We've been using Omega Security for the protection of our home for over 2 years. We are extremely pleased with the excellent service that we have received from them. Their monitoring service is top notch and they are very quick to call when the alarm goes off. We previously had our alarm system with a very well known large security company and Omega Security's Customer Service and Monitoring Service is much more superior than my previous company. When we had our system put in by Omega, they recommended that we install a carbon monoxide/smoke alarm that would be connected to their monitoring service. They said we should have one since our home has natural gas. Having this alarm in place was a life saving device recently. On the first day of our home renovation, Omega's monitoring service called to let us know that there was a very high and dangerous concentration of carbon monoxide in the home. We immediately called the contractor and told him of the problem and that the workers needed to get out of the house. It appears that the machinery that was being used had created the accumulation of gas in the home. Omega's service immediately dispatched the Fire Department to our home to investigate the carbon monoxide. When they arrived they made the workers stay outside the home until the levels in the air had returned to normal. Had it not been for the carbon monoxide alarm, which Omega recommended, someone could have been seriously hurt or worse. We will recommend Omega Security to our friends and family and to anyone who needs alarm monitoring service. We have been so pleased with their service thus far, that we have recently purchased a camera security system from them as well. I can access the cameras from my phone at all times. I was a client of a company that Omega took over, I had been a client of that company for 10 years. Omega claimed they had to "update" the panel now that they had taken over, I told them that I would be moving soon, they insisted on coming by. I asked them to give me a quote on the equipment for the new house, they were too high. When I cancelled my service they claimed that I had a "contract" since I had updated the panel, a panel that had been updated at their request and after relentless harassment by Terri at their office. They sent me a bill for the entire year, since I moved and hence cancelled the service just a few weeks after they came by. When I refused to pay they sent the bill to collections. These people have no integrity and are dishonest to no end..the type of people you don't want looking after you or your loved ones. read more

Normally I am not a person that writes reviews but always reads them. Omega Security is one that is extremely worthy of a 5 star review. Several years ago I was forced to move to a new home security company because Brinks was no longer servicing my area. I reached out to Omega and a couple others and landed with Omega. Never have I regretted my decision. The team support you get from the outside sales rep to after purchase working with inside Sales and support is stellar. It's an amazing feeling to call the office and any time and get treated as if I was family. My service issues have mostly been to human error and normally handled over the phone. If a rep was sent out to help they pride themselves on send the same rep for consistency issues. I've been beyond bless to work with a service rep Angel and an inside sales Rep, Terrie Machado. They know my home and family and take my business seriously. They want to make me feel safe and secure. This is unheard of in today's times of send out a sales rep to obtain the sale and get the commission. If you are searching for a wonderful security company with extremely competitive hardware and software give a call to Omega. You will not regret it. I have been with them for many, many years and will not leave. I have a home with two elderly disable parents and adult children coming in and out all day. I am greatly displeased with the customer service received (or lack thereof) from Omega Security. An Omega Security technician finally came out to my place of business (Friday) about a week after ordering services through them to install some Honeywell thermostats to no avail; he spent the entire time on the phone with Honeywell's tech support trying to program the devices. I still received an invoice with a charge for an installation service although I had no properly-functioning devices. After a couple back-and-forths with Terri Machado through emails and phone calls, she asked me which model of thermostat and modules I had (Wednesday). I gave her the requested information and explained to her that I have these same models at five different locations working perfectly with a different company--that there is no reason they should not be working at this location. I even mentioned that I installed these "non-working" devices at one of my other locations and they worked fine. She offered to speak to the Chief of Sales to help me out with the cost of my chosen services and get back to me. After not hearing back from her for the rest of the day, I sent a follow-up email the next morning (Friday) explaining that I have gone a whole week without service for something that seems to be so simple to get working and regrettably see the need to look for service elsewhere. I was promised a call back but never got it. Over the next few days, I tried calling her office and cellphone, leaving voice messages on both and sent text messages to her cellphone but never received any reply. The next day (Thursday), I had a law firm representing me contact Terri requesting a copy of the contract for services. Over a month later and out of nowhere, I receive a 'Final Notice' email from their Billing Department stating that a specified amount is owed for an early termination of services and if not paid (within the next three days), the account will be forwarded to collections with an additional 30% collection fee. I have since contacted another law firm to help me with this matter. read more

I would recommend to avoid this company at all cost. The first thing they do, is sign you up for multiple years, even though i had my own equipment from before. They has me sign a contract for monitoring including a service contract in case something went wrong with my equipment. The first time i had a problem with a zone, they said our service contract is only good on our equipment not previously installed equipment. I asked why they sold me they then sold me the service contract, they just said well that was a mistake but if i sign up for another 2 years with a service contract, they would send someone to look at the zone with problem. Almost every word from them is a lie and they never honor anything. When i finally decided to leave them at the end of my contract, i found out that they had put a Installers lock on my panel, so that i could not transfer to another company. They offered to unlock my panel if i signed another 2 year contract with them. When i told them that i did not want to, they said i would have to pay them to send someone to unlock the panel for me. She sent me some contract to sign and send her my credit card and drivers license before she could send someone out. Since at this time i did not trust them anymore and did not want to sign anything with them, i offered to go to their office and pay them cash to come and unlock my panel. They said they can not accept cash. I have reported them to BBB, but they have not even responded to them. I had to finally change some of my locked equipment (that they had illegally locked without my knowledge) to get my system working again. The new company that i hired, after finishing the set up, immediately gave me the code in case i ever needed it or wanted to go with another company. He said its like selling you a car and keeping the keys. He is right, thats exactly what they did to me. Trust me, avoid this company at all cost, they are not to be trusted. We have been with this company for many years. Never a problem. When they asked us if we would like to upgrade our equipment I said great. They installed a new honeywell panel (but charged me $523 for it) along with a smart camera which was hooked to a doorbell. This never worked properly. After 2 attempts to fix it, the owner of the company told me "I have had problems with the camera and doorbell communication with the honeywell system." Here was the fix.... "Tough s...t Mr Lau.... and you signed a contract. I switched to a different service. After 8 years Omega is trying to hold me to a contract and will not reimburse me the $523 for the new honeywell panel. "Dont sign any contracts with companies like this" There's others out there that do not require a contract and dinosaurs like OMEGA security wont be around for long. The sad thing is, the owner could have taken a different route to keep me as a customer, but chose to go a different route. Stay away! read more
