Olson was supposed to service my Triangle Tube boiler due to a product recall. After the "repair" was done (there are now new problems caused by their "repairs"), I was sent a bill in excess of $800. Triangle Tube had informed me that they would provide the parts and cover all expenses. Olson said that was incorrect and that I had to pay for all labor and travel costs. I indicated that I didn't think it was right that I had to pay anything because of a recall. Olson said they would reduce the amount down to $400. Triangle Tube said that was ABSOLUTELY wrong. All Olson had to do was submit the required paperwork and they would be compensated. They sent emails to Olson (I was copied on those emails) indicating the above AND they spoke to them on the phone. So you would think this issue was resolved. But no, today I receive a past due notice for $400. I would not/will not use them for anything in the future and would certainly NEVER recommend them to anyone! read more

Estimate for a new gas line installation for a new gas stove. The tech was very knowledgeable, knew his stuff for sure. Gave a reasonable estimate too. I accepted the job to be done right then and there. But then the dreaded pay half up front request came. Sorry, we have had many contractors for roofing, painting indoors and out, yard jobs etc. We do not pay up front unless the materials show up on site first. No ghosting from a contractor will happen with us, sorry I had to reject the job ONLY for that. read more

They did a great job finding an issue with the recirculating pump as well as cleaning the boiler. They charge by the full hour to include writing up the job. I believe this add $195 additional dollars to the cost. Great work and good military discount. read more

Our water heater stopped working. The pilot light wouldn't stay on. The water heater was 12 years old. We called Olson at 9:30 am and Robert came out and installed a new water heater. We were back online by 5:00 pm with hot water. Thank you, Olson, and Robert for the great service. read more

I've always counted on Olson for work, commercial and residential. They have replaced water heaters, welded pipes to tanks and today cleared a blockage between house and street. It involved pulling a toilet in order to snake the sewer 100'. Toilet was reset and area cleaned like nothing had been done. I left a message on voicemail last night, they called me first thing this morning and had a technician at the house before 8:30. Bill was less than I expected and certainly less than digging up yard and replacing sewer line. I'm happy. read more

Needed a plumbing repair for a hole in water pipe on a Sunday. Called at 11:17 am was told it would be late afternoon or evening as there were two calls ahead of me. Waited until 6:30 pm and called and was told their only tech was very busy and it could be 9 pm possibly. I told them to forget it and would go the night without any water and call someone else Monday morning. Hard to believe such a large company only had one tech. Don't call Olson after hours unless you want to wait for hours for a repair. read more

Our sewer pump broke days before Christmas causing sewage to back up in our basement bathroom and utility room. It was a sh%& show and emergency situation! I immediately called the team that cleaned out our sewer line at a competitive cost with a Maxi-miller after we moved in. I research bids thoroughly and trusted Olson's reputation and work ethic. Brian and his team of Rich and Chuck arrived promptly, diagnosed the broken sewer pump that had serviced the home for 37 years, and found a comparable Zoeller sewer pump that afternoon to install. The cast iron top was difficult to remove and it was a messy task. Rich and Chuck re-piped and installed the new sewer pump and temporarily sealed it that afternoon before our company arrived. I had plenty of time to clean up the mess and the team promised to return after the holidays with a new reinforced lid. Sure enough, I could count on Brian, Rich and Chuck. They were back on January 2nd and not only sealed up the sewer lid (along with the sewer flies), they installed a new toilet I had purchased on my own at wholesale to replace the old one that kept running and overflowing in our basement. No questions asked! Two weeks later, I received a very fair bill. I 100% recommend Olson Plumbing. They are responsive, thorough and provide service at a reasonable price. I guess Olson is too big to care about losing business. Used to use them for my rental properties, but when I called today they didn't have availability for 5 days, or 2 days on an emergency rate schedule. Then they said they would only give me a 15-20 min call ahead. I explained that I don't live at the property and I am 45-60 min away depending. I asked for a supervisor, and I spoke with a nice gentleman that confirmed. They would rather lose business than give the courtesy of a 1hr call ahead prior to service. We were not impressed. We were contacted by Olson and they said they could come out early to give us an estimate on a new hot water heater. They came! But, we were told that they needed to look into ordering a smaller hot water heater and they would come the following day to look into it further. They never came-there was never a follow-up call-we never heard from them again. We were willing to pay this company over $1500 for a new hot water heater. Guess we weren't a priority. Or perhaps this company is so big that they don't need our business. My suggestion is to find a company that actually cares about you and follows through. read more

Last month we had a technician from Olson come and diagnose why our a/c unit was not working. We contacted this company after having some other jobs completed by Olson at our new home. After diagnosing the issue, the tech explained the problem. At some point prior to us purchasing this home, the switch part was removed from the disconnect so there was no power running to the unit. I asked him for a quote to fix this. He told me that it is NOT a possibility to replace that piece (which I learned later on is false). He told me the entire A/C disconnect unit needed replacing so I requested a quote for this. He said the part would be $100, plus labor to complete this job. Tech had to leave to go pick up the part as he did not have one on hand. Almost 2 hours later(on the clock the entire time), he returned and replaced the unit. Upon receiving the invoice I was shocked to see that the part actually cost $325 dollars. At NO point was I made aware of this until I saw it in the bill. At NO point did anyone contact me to authorize this extreme difference in price from what he quoted me. Add on another 300 and change for labor, and the total owing was almost $650.00. As frustrating and disappointing as this was to be completely fleeced and disregarded by your company, I later learned that I could have purchased this EXACT same disconnect for UNDER 40 DOLLARS myself. That's quite a markup. I also learned that I could have in fact found a replacement piece for the disconnect without ever having to get a brand new unit. After reaching out to the service manager and explaining my situation he was so concerned about my complaint that as compensation he offered me the wonderful and amazing $129 dollar deal to clean my AC unit. (Another attempt to drain more of our hard earned money from our bank account) Really? Completely disappointing customer service. I refused as there are many competitors charging $79 for the same service so why would I pay that? Eventually he said he would send someone out to do it at no charge, since he didn't want to lose us as loyal customers. The gentleman who eventually came out and did the cleaning was excellent and also could not believe this whole situation. We can't afford to be loyal customers to a company that does not care about quality of service and honesty. There was zero transparency or communication. read more

I'm perhaps their smallest customer but you'd think I was a big fish the way they take care of me. I've used them a few times, always with outstanding service. But recently, we had near zero temperatures when our very old furnace gave way in our building. They came out within hours but the outdated part needed to be ordered and took a few days. I had a hot water heater replaced by Olson. Customer service to schedule the appointment and the service guys were great. The only downfall was that they said I could only get a Bradford White hot water heater. I'm fine with that but they didn't even recommend different models. I was sold a 6 year warranty heater. I would have preferred to pay for a longer lasting model. The one they brought out to install is not even energy star certified and a much lower energy factor rating of .63. It would have been nice to be given some options. read more

DONT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! I hired them because I had a couple people tell me that they like em. Unfortunately my experience was not so great. The Tech showed up on time with his trainee and both looked presentable which is awesome these days. The tech took one look at the bath/shower fixture and immediately started acting as if it was something from outer space. (It was just an exposed shower unit) basically has a couple more valves & connections than a standard shower assembly (most of which were already assembled) he had to drill one hole in the tile and tinker with the shower supply line a little but other than that pretty straight forward. it took him 4 hours which is way too long in my opinion. (I am a contractor and have done commercial plumbing in the past) .....BUT WHAT REALLY SET ME OFF IS WHEN HE WAS DONE BEFORE NOON AND SITS IN THE VAN FOR 20 MINUTES, COMES BACK IN AT 12:12 AND TRYS TO CHARGE ME FOR A HALF HOUR EXTRA LABOR STATING WITH ATTITUDE THAT " Well We don't charge by the minute. We round up" SO I ENDED UP PAYING APPROXIMATELY $550.00 for a slightly unique shower fixture to be installed by a hustler with an attitude. DONT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! read more

A Moen shower valve was leaking. Needed handle replaced but thru the years of use the handle had seized. The plumber decided the only way to remove the handle was to us a saws all and cut it off. I agreed to purchase another handle. In the process of cutting, the plumber inadvertently cut the flange that the handle is connected to. I searched for the handle but with the flange damaged no handle could be attached. Olsen responded and I was informed that if they had damaged something they would accept responsibility. The plumber returned without parts and asked if I wanted to go to the parts shop and get a new kit. I deferred to him . He touched base with me and notified me that kits were available at $150 and $300. I called management to explain that I would not accept any responsibility for damage they had done. He offered the Job for a price of $66, which I reluctantly accepted. The plumber returned. He had not communicated with his supervisor. He relayed that I owed $266! When the supervisor gave me the $66 quote he had failed to mention that I would be charged for labor and all the time the plumber was running around . I had already paid $182 for the first visit. Olsen did cut some of the labor charge but to change a handle ended up costing me $350. NOTE: This company starts charging from when they schedule - not when they arrive to start a job! If they are in another city they still start a clock at more than $100/ hr cost. I had been a loyal customer and expected more honest and reliable service. I'll find another company for all future plumbing services. read more

I have a rental home in Colorado Springs that belonged to my late parents. They had used Olson Plumbing & Heating for decades and refused to use anyone else. After my parents passed away, I naturally continued to use Olson. Since I live out of town, they have been exceptionally helpful and accommodating. They always coordinate scheduling with my tenants, are prompt , courteous and very professional. They always call me to discuss the work that needs to be done, provide the estimated cost of repair and get my authorization before commencing work. I have used them to do plumbing upgrades & repair; furnace inspections & repair and an annual sewer inspection and root clearing. Their work has been outstanding and their rates are right in line. They have treated my tenants with the greatest courtesy and respect. Any time I call Olson I know the job will be done right, promptly and professionally. Since I can't be there to oversee the work or inspect it when they're finished, I don't have to worry, I know it will be done right! I wouldn't consider calling anyone else! I called olson plumbing I had to wait for 6 days for them to come out in snake my sink. When they came out he had to use 3 different snakes and then when he left here there was to roots in the lines but there was no way to check it I had to wait a week to use my sink. He had asked if I could leave the dishwasher out the middle of the floor and tell they came back to fix the sink. I told him no. When the second plumber came out to up grade the pipes as the prior owner used silicone to attach the pipes to the cast iron. I had to wait once again for the pipes to let the pipes dry. I waited 14 hours to use the dishwasher. I still had a clog . The water was backing up into the sink . I called them back out to re snake it . He got all the roots out. I didn't get charged but I wanted to get all the pipes cleaned out so I once again had to reschedule to have them come out. 9 days to snake out to the street read more

Just tried to talk with a person at the Olson office regarding a replacement of a water heater. Woman was not friendly, but actually snippy. Told her I was right next to one of their vehicles parked in front of a townhome very near mine in the same complex. Told her I needed to have the water heater replaced. Got no where with her. So, knocked on the door of the townhome where the Olson plumber was working. Explained to him the situation. He said he could not do anything. I asked if he could come around the corner and tell me if I should shut off the water or what to do. It would only take him a couple of minutes. He said he would have to charge $96. $96 to come around the corner to just take a quick look and tell me what to do!! Finally he said he would come by, but never did come. Not a company or people you want to deal with! If I charged for every time in my life that I have helped someone out for a couple of minutes, I would be a millionaire. YOU CAN MAKE SOME OF THE PEOPLE HAPPY SOME OF THE TIME, BUT YOU CAN'T MAKE ALL THE PEOPLE HAPPY ALL OF THE TIME!!! With that being said, I am happy to say I had an AWESOME experience with Olson Plumbing & Heating! I was recently doing some remodeling in my master bathroom. When my tile guy was taking out the pony wall from my old shower, he noticed that the venting pipes had been left outside the wall hidden by the pony wall. Obviously, a contractor cutting corners when the house was built. I also needed a plumber to re-pipe for a new standing bathtub. And then he informed me that he needed it done by the next day and he couldn't continue tiling until the plumbing was done. I called around to a few companies and was told they were at least 1 to 2 weeks out for that type of work :( A friend of mine recommended that I call Olson's and I'm so glad that I did :) They sent a super nice guy out the very next day. He worked with my tile guy to make sure they had all the measurements correct! A week later that same plumber came out and helped install my tub and sinks! The next day my tile guy noticed there was a water leak from the tub. I called Mike, the owner, and he sent someone right over to fix the problem. We are all human and sometimes mistakes happen! The owner was super apologetic and wanted to make sure I was completely happy. Which I am!!! The employees at Olson's were extremely professional and proficient!
