Even though I didn't get any of the candy, it definitely served to whet my appetite, and I can only imagine how I would have felt walking around the store as a little kid. On the other side of the store, they had a large and expansive selection of Pawley's Island and Litchfield souvenirs, to include t-shirts, coffee mugs, hats, bumper stickers, etc. I was also happy to see that they sold a small selection of postcards, which included the store on the front of one! My only minor complaint is that the store didn't open until 12:30 on the day that I went, when it would have been nice to open a little earlier and avoid the beating sun. This only really matters if you're visiting in the summer like I did, and is again a very minor complaint. Other than that, Pawley's Island Mercantile was great, and I'd recommend it as a candy or souvenir store!

When we arrived all of our items were delivered and set up in advance. Unfortunately for us, soon after we arrived we discovered the vacation rental company had double booked our beach house. We had to pack up 3 car loads of people and switch to a vacant rental 20 mins away. When we called Baby's Away on Sunday evening they answered the phone and told me they could pick up our baby supplies and deliver them to our new rental. Baby's Away went the extra mile for us and we really appreciated it.

I went to exchange it and was pretty much told I was stupid that they checked all of them and they all worked that I must have broke it myself with a lot of force. In addition to their apparel, they have almost any beach or Litchfield/Pawleys themed knick-knack that you can think of! This includes kites, balls, figurines, home decor, stuffed animals, bracelets, fans, towels, glasses, etc. (I could go on for hours.) And... the hermit crabs! Even though I've kind of outgrown the desire to buy a hermit crab, I used to love looking at their selection of hermit crabs and shells to go along with them. All-in-all, I love Eagles, and reiterate that it's the best beach shop in Litchfield/Pawleys!
