A friend of mine was the proud owner of a beautiful wingback chair. I admired this chair for years and always joked about being the proud recipient of he ever tired of this comfy chair. Well, out of nowhere, sometime later, I was gifted said wingback. WOO HOO!!!!!! SCORE! I love this chair. The only downside was that the main cushion had shown considerable wear in terms of its 'loft'. It had been worn in wonderfully and it was pet of its charm. After using it for some time, I started to wonder if I should replace the cushion altogether. There was a zipper to remove the cushion but matching the shape was proving to be difficult. I figured matching the leather of the cushion would be impossible but I didn't care. Still loved the chair. I started calling furniture stores and repair shops. Every quote was starting in the hundreds. YIKES!!! Then I happened upon 'Olympic Upholserty'. I spoke to the owner (Chris, I believe) and he had an answer to every question I posed. I love when folks love what they do and I could tell this man had some experience/ years in this business. Turns out, OU has been in business for over 50 years!!! WHAT?!? SCORE! He proceeds to ask me if the cushion was removable. I verify and he tells me, they can cut replacement foam w/ no issue. WHAT?!? "Im on my way" **grabs car keys** Upon arrival, from the exterior, it's evident this place has been around for quite some time. If you blink or don't know where ur goin EXACTLY, you'll miss this place... and that would be a shame. Once inside the feeling is like that rare shop that has been around for every and sells stuff like antiques or lots of tchotchkes all over the place but you don't see anyone. Then a head 'pops up' out of nowhere. That happened here. Very pleasant man. I bet he's a good story teller. He leads me to the back (warehouse area) and after looking at the cushion, I'm taken farther into the massive inventory and led to cushions, foam, and batting. He has me feel the three types he feels would be best for chair. It was a very 'Goldilocks' moment. I felt them, sat on them, bounced up & down and chose. It's that type of service I LOVE & covet. Moreover, his price was exponentially lower than ANY other place / chain I asked. Definitely the best price in town. TRIPLE WORD SCORE!!!! YES!!! Other places told me they needed anywhere from a week to month to fulfill my ask. Here, I was told to come back in four days. WHAT?!? 'Are you suuuure'? Then I'm told since they do everything, in house, and everyone really knows what they're doin, costs can be cut to get the job done. Lovin this!!! I leave. I return four day later and this cushion is lookin' BRAND SPANKIN' NEW!!! I get home and it's a perfect fit. Looks showroom ready again. I couldn't be happier with this service. Olympic was recommended by someone in my area. All I needed was a chair seat reupholstered and the would back arms and legs painted black. I asked for head to head Upholstry nails--- which was how the chair was originally completed in. When I went to pick up..... painting had to be touched up and the nails where incorrect..... SO I went back again...... still the nails were not head to head. SO today my third trip there...... I review the chair and it looks good.... I get home and see that they cheaped out and use tacking strips for nails. So not head to head... (strips give illusion of head to head and they insert a nail every 3-4 space). I am sick and tired of them..... how many trips do 8 need to make for them to do the chair. Be very careful if you want something done. read more

If I could give them 6 stars I would. I've used Olympic twice for the same sofa. My sofa has 'good bones' and it made more sense just to reupholster it. Chris and his crew were awesome. The turnaround time was so fast and I will use them again. I've even referred family members. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Olympic Upholstery. They were recommended to me by a friend and they didn't disappoint. Jason was quick to provide a quote and answer questions. We went to the shop to drop off our chairs and pick a fabric and Chris was so helpful in guiding us to something we were looking for. The price was very reasonable and the chairs were done quicker than expected! All around great workmanship and customer service. Only con is the shop smells of smoke which meant our chairs came home with a slight smoke smell, but Febreeze got it right out. HIGHLY recommend. read more

I took a bench and 5 yards of material to this place on the recommendation of a neighbor. What a mistake! I was told that the bench would take 3-4 weeks to reupholster, so I was quite surprised when it was ready in a week. I picked the bench up and, unfortunately, I did not unwrap the plastic until I got home. The seams had been placed front and center on each side of the bench, so there was no way to camouflage them. Additionally, the seams were poorly glued and uneven. The corner folds were also very sloppy. Since they only needed 2 yards of the material, I didn't understand why they chose to put the seams where they did (they said it was to match up fabric). Again, I had 5 yards of the stuff and the pattern was scattered dots, not exactly a complex pattern that had to be matched. I emailed Jason who emailed back to apologize, tell me he would take care of it, and to bring the bench back in. I did. Four weeks later, without a word from Jason, I emailed him to check on the status of the bench - no response. A week later, I emailed again. I heard nothing. I called and left a message two weeks later. Still I received no word. I finally went into the workshop two months after returning the bench and spoke with Jason. He pointed to the bench near his desk, which is exactly where I had left it two months prior. He said they had been very busy Now, when I left the bench (at Jason's suggestion), I told him if something could be done, that would be great. If not, I told him to let me know if it was going to be a problem. I never heard a word. At the fourth month, I finally went in and took the bench home. What was the game-playing all about? What kind of business tells a customer that they will correct a problem and then totally ignore that customer for 4 months? I had not been demanding or rude at all and only left the bench because Jason told me that they would take care of it. My suspicion is that the upholsterer did not want to fix it and Jason (the owner?) was hoping his promise to remedy the situation didn't have to be put into action. I remain totally puzzled and frustrated over their business ethic. Maybe I should have been demanding and rude, but I trusted them to follow through. I have never experienced anything like this. Don't waste your time and money! read more

Took a treasured chair for reupholstering from my psychiatric office. For many years, it had received much woe from patients. It was time for it to have a new life. Olympic did an absolutely spectacular job, giving a new look with a complex reupholstering using beautiful fabric plus refinishing the wooden legs. Quite impressive. If you want them to actually do your order, you have to bug them, or they will never get to it (despite the "3-4 working day" promise). Then make sure you call before you come- or they still might not be finished and you will have to wait. But the worst aspect of using this company was getting a product that was far harder than I had been promised. I wish I had gotten to select foam density for my sofa cushions but the young man who took my order to replace the compressed old cushions said he knew exactly what I wanted (I said it has to be really comfortable) and that I should just trust him. The result is a sofa that is rock hard- I think they must have used a really high density foam. I also thought they would replace the fabric covering the old foam was encased in, but they did not- just stuck the foam, covered in a thin layer of batting, right into the covers. read more

I had two matching chairs reupholstered by this incompetent company. They picked up my chairs, and I gave them the designer fabric that I bought. I went over the fact that the material was called clouds and the clouds went up in their design. However when the chairs were returned, the fabric was placed upside down on the chairs and they did not march up the design on my 2 chairs so that if you put them side by side you would see the fabric design placed in a different line across the back and front of the chairs. These were high end chairs and the new fabric was high end. When I complained, they told me they would redo them, but I had to pay for new fabric after they ruined it. I agreed to buy fabric again but now they are telling me that the chairs look fine and the fabric can go on either way. I will have to pay for them redoing them and the fabric. They charged me $700 to do the 2 chairs and my fabric cost close to $500, they ruined my fabric and did a mismatch of my chairs. I can't believe they think I should pay them a second time to do the chairs as well as pay for new fabric. They do terrible work and expect you to pay for it a second time. read more

The finished chair brought tears to my eyes when I saw it, as a lot of love was given in this chair through the years in my family.
