I have an antique ring with gold plating that had worn off. I wanted to get it down to its original silver finishing and they did it within 24 hours for only $25. Olmaz Jewelers is a great addition to Chapel Hill. It's located in Eastgate Shopping Center, next door to the Wine Store and the new Gugelhupf Bakery. They have a wide selection of unique jewelry for sale. I found an amazing piece for my wife this Christmas! The space is beautiful, bright and contemporary. The sales staff were friendly and helpful with my selection. I'll definitely be back for future gifts. They also do jewelry repair and sell estate jewelry. read more

Very very personable guys! Loved my experience here. My ring setting needed to be replaced. I brought it in, had a bit of a wait (I went in the weekend of Valentine's day!) throughout my wait they checked on me and let me know they'd be with me shortly. I got my quote and was on my way. Within a week and a couple of days I received a call that my ring was ready! Nice price and fast service can't beat that. I will definitely be back...hopefully next time not for a repair but to get myself a new piece of jewelry read more

Olmaz is one of the best jewelers I have experienced. I had a piece of jewelry that I no longer wore and they took the stones out and created a new ring for me plus a necklace. My (now) fiancé and I spontaneously walked into Olmaz in Spring 2022, while running some Saturday errands, just browsing and trying on engagement rings. The employees that helped us were friendly and overall lovely people! They were patient while I tried on a ton of rings, and answered all of our questions honestly. You could tell they genuinely wanted us to be happy with whatever we purchased from them! I found one that I adored, and they offered us the details and potential pricing for the ring. I knew that ring was the one, but we were waiting awhile to purchase. They said no problem, they would reach out to my (now) fiancé later in the Summer to talk to him about details. From there, I was not involved in the process. But my fiancé said that working with them was so easy! They reached out at the end of the Summer, just as they said, and they helped him with everything for the ring. They even had it done earlier than originally stated! I have been back twice for cleaning since we got engaged in September 2022 and they are always so friendly and kind. Service with a smile! We love Olmaz! read more

Fabulous Jewelry Store in Chapel Hill! I would drive in from far to get the care and quality that they offer. The customer service is like dealing with family, they take care of you as if you're part of their own. Very delighted with their selection of fine jewelry as well as having their own designer. What a wonderful surprise to find this jewelry store! I needed some advice on our grandmother's engagement ring and Jack was more than helpful. They examined the ring, checked it for stability and even cleaned it! Jack was great giving me the relative value, not an appraisal but what we could expect to sell it for. Absolutely no pressure to reset it or even purchase anything from them. When I do need jewelry I will definitely be back! read more

They took the time to talk with me about what I wanted, explained what they were going to do and why, and fixed the ring right then while I was there with unmatched professionalism and care. Finally, three months later, I called to check and the owner calls me leaves a message that they misplaced it in another pile and it has been ready, they just didn't call. Finally as I pay $120 for a slight adjustment the girl tells me if I use a credit card they are going to pass the service charge onto me. This is absolutely insane for a business that charges an exorbitant amount of money for their jewelry. She argued with me trying to educate and Millenialsplain to me why they were passing the cost on to me. I understand there is a service charge with a small business, but this is an establishment that has been in Chapel Hill for a while. Shame on you for bad business practices!

I've had this business create a ring for me and repair a ring for me. I described what I wanted and…read moreasked for an estimate and a drawing before the work was done. The jeweler did the work without giving me either. I didn't like that he took it upon himself to decide what I'd like without talking with me as agreed. I did like this ring. The repaired ring is another story. I asked that the prongs be tipped because the stone was loose. The repair took weeks longer than promised. When I got the ring back, I saw that the jeweler had again made a decision without consulting me first. Instead of tipping the prongs as agreed, he created a new setting and a new leaf probably because the ring was damaged during the repair. The new leaf did not match the original, and the jeweler insisted it was the original, all while the original leaf and leftover gold from the repair sat in a bag on the counter between us. Worse, the setting was crooked. The jeweler insisted it had always been like that. I told him I'd worn the ring for 40 years and it was never like that. I spent six months trying to find someone to repair the damage, but no one would touch it. Finally, a friend of the jeweler's convinced me to take it back to him, and he agreed to repair it free of charge. The setting was straightened somewhat, but it has since crumbled, and the ring is no longer wearable.

My grandmother's clock was an even greater challenge. It had been restored over the years with replacement parts, missing components, and numerous obstacles to getting everything working together correctly. Scott never looked for the easy way out. He patiently worked through every issue, custom-lengthened the metal pendulum, evaluated the weight distribution, and fine-tuned the clock until it kept perfect time. What sets Scott apart is not only his knowledge but also his integrity. This is a new jewelers in the Chapel Hill area and if our experience is any indication, this store is a wonderful addition to Eastgate Shopping Center and Chapel Hill. The owners, Jack and Eli, and their wonderful Bench Designer, Jennifer are all so very helpful (and nice!) and no doubt are experts in their field. They took the time to explain things to us clearly and in depth and made sure that all our questions were answered. We would not hesitate to return and purchase from them again and highly recommend them if in the market for fine jewelry, excellent service and caring people. P.S. We are also letting them repair a very sentimental ring to us and have no doubt Jennifer will make sure it is done right. First class place! read more

The owners and on-site jeweler are wonderful - extremely knowledgeable, sincere, and they genuinely care about helping their customers. I was told by another local jeweler that my diamond setting was not repairable and too risky to even re-set because the diamond was damaged. After bringing it to Elie at Olmaz, he helped me visualize/create the new custom-made setting (using one of their featured designers) and it is perfect! I have had my wedding diamond for 15 years so I was so relieved and happy that they were able to successfully place it in a new setting. Their prices are very reasonable and their service is top-notch. I highly recommend visiting them in their beautiful new store. read more

I love Olmaz Jewelers! I lost a small, pave diamond from my engagement ring for the first time in almost 7 years. I also needed a ring I have had for 3 years and barely worn resized. The process at Olmaz was incredibly easy while still being detailed and thorough with incredible customer service. Their shop is amazing and beautiful too. My rings were returned to me in a timely manner. The work was fantastic and my rings were cleaner than I had ever seen them. I found Olmaz jewelers today as they seem to be the only remaining jewelers in Chapel Hill. My watch battery needed to be replaced and they were able to install a new battery while I waited. Extremely friendly and courteous service and at a very reasonable cost ($12). While I was not looking for any jewelry, from my experience, I would definitely recommend Olmaz Jewelers. read more
