After that crazy storm that rolled through the north Dallas area on 5/28/24, we found ourselves in need of some emergency tree trimming services (like most people in the area). Hubby noticed a Salas Services truck and work crew down our street. They were working for one of our neighbor who sadly lost a huge tree in their front yard. They told us they could get to us in a few days. A few days later the crew got to work. There was a branch stuck horizontally between two other branches and they were able to remove it along with some other damaged branches. They did a great job and did so at a fair price. I know that during emergency situations the price can often skyrocket (supply/demand) but they stayed fair. Great customer service and work ethic! read more

Salas was working next door to me and refused to take a dead shrub on the property they were actually working on. The two adjacent neighbors (me and the other adjacent neighbor were tired of looking at this dead shrub, and there was the Salas team with chainsaws, a chipper shredder and strong young men to dispatch with the shrub. However, Jonathan Salas was not friendly and not helpful. Said he had to check his work order. Made me very angry. In the end, however, after being a real jackass, he ended up taking/shredding the shrub anyway. I believe that he didn't want to be asked what to do by a woman, particularly a neighbor that hadn't hired home directly. I would not recommend Salas to anyone after this incident. Everyone knows that there may be a work order in place, but that things can come up during the job; and that the right thing to do is to have an open mind and take care of business. Not give the neighbor a hard time for suggesting that work get done while on site. I've been trying to help these neighbors who were not at home at the time. I will discontinue trying to be a good neighbor, especially when having to deal with poor services like Salas. Oh, in closing, let it be known that the pot and soil that the dead shrub was actually planted in were mine. I had tried to help the neighbors save this shrub when they had to uproot it/move it to put in a pool. Since it had died, I wanted my stuff back, and I wanted Salas to take the dead shrub. I was, obviously, asking too much. My fault entirely, but Jonathan Salas is still not friendly and not helpful; he definitely was not trying to win my tree service. Hah! read more

Very pleased with our tree removal experience overall. Joseph responded quickly to our request for an estimate, and explained in detail what the removal process would look like. A very efficient crew of 8 people showed up early and made fast work of removing the tree and grinding out the stump. We did not need them to haul off the tree because pick-up is included in our city utility fees. They offered a reduced haul-off fee on the morning of removal, but we just didn't need it. They ended up taking the largest pieces with them anyway. All told, it was less than 48 hours between making our first phone call for an estimate until the tree was gone, and their pricing was very competitive. Highly recommend! read more

In late July, Salas Jr with Salas Services came and ground down two stumps. Then in September I contacted them asking them to come back out since both stumps continue to grow. I was told the information would be relayed and someone would contact me to take care of the situation. It's now mid November and I've called multiple times, left messages but no one has called or returned to kill the regrowth. The stumps/growth are on the side front of the house with easy access so there is no reason it hasn't been taken care of. I paid good money to Salas and deserve better. D. Braden read more

We scheduled a meeting and within 48 hours all work was done on 4 live oaks and other smaller ornamental trees in the yard. Salas Services did a major tree pruning/clean-up for us yesterday. We have a HUGE live oak, yaupons, and photina trees that they worked on. Their services exceeded our expectations. Joseph Salas came to our home and assessed the work to be done. He provided a professionally done estimate complete with photos that same day via e-mail. We had a few questions that went back and forth before deciding to proceed; he answered each, promptly and thoroughly. The morning of our appointment, the crew, headed by Eric Salas, arrived actually a little earlier (per our request) than our appointment time, and set to work. We had several workers with top of the line equipment....they were impressive! We did not expect this, but they brought their own chipper and hauling truck, so there was no debris piled up for the city to come pick up. The work they did was exceptional, and they bent over backwards (almost literally!) to make sure the yard was left in near-pristine condition.
