I got taken advantage of pretty badly here while donating. The store offered me x amount of free items in return, but when I came in and asked for them, the store owner acted shocked and surprised. Only thing this owner did right was greet me and be fake nice. I was the only customer in the store. She spent my shopping experience incessantly assuring me I was looking through the wrong sizes. I'm a 5'9 black chick at a size 10 and for some reason she couldn't fathom my body fitting into vintage attire that I would easily fill out just fine. I shop looks like these often. It got worse by her then offering to have me look at a HORRID old time gown that was literally siiiizes too large for me and not my vibe in any way, assuring me that that would be "more my style and fit." I was like "mmm appreciate it but don't think so." I was completely amicable, although I was 100% confused by her continued reaches to dress me in clothing that is too large and offer her opinion when not asked. Her lack of understanding for other women's body shape, her impositions and her lacking communication skills were appalling. You can definitely find better pricing, better selection and much better service elsewhere. read more

Long past due review for this hidden gem in Williamsburg/Bushwick. I've been in this shop a bunch and, although I'm not a vintage guy, the owner has always managed to suggest some interesting things for me and push me out of my comfort zone. Most recently, I mentioned that I was in the market for a new suit, and she miraculously had an amazing 1960's wool suit that fit me perfectly. For the quality and fit, it was a steal, but it was also nice to know that this suit gets a 2nd life. I was visiting my friend in Bushwick and we visited this shop together. It is incredibly charming and has a great selection of men's and women's vintage clothes for totally reasonable prices. The store owner is super nice and attentive. Though I don't do too much vintage shopping (or shopping generally), I would definitely come back here and check out what they have on the racks. read more

Olly Oxen Free is an experience not to be missed! The owner has stocked extremely hard to find items that I have not found at other vintage shops. Best vintage store in the area hands down. I love this place. Beautifully selected, reasonably priced and some serious variety. They have an array of knick knacks, hats, jackets, shoes, blankets... some things a steal others a bit more on the pricey side with good reason. If you like browsing come check this place out. Sweet place; nice clothing selection. They have a bunch of cool vintage 70s hippie stuff from India (guys' & girls'). I snagged a couple of the shirts. They also have a nice selection of other vintage goodies besides clothes: plates & glasses, lps, and just random cool items. With the closing of the Vortex, and Zukkies becoming increasingly bicycle-focused, it's nice to have a vintage store off the Montrose stop. (And a good one.) read more

Im a long time vintage hunter and someone who appreciates meeting kind people. This shop had both beautifully curated vintage and a wonderful atmosphere (oldies on the record player, essential oils, a warm smile and rose!). I experienced great customer service and found a few treasures I cant wait to wear. Truly special place with a warm, welcoming vibe. I'm not a huge vintage shopper, but I know a good store from a "meh" one, and this place rules! So much fun. Nicely organized and laid out- manages to feel like a wall-to-wall treasure chest of clothing and home goods without feeling claustrophobic. I was really impressed by the selection too. Every piece was cool and unique, clearly selected by someone who knows what they're doing. Lots of cheaper stuff too, and not a pit stain in the house! It's on a sleepy block, so they're not constantly being raided by locusts. Bad for the owner I suppose, but good for me! read more

The owner has good taste. You will find nice things there. However, the owner also has a poor attitude and acts seriously stuck up. She didn't even greet us when we walked in and stared at my outfit up and down. I have bought probably $100 worth of things previously from this store, ignoring the poor attitude. This is my third time here and probably my last. The owner needs a reality check this is 2017 with a billion more vintage shops in competition. Be humble. read more

OOF vintage is amazing! Every time I got there I find something new that is both rare and unique. I am a costume designer and one time was designing a period piece. Suzy, the owner took an hour out of her day to dig out multiple items that would work for me. If you ask for what you need she may just have it somewhere! This store is a gem. read more

Very well-curated selection of vintage wear. I used to live only a block away from this place, and though I now live in a different neighborhood my boyfriend and I still make the trip every other weekend to Olly Oxen to get our vintage fix.
