Second my child is arriving after the first day stating he was only given crackers and apple sauce. No other food provided all day and he doesn't eat apple sauce. Second day I pick my child up and they put him in the car with wet pants. I asked him what happened and he was very specific he peed on his blue bed during nap. We have provided not one but three sets of clothes in the event of an acciden. Why was he left in his wet pants till 2:45 pick up? All he mentioned is being told to be quite. No play time, No stories. Nothing. At drop off he has a melt down every day and there has been no betterment. We are already considering having him removed and reporting the facility to be inspected.

I understood that spray bottles may have been used outside to help cool children off in the summer, but what I saw concerned me enough that I asked administration for a meeting to better understand the policy and whether spray bottles were ever used for anything other than cooling off. When I spoke with Lauren, I did not feel my concern was received well. The conversation focused more on my wording and whether I was accusing the school of abuse than on giving me clarity about what I had seen. I left the conversation feeling that my concern as a parent had been met defensively rather than constructively. Because of that interaction, we withdrew our child that day. I had a positive impression of some parts of Goddard overall, but based on my experience with this specific location, I would not personally recommend it.

We were planning on homeschooling but I still wanted our kids to start with some school environment experience. Smyrna Montessori School was everything we were looking for. My children get lots of individual attention, are encouraged to explore and learn as much as they want and have had some wonderful friendships develop. There is a strong sense of respect modeled through kindness towards the teachers, classmates, learning materials and the world (cultures, the environment). The teachers love my children like they were their own and are passionate about the Montessori style of learning. Both of my children have gained a lot of confidence and independence since they began there. If I ever have a question I can set up a time to talk with any teacher. I'm always impressed with how aware they are of everything my child deals with on a daily basis, what their strengths are, how much progress they have made in areas of behavior, character and learning. I do wish they extended beyond the Primary program (3-6 years). I don't think there is any problem with illness any different than any other school environment. I don't love that the lead toddler teacher spot has changed hands a few times, but I understand that when a teacher has a baby she will want to take time to be with her new baby. This has been the only reason for teachers leaving that I am aware of. Those teachers have stayed in contact with the school and return for visits when possible. We feel very fortunate to be at Smyrna Montessori School and are so happy it opened at the perfect time for our kids. And as far as safety goes, our children are referred to as precious gifts, children are not allowed out of the classroom unless a teacher or parent is with them and the school and yard are secured during the day. I have no concern for my children's safety at all. Montessori is a different approach to learning than what a lot of people are used to, but for us it has been perfect. Oh, and I LOVE that I get an email and photos every week from each of my kids teachers touching on what the kids are working on and enjoying and some explanation about the Montessori process.

I attended the 6 week CNA course at this facility and I'm more than pleased…read more Although I still haven't taken the state certification exam (due to Pearson Vue, not myself or this school), I am still consistently getting work from what I learned in this class. It is affordable but there are some hidden costs that aren't mentioned immediately; scrubs, specific shoes, blood pressure cuff, state exam fees, but these are things that are reused during my career. It is by no means a waste of money but it is an added expense that I hadn't foreseen. Ms. King, the instructor, is a fair, concise, and quality educator. A large part of the coursework focuses on the elderly, which is always a growing need in the work world, but I've met and worked on an ongoing basis for people who are not nearly as needful and codependent as the classwork assumes. It is great to have that information, but it's not the only option for caregivers. There are a LOT of jobs available with this completed coursework alone. This class certification has basically saved me from complete ruin after losing my job to Coodies-19. Without giving out personal information on my clients; they are each lovely individuals who happen to need some help. They are truly kind people in their own rights and their needs are not necessarily hospital level types of care. This arrangement suits me personally and I am able to take care of myself financially while awaiting the state certification process. I highly suggest this school to anyone interested in making a career choice into healthcare and does NOT want loan debt or years of invested time.
