However, we've pleasantly been surprised by some of our clothing purchases and other, random necessities. They have an underrated selection of furniture, primarily couches, chairs, and tables, and I would easily by a few items for my finished basement if I lived closer. If you're a bargain, hunter, and looking for a place that can be a rewarding experience, you should consider a visit to the store.

I've been to the Marden's in Biddeford (twice) & the one in Waterville and out of all 3 I have to say my favorite one is the Biddeford location. A lot of the stuff in here seemed like a lot of junk. No good bag/purse selection, clothes weren't that great & overpriced for a place like this. Their ladies room wasn't up to par either. Don't forget to bring your own bag as they don't have any. The cashier was nice but only after I made conversation with her, she didn't seem to happy to be working there. I only walked out with a couple of things. I definitely wouldn't want to come to this location again & would tell my Mom "let's go to the one in Biddeford!"

While the prices remain excellent and the cash register staff was incredibly pleasant, the overall upkeep and sanitation of the store were highly concerning.The shopping environment was tough to navigate due to messy shelves and knocked-over displays. There was also a strange initial odor that shifted into a strong, overwhelming smell of spilled chlorine as I walked through the aisles.Most alarming, however, was seeing an exposed metal mouse trap sitting on a ledge about four feet off the floor right next to the exit door. While I understand that retail stores must manage pest control, seeing an active trap so visibly exposed--especially with food packaging sold in the store--is a major sanitation worry that makes me highly uncomfortable returning.I hope local management addresses these aisle hazards, odors, and pest control practices immediately to ensure a safe, clean environment for shoppers.

We were really happy with the range of items to choose from and ordered great quality furniture for a really manageable price. When the deadline came for getting the furniture in, not everything had been delivered. Kyle arranged for brand new furniture from the store to cover us until the complete order arrived. Then they came back and redelivered still no charge.....removing the " loaner " furniture and completing our order. These guys are a class act and really covered our butts for our first rental. Initial impression was that there were a lot of nice furniture items. Looking closer at the prices, I felt they seemed way too high for being a restore. Compared to the one by our home, these prices were very high. Store was clean and set up nicely. It's just that the prices were very high. Understand that they need to turn a profit for their charity but they probably would get more sales if the prices were comparable to second hand stores.

I found these cat wobble toys that you put cat treats in & your cat will hit the toy causing it to rock & treats to fall out of the hole. I have something like this already & my younger cat LOVES it. My friend wanted one but when I went looking on-line for one the one's I was coming across were crazy $$, I got one for under $3.00. Their dog toys are inexpensive & they have a big selection. I also grabbed a few packs of clearance underwear for men & women along with a pack of t-shirts for $2.00 per package. I grabbed these due to the great deal & to donate to our "kindness closet" @ work for the homeless patients & other's who may need something to wear. They have these hugs cans of nuts for wicked cheap, great for grabbing to bring to a friend's house when headed over for a gathering. Their hair products, body wash & lotions are cheaper than Walmart prices. They also have a sign in the check out line to not forget to pickup a ME Whoopee pie so I grabbed one for only $1.50. The cashier was nice, I didn't catch her name. Don't forget to bring your own bag with ya to put all your goodies in (guess it's a ME thing now) & make sure it's a big one!!! lol

I had been to Marden's before but never saw anything I really loved. This time I went I scored big…read moretime and found Creme de la Mer (ultra high end French skincare product). It was a 1 oz jar for $90. Usually the 1 oz jar is $200. I was able to use checkfresh.com on the item's batch code and see it was from 2021. This didn't bother me though as the product was still in-box and plastic wrapped. I feel so lucky and would definitely come back just to check the glass cases where the more expensive products are.
