Rudy and his team at Payless were top-notch, professional, and do business the old-fashioned way. We got a few bids and Payless' prices were slightly more reasonable than the others, and they came highly recommended from a list of service providers from my Dallas Newcomers group. As an interior designer, I have worked with many contractors and sub-contractors and most experiences have been so-so or very negative. But Payless exceeded all my expectations-- the employees were very professional, eager to please, and actually nice to have around! This made a stressful experience so much more pleasant. They did fine work-- drywall, painting, and laying limestone on a bathroom floor. After they finished and I had paid, I noticed a couple tiny flaws and Rudy, the owner, sent out his guys right away to fix them. Rudy was easy to communicate with and very efficient in completing the work, which took a couple weeks. I wish all contractors knew how to do business like this! Highly recommended!

I found Jaron Lucas to be a real treat to work with. He was required to repair a stair step that had been damaged from water damage before new carpet installation. For multiple days over the past 5-6 months they blocked alley and driveways of neighbors with vehicles, equipment, piles of dirt, rock and sand. When asked to move vehicles or supplies the crew acted like they didn't understand English and when my husband asked in Spanish they were offended asking why are you speaking in Spanish. They could have parked on the street or used the home owners driveway for equipment but just to make it convenient for them the rest of us are inconvenienced.

It took months, but he was able to get the insurance to pay for what needed to be done for the roof to be installed correctly. I appreciate the time he took to do this. The installation was organized and completed in one day. The installers were professional. Extra care was given to make sure there was no damage to the property. Clean up of all materials was excellent. I feel I got a quality roof with a lifetime warranty because of his certifications.

Wesley showed with helper, and they quoted me an amount. We set the date for work on the next Tues. On Tues. They did not show up, but called. They had a man out, and could they come the next Tues. Okay, sure I should have stopped at this point, but I didn't want to start over. The worker showed up, late, and after awhile he came to the door, and said he was finished. Then he tells me he found a leak they hadn't seen before, and he went ahead, dug a hole, fixed it, and covered it back. But he had a picture of it on his phone. I tried to pay him, but he said I'd be billed. I sure was and it was twice the quoted amount. I was so mad, but I'd definitely handled it wrong, so I went to pay it. The inv. was emailed through Quickbooks, and they wanted me to enter all my banking info, to pay with a check. I may have some gray in my hair, and I may have handled this all wrong, but I'm not handing out my banking info to strangers. If I wanted to pay by credit card, I had to let them know, because they would reinvoice with 3% for me to charge it. I had to walk away I was so angry. 24hours later I got a dun notice. They definitely understand brass plumbing. They reinvoiced and I've paid. It's sad because I had a lot more work they could have done. Someone else will be doing it.

Hubby noticed a Salas Services truck and work crew down our street. They were working for one of our neighbor who sadly lost a huge tree in their front yard. They told us they could get to us in a few days. A few days later the crew got to work. There was a branch stuck horizontally between two other branches and they were able to remove it along with some other damaged branches. They did a great job and did so at a fair price.
