Also had the largest variety of offerings and prices appeared to be decent. If you browse the entire shop everyone could find something that would interest them. My wife and I were in more of a browsing mindset and did not buy anything this visit. The photos I posted only shows a small selection of what was available. Some of the sellers had their Etsy stores mentioned as well if you enjoyed their offerings but wanted something slightly different they may offer. Also the staff when we walked in greeted us which was not the case for all the spots we visited. That added touch makes you feel more welcome. If you really went slow you could spend a long while looking at everything they have to offer here. If you are going down or up route 1 especially antique shopping this is a must visit. One of many in the area but one of the best we visited!

I'm not of fan of department stores that offer sales every few hours and thankfully this store prices sheets, towels, and window covering at reasonable, honest prices without all the hype. Staffed by helpful and friendly ladies, I have been able to get assistance I needed with pairing up materials and in some cases finding great suggestions in the clearance section for some amazing savings. As long as they are in business, I will continue to take a few hours from the beach in Ogunquit and shop Home Fashions for some great deals for my home.

I'm in Maine with family (I'm from Los Angeles) and my dad is giving us a bit of a tour around the area. This small shop has so much charm, such a cool theme, and had such a nicely displayed curation of books that I'm actually mad I couldn't fill up a bag and hang out downtown Kennebunk and just hang out, but moving on. This store is beautiful, and even though we didn't interact with any of the staff, they just seemed super friendly. On top of a great selection of books you could also snag some mugs or shirts and I'm also regretting not getting that, but I'll for sure be back in the future, mark my word. Overall, Octopus Bookshop is the perfect little bookstore for a beautiful little town like Kennebunk. Both have great local selections and appreciate customers and are NICE. My wife walked many blocks from our car to Octopus Books and had a book in hand that she was interested in buying, when the woman store worker was extremely rude to her. She actually insulted the size of my wife's professionally trained, papered service dog. She was very rude. Needlessly. Life is short and this is a book store with people purposely there to buy books and support local bookstores. To have a clerk treat book buyers disrespectfully is completely unnecessary and unacceptable. We will never cross the threshold of Octopus Books ever again. Shop someplace else.

They're answer was that it was to old, can't get parts, unrepairable. Cost of replacement, Including new fireplace, ripping out the old one, removing existing mantle, yadda yadda yadda, about $15,000. Dave, from Jackson shows up, takes a look, and "Sure, we can fix this, no problem. 2 weeks later, Dave is back with the "unavailable" part, and 2 hours later he's done. Fireplace work great, it was like he was never here, except that the fireplace worked. He also fixed a problem with the external vent being to close to the clapboard siding. "Who Knew?' Dave did. When you call Jackson, insist on Dave. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and an attention to detail that impressed even me, and I can be a little OCD.

One of my items that I got is this cute, small chargeable lamp to keep @ my Mom's house in my room & man I wish I picked up two of them so I can bring back one to Vegas with me...ugh. I found these cat wobble toys that you put cat treats in & your cat will hit the toy causing it to rock & treats to fall out of the hole. I have something like this already & my younger cat LOVES it. My friend wanted one but when I went looking on-line for one the one's I was coming across were crazy $$, I got one for under $3.00. Their dog toys are inexpensive & they have a big selection. I also grabbed a few packs of clearance underwear for men & women along with a pack of t-shirts for $2.00 per package. I grabbed these due to the great deal & to donate to our "kindness closet" @ work for the homeless patients & other's who may need something to wear. They have these hugs cans of nuts for wicked cheap, great for grabbing to bring to a friend's house when headed over for a gathering. Their hair products, body wash & lotions are cheaper than Walmart prices. They also have a sign in the check out line to not forget to pickup a ME Whoopee pie so I grabbed one for only $1.50. The cashier was nice, I didn't catch her name. Don't forget to bring your own bag with ya to put all your goodies in (guess it's a ME thing now) & make sure it's a big one!!! lol

It was a 1 oz jar for $90. Usually the 1 oz jar is $200. I was able to use checkfresh.com on the item's batch code and see it was from 2021. This didn't bother me though as the product was still in-box and plastic wrapped. I feel so lucky and would definitely come back just to check the glass cases where the more expensive products are.
