Great spiritual practice with good instructors. Really enjoy the singing bowls, bells, gongs and chanting that is used in most practices, something I don't always experience at other studios. I go to Daniela's restorative class at 7 on Sundays. The studio advertised the wrong time which screwed me up. I am not a fan of management, but I love Daniela's class. I am not a great yogi, so I need a lot of help and she makes us beginners feel very comfortable as she puts us in the proper positions. For someone with a bad back, I cannot tell you how much better I feel after the class. This is a new class for me, but i am hopeful for the first time in a long time that I can get my back in better shape because of, in part, Daniela's class. If you have pain and you want a strong yoga class, but aren't an expert, this is the best class I have ever found. Indeed, I have taken a lot of yoga classes as well as personal instruction and I think Daniela has a special healing quality about her. Can't recommend this class enough. read more

I really enjoy the many aspects of the Om Culture Greenlake and Wallingford because the teachers really think about how yoga supposed to be truly delivered to practitioners. It is also nice that this is not heated yoga, especially because I am from the view that hot yoga created by machines distracts from the practitioners awareness of tuning into the true body. There are also varieties of other events to choose from such as dances, sound healing, circus arts, etc. The instructor Tami Hafzalla is amazing, and she really understands the Sanskrit and yoga sutras. read more

I have done yoga at quite a few places in my life. This was the first place I went to check out here in Seattle mostly because I heard of the $99 deal for 2 months unlimited. I am def taking advantage of it. The studio is lovely and so far the people I have encountered here are great...maybe that's a yoga thing though:) I did a Vinyasa class level 2-3 and it was great, I love the instructor and the whole practice was awesome.I also tried a Hatha level 1-2 and it was exactly what it's description is on the website. So far I have no complaints about the place, although I did drive around in a square for awhile trying to find parking around the studio, but that's not a huge deal comparing with yoga! I guess I will have more to say when I try other classes from other instructors... read more

YogaLife is a great studio! I love where its located, but more importantly, I love the yoga instructors. The teachers are sure to give you many posture options, thus catering to all levels in the class. The room is not heated but warm, which I prefer over the "yoga in an oven" style. I personally didn't find the classes to be crowded, and it is clean and well maintained studio. I would recommend YogaLife to anyone searching for a great yoga studio. read more

I've enjoyed classes at both the Queen Anne and Greenlake studios. The instructors are kind, well-trained, and cater their classes toward students' abilities. My only concern is that some of the teachers use incense during their classes and I'm sensitive to fragrances. Lately, I've asked that instructors not use incense and they have all been happy to do so but I wish I didn't have to ask. I only want to inhale air during my practice. That said, I am still rating this studio five stars because of the quality of the instructors and the atmosphere. read more

Yogalife Queen Anne- I love you. When I had my super stressful Internet job, you were the only thing that I looked forward too in life. Now that I have a nice relaxing corporate job, I need to come back to visit you. Their intro classes are amazing. I sometimes sign up for them just as a refresher course. I love the space, the pace and the teachers. This is a great place for new people to Yoga as well as people who want to take it to the next level. A friend of mine took me to the Green Lake Yogalife studio and the classes were great and a good place for someone like me, who is a beginner in the yoga world, to go to and feel comfortable. Unfortunately, one of the teachers (she teaches classes at both the Green Lake studio and Queen Anne) is not someone who conducts herself in an ethical or appropriate manor regarding her relationships with her students. She started to become friends with my friend (who had also brought her boyfriend to the studio) and then this yoga instructor started dating her boyfriend. Situations like this happen in the work place, but when someone chooses to be a yoga teacher, with that comes accepting an ethical responsibility that this particular teach doesn't have. I don't think it is right to say her name, but I do want people who go to the Yogalife classes to be aware so they can ensure a similar situation doesn't happen to them. read more

Every teacher I have experienced offers clear and careful instruction. There are a variety of classes and in each one you are supported to move in ways best for your own benefit and well-being. I recently bought a 1-month pass and although I've liked the classes, teachers and staff, when my month is up I don't think I'll purchase additional passes. The studio is very charming & cozy --- too cozy! They don't limit class size so the studio can get so crowded that you're crammed in like sardines, unable to fully extend into the poses for fear of thwomping the nice lady next to you right in the face. Students can't practice good form because of the space constraints. Too bad -- it's a great studio! read more

This is a wonderful, serene yoga environment a block up from the lake. The studio is very clean and inviting. Instructors often dim the lights at night, light candles, and play calming music. There are plenty of mats and equipment provided for those who need. LOVE! read more

Yogalife is a fantastic studio-- excellent teachers and a client-base that the owner, Michael, and teachers care very much about. I moved to Seattle 3 years ago and had been searching for a studio that I really connected with. I tried out 4 or 5 studios before I bought a Groupon to try out Yogalife. I immediately fell in love with Julia Simpson's Vinyasa I/II classes. Julia is a fantastic instructor and her classes are the perfect blend of physical challenge and meditation. Last night, I was in sore need of a good yoga fix-- it had been a tough week and I was really looking forward to some much needed time on the mat. Unfortunately, due to a scheduling issue, the regular instructor didn't show (which had never happened before), BUT the owner/instructor Michael stayed and taught the class. He asked if anyone would really prefer him to teach a class vs. getting a free pass, and I was so desperate for some some yoga that I asked him to stay. He happily obliged as he could tell I was really needing a good class. My day was made and the whole experience sums up why Yogalife is fantastic. read more

This studio rocks. Great space, fantastic instructors, good location, classes accessible for all levels of practitioners and for all schedules. Of the instructors, I've practiced mostly with Maria. She is an amazing teacher. Her warmth, respect and knowledge of yoga permeate her classes. I love this place. The space is clean and open, the location is great and the classes are held at all times of the week to make it super convenient. The variety of classes of different styles and levels are great. But the greatest part (of course) are the instructors. I've worked with Maria and Erin the most, and I can vouch for their amazingness. The philosophy of "embrace the teacher within, and adjust the pose as feels right for your body, don't worry about what you look like to other people" really speaks to me. I lived in Seattle briefly, and ever since then I've been searching for a yoga class as great as what I found at Yogalife in Greenlake. I went to the Friday night Restorative Chakra Yoga class several times, and every time I left feeling rejuvenated and emotionally restored. One day after class I asked Julia (? I think it was Julia...) if she could recommend a book about the chakras, and before I'd even finished the sentence she was excitedly telling me about one she loved. Yogalife, I love you! Moving to Seattle a while ago I decided I wanted to start regularly practicing yoga and chose Yogalife for its' proximity to my apartment. They also offered beginners classes and that seemed like a good place to start. All the teachers I've had there (Heather, Michael, Laura) have all been great. They're helpful, patient, attentive and knowledgeable. With a pass my classes end up being about $11 a session, which I understand to be fairly cheap for Seattle. The studio is nice and the fact that things are provided makes it all the better. I can't speak for all the teachers or classes, but the Hatha classes with the teachers mentioned above have all been wonderful. Can't recommend Yogalife enough! read more

I discovered Yogalife on my way home from my Acupuncturists office. The two month unlimited for $99 was an unbeatable deal. A year and a half later and I'm still head over heels for this studio. I like all the teachers even though their styles vary greatly; but that adds to the value of the studio because you know that you'll get consistently good instruction but learn something new about your body or your own practice at the same time. read more

i signed up with yogalife long ago before they had computers, because of fran gallo, an amazing teacher. and then promptly yoga fell out of my life for some reason. in november i started up there again, because i knew fran still taught there, and i saw a groupon deal. ten years after my commencement, it finally sunk in, and i was a lifer. little did i know that my life would take me on a three month quest outside of seattle in which the only stabilzing thing i would have would be those sun salutations that i originally despised. so here i am, back in seattle for two weeks with a 5 class pass that expired two days before i arrived, and man, am i starving for a class. STARVING. so i go to the studio while they're closed and see Michael through the glass, and i say, " i'm fran's student, i live in brooklyn now, i'm completely broke and my class card is expired, but can i please use those classes? i'm desperate." and he just looked at me, nodded at me with complete empathy and understanding, and extended my end date. that is the epitome of true customer service, and community. read more

I absolutely love the Greenlake studio. I've attended various Hatha and Hatha Flow classes and they have been fantastic. I particularly recommend Laura H's 6:30 am Hatha Flow I/II class - I am not a morning person at all and I have been going regularly and feel great all day afterwards. There are a variety of classes available all throughout the day, which is very convenient. Other teachers I recommend are Maria (Hatha), Michael (Hatha), and Liz (Hatha Flow). Liz's practice is influenced by modern dance, which I love. The passes are decently priced and they have great new member specials. Mats, blocks, blankets, straps and balls are provided by the studio. Several people have mentioned crowding, but at most of my classes that has not been an issue. Saturday classes, though, are usually more crowded. Great location, great teachers, great classes. What more could you ask for? read more

Yogalife Greenlake is a very welcoming, cozy studio. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help answer individual questions. I like the fact that not any class is too crowded, although some teachers are very popular, so you should get there early if you want to be in front! The classes are challenging but can fit to your style (as yoga should). It is also situated near greenlake, where you can pop in for some yoga after a walk or run! read more
