My recent experience with Awesome has left me extremely disappointed. This company lacks integrity, respect and professionalism. I originally received a quote of just over $8,000 to repair a broken sewage pipe. I was told the work would require digging into the lower portion of my driveway. On the day the repair was supposed to take place I was instead informed that they anticipated having to break asphalt, which would increase the cost by approximately $4,000 to $5,000. They then said that because they had already quoted me around $8,000, they would only charge me an additional $2,000 and they would absorb the remainder of the cost. The problem is that the asphalt was never broken and yet I was still being charged the additional $2,000 which of course I refused. That is when Dean became involved. He told me the additional $2,000 was for a special permit supposedly required to break the city sidewalk. The sidewalk was never broken-they only broke the lower portion on of my driveway. I also found it difficult to understand how a permit could reasonably account for several thousand dollars of additional cost. I then asked Dean to provide me with an itemized invoice so I could understand exactly what I was being charged for. He became extremely upset and told me that Awesome does not provide itemized invoices. I found that very concerning considering they were asking for an additional $2,000. What was even more disappointing was the way Dean spoke to me throughout the conversation. I have spent thousands of dollars with this company, including nearly $10,000 on work earlier this year, and I have never been treated with such disrespect by a service provider. When I explained that I wanted to compare the invoice with an item list of the work performed by the subcontractor before paying anything beyond the original quote, Dean became dismissive and sarcastic. Telling me that he did not have time for me to call "18 billion people" referring to me stating I wanted to call the subcontractor for the item list of work completed on my project, and very sarcastically asking me Would you rather we didn't perform the work?' When I just wanted to make sure I was only paying for the work that was actually done. When I called out the tone and behavior, he continued with sarcasm, telling me that I was such a pleasure to talk to over the phone. The interaction on felt condescending, hostile, and completely unprofessional. Dean ultimately agreed to invoice me for the original $8,000, but only after an extremely unpleasant conversation. I also feel that if the work done did amount to $10,000, they would have sent the invoice and absolutely insisted that I pay the full amount. He eventually agreed to send me an invoice and as I write this, I still have not received one. The entire situation was stressful enough without having to argue over an additional $2,000 that was not justified. I feel it is very problematic that they even presented me with the extra charge before they even knew whether the asphalt would actually need to be broken and ultimately it was not. After this experience I will not be using Awesome for any future service needs. I understand that with these types of projects unexpected cost may arise however I feel customers deserve clear explanations, accurate billing, transparency and basic respect and courtesy. Big thanks to William, Tristen, and Jason of Awesome Home Services! They did great work tag-teaming my job right before a holiday weekend: a sudden leak which damaged our laundry room ceiling with waste water. Tristen opened the ceiling and found a failed tub waste and overflow drain assembly leaking when used. He cut and removed the failed section and installed a new tub waste and overflow in pvc. He verified the drain repair was working correctly and that there were no leaks on any connections for the drain repair. Next he removed the failed shower valve assembly (which required cutting in to the shower tile) and installed a Delta single handle shower valve with remodel plate (a welcome upgrade to our 70s era plate). He tested for leaks on the connections and then caulked all the shower trim. While in the laundry room, William and Jason noticed wet flooring under our toilet. They discovered the toilet's wax seal appeared to have been leaking for a while and recommended a restoration company that could evaluate the flooring. In the meantime, they removed the toilet and capped the toilet flange to prevent sewer gasses from getting into our home. Important to note: Unlike other companies, Awesome provides a two-year parts and labor warranty. I will definitely call these guys for future home repairs. They were all very nice and professional. They were patient with me and explained everything they were doing and why. I also very much appreciated their team approach to resolving problems. They were licensed and insured, and there was a clear system of mentorship between the more experienced technician and his co-workers. Wonderful to see with a local business. Power went off in half my home on New Year's Eve. Their website said if I called by 8pm they would come out. I called at 4:30 and they were at my house shortly after 5pm. Jason Tse was my tech and he explained their down payment and charges. I was given 3 quotes each for the difficulty of the repair. I knew it was going to be expensive. I signed to continue the work. Who else could I get at 5pm on New Year's Eve? Jason went to work trying to locate the source. He checked the breaker box, voltage and nothing was pinpointing the cause. Jason really wanted to find and fix the problem before the night was out. And back to work Jason went. He isolated the problem around 8pm after checking the lines in the attic and each room. I told him I'd like to finish up by 9 and continue after New Year's Day. Jason wanted to work until everything was fixed. He finished around 10:30 and during that time we had some lively conversations. Jason I would give 5 stars. I thought the pricing was a bit high but considering the day and the time I guess it was appropriate. I called Awesome Home Services after finding water dripping from my ceiling in our finished basement. Preston showed up in about an hour and knew what he was doing. He checked multiple sources inside and out for possible leaks but found nothing. He determined that he would have to cut the dry wall but kept the hole as small as possible. He was able to find the leak immediately and fix it quickly. He even called a restoration specialist to come and assess any damage the leak may have caused. Preston was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He was kind to my children and wore shoe protectors when entering my home. Preston saved the day and I am thrilled with his work. I couldn't leave a separate review for the other quality work I received a few days later but I wanted to recognize, Jason B. And Michael T. Who installed our water softener. They had another gentleman with them and I'm so sorry I can't remember his name. Did not find what was wrong. Received a quote for $1800 and then recommended new furnace for approximately $8,000. Got a second opinion...and inducer motor was cleared of water, flu unclogged, fan wire reattached to circuit board and furnace working for $345. Awesome Home quoted replacing flu, inducer assembly, and circuit board and stated heat exchanger showing deep heat stress...asking if we had carbon monoxide detectors. Have images from closing inspection three months ago to reasonably prove Awesome Home technician cracked our circuit board and snapped off a screw attempting to reattach a wire for fan.
