I…read morehad seen some bad jobs by others in the past, but Jason Brown's work was excellent, on floors that had seen better days. He replaced some damaged boards with original wood that was a perfect match. He also worked with them as they moved their furniture and went out of town for the weekend, during which time he completed the job. Jason Brown did an equally fantastic job with our house. We had not moved in, so we all had that to our advantage. He refinished our original early-20th century hardwood floors with inlay strips around the edges, as well as newer bamboo floors in the kitchen. We went for no stain. Jason's knowledge of historic flooring really showed in our conversation during his site visit. He was so professional and accommodating, even though I'm kind of a jerk. The job went perfectly smoothly and quickly, completing our whole downstairs in two days. I admittedly didn't get other estimates, as his price didn't shock me and I knew I could rely on his quality, service and schedule. We couldn't recommend Jason Brown Wood Floors any more highly! Hopefully he will still be willing to come back and do our upstairs!

The salesman, Scott, helped me through the entire process. He came to my house and measured and called me within a few days with an estimate. When I went into the showroom again, he had several samples picked out in my color range. He did not try to sell me the most expensive carpet or padding, but recommended a very nice quality. About three weeks later, it was installed. The two men who did the install were on time, very polite and respectful of my home. They did a fabulous job. A representative arrived, on-time, with some samples. She provided an estimate immediately. Scheduling the service was also very easy. Work was completed in a timely manner and the space was left clean and complete. I also used their services a second time. Again, easy scheduling of an estimate. The rep brought carpet samples since I gave her an idea ahead of time. Note: for certain jobs you may be able to visit their showroom to look at remnants. We were given a price and the contract was signed that same day! The agent came the next week to measure her floor for the exact measurements and once Chris had the info he called back & the price did change by about $1k but still an excellent price! She put a deposit down when we first went there then paid the rest of invoice when they scheduled the installation. We don't know time frames for ordering products but it took over a month before she got another call to schedule the install. The installers came yesterday & were very professional & did a good job. They even matched up the molding coming into the kitchen & around cabinets and walls and it was perfect. It did take all day but overall great work and again the floor looks amazing.

Had high hopes for Top Notch Flooring America after friends had several very positive experiences…read morewith them. Unfortunately, our experience was the worst we have had with a contractor over 52 years of being a home owners and four houses. Our young salesman is apparently the owner's son. When we made our initial selection of LVP flooring, he said that the material would be received by them in a week and a half and installation would be schedule in about a week and a half after that. At about the time the product was to be received by them, we received a call from another employee stating that the product would not be produced by the manufacturer for another month and a half. ( The salesman should have checked availability before providing an approximate installation date.) Back to the White Marsh store we went to select a different flooring. The second selection arrived and installation was scheduled. On the day of installation (it was to be a two day installation which the salesman failed to say), Lou and Dan arrived. The installation involved the removal of cut stone tile and mortar. The installers failed to put up any dust barriers as contractors had done to protect the rest of the residence from dust and debris. The installers put dirty had prints on the walls and adjacent flooring. To add insult to injury, they "glued" down a stair nose piece and a transition flooring strip using latex caulk rather than a true adhesive which was totally ineffective. Top Notch partially reimbursed us for the Merry Maid cleaning crew we brought in and one of their employees did come and properly glue down the stair nose piece and the transition flooring piece. Viewing all of the other very positive reviews of Top Notch, we were very surprised by our experience. The salesman, Joey Jr., was not as responsive as he should have been. The vetting of their installers needs massive improvement (BTW, our installers were not employees, but subcontractors). If you deal with Top Notch, use the Bel Air store where our friends had a much better experience. We will NEVER use Top Notch again!

But everything went great with Floors Etc. I got an estimate, met them at their showroom, picked my flooring and took a sample home, set up a date for install, and they showed up on time! They got the work done in a timely manner and it looks great. They were out of stock of the stair floor nosings, but got them and installed then a couple days later so no big deal. I am very happy with my choice.

My door was open ( I had over a thousand dollars in lights, ceiling fans, hardware etc) No one was there. I called Brian only to find he was on another job and had no idea where his men were. I didn't appreciate being pushed aside. Brian said they would be finished by lunch. They finished around 5:00 pm. The carpet needed some work because it wasn't seamed down on the seams. This is just to name one issue. I called him over 6 times and texted him over 5 times in a two month period. It was only after I threatened him with small claims court did he finally fix that issue. A year later I needed my carpet stretched. Stupid me who obviously didn't learn the first time, once again many attempts to reach him went unanswered. He's rude, his work is less than satisfactory. In fact, I'm going to hardwood because I can't stand the carpet and how it looks. There are too many reputable and responsive companies in Harford County that you can save yourself the nightmare of dealing with companies like Brian's Carpet I'm only giving it one star because it's the only way to post.
