Located in a strip mall along Central, I noticed this shop with a sign that says "Bookstore" over…read morethe entrance. As you enter, you notice long rows of paperback books, sorted by genre, that run the entire length of the main room. Towards the back, there is a room on the left that has some $2 hardbacks. On the right, is another small room that has some True Crime and Sci-Fi novels. Occasionally, you will find free standing racks where collections of a specific author have been gathered. The checkout counter is to your right of where you enter. There, you pay 1/2 price of the suggested price printed by the publishers. You can also bring in books you wish to part with for in-store credits. (I didn't ask about how much they give, but I assume it's less than half price.) Basically, just take your time browsing the racks. The place has a lot of books, most were in good condition, but definitely read before. I was able to find a lot of authors I that I follow, but the collections were incomplete. This is the place where you'll find some used treasures, but also new books and and some rare and collectible books. Whenever I visit a new bookstore, I gravitate to the children's section. This bookstore has lots of children's books, from picture books to graphic novels. I saw some ancient Nancy Drew novels, with original covers. I'm not a Nancy Drew head, but I can appreciate a vintage mystery collection when I see one. One of the best things about Fallen Leaf Books is that they leave (leaf?) you the eff alone. I don't remember if anyone greeted me or talked to me, and frankly, I don't care. All I need in a bookstore is books and cozy nooks and quietude, and that's what you'll find here.

There are a variety of books for all ages, some book themed gift items, puzzles and even a visiting bookstore cat. I don't believe he was supposed to be in there, but he ran in the open front door and was greeting everyone who came that day. All the staff were super nice and friendly! The second store was just as cute as the first location and seemed to focus more on gift items but also had some books as well. A must stop if you are in Columbus!

The pictures of dogs on the walls, the free coffee station, the couches, and the group who came together to work on a puzzle?! How cute. There are art books, foreign language books, references, sci fi, mystery, romance, kids books, and more. It's not necessarily cheap, but the selection is eclectic. Their discount books bring me in, too, but I inevitably leave with a stack. My father did this. I inherited volumes from him, and added to it, refining the collection along the way. It's plainly stunning to see the variety of content available here. This store is a magnet for the mind. As I mentioned in my prior review, it's not as large as Powell's in Portland, or has the karma of City Lights in San Francisco, but in a way, it's close the same magnetism you feel in a really good used bookstore. Plan to spend time, and go oomph when you carry the stack when you leave. It's a dangerous place, with dangerous ideas. Go there.

The owner is a thief. I took books in to sell; it was well over 150 books. The owner looked at less…read morethan a quarter of them, then offered me a small amount in cash and some in store credit, Then he told me to look around the store. I decided not to take the offer and then when I loaded up the books I noticed that there was a rare valuable book missing. When I confronted the owner about the missing book he played dumb and then when I started looking around behind the counter and stated that I saw him with it and told him the title, he conveniently found the book tucked under his desk right next to his leg. He tried to steal the best book and was going to let me pack up and leave. Luckily I noticed. The owner is a thief.
