Dellsubi - Surf & turf musubi

I have visited Dellsubi at events a few times over the years. I have a soft spot for musubi and I…read morelove that they get creative with toppings, sauces, and flavors. I ordered the OG Musubi ($10), Longsiliog Musubi ($11), two regular Thai Teas, and a Green Thai Tea ($9/each). The prices have definitely gone up over the years, inflation is hitting food vendors hard, and if you've seen the price of Spam in stores it's gone from a cheap eat to a pricey treat. The OG Musubi was good, but other than the delicious creamy cilantro sauce that comes with it, there wasn't enough to set it apart from other regular musubi in the area that would make me pay $10 again. The Longsilog Musubi was a fun creative change with Filipino sausage and egg, but fell apart while I was trying to eat it. It was delicious though! The Thai teas were about 12oz of tea (without ice) and were served in convenient bottles- I bought three of these without asking the price because I love Thai tea and I didn't have hands to carry and wanted to throw them in my bag for later. They taste great, and once you pour it into. a cup with ice it's probably equivalent to a 16oz Thai tea anywhere else. My favorite local Thai restaurants charge $5.50-$6.50 for their's and other vendors had supersized drinks for $15 at the same event. Definitely the price of convenience and pop-up pricing. The staff is super friendly though and you can tell they are working hard and want to deliver a delicious product to their customers. I would say there's currently some adjustment going on with inflation and business costs and consumer budgets and perceived value. If your pocket book allows I would still give them a try and right now I'd upgrade for the extra dollar or so for their specialty items versus the OG for something a bit different, it makes it worth the extra price for the creativity and novelty.

Honestly, it was 10/10...even after sitting out and getting cold! They served honey walnut shrimp, egg rolls, garlic noodles, and chicken, and everything was delicious. So much so, I had to ask them where they catered from! I recently stopped in because I've been on a seafood boil kick, and I'm so glad I did. Molly was our waitress, and she was amazing...super friendly, attentive, and very helpful with questions about the menu. She even told us about their Thursday karaoke nights. We ordered the seafood boil with shrimp and mussels in the Fusion sauce, mild spice level. The sauce was incredible! It had so much flavor without being overpowering. Next time, I'll definitely be trying medium spice. We also ordered the egg rolls, which were crispy, delicious, and served with lettuce wraps that made them even better. The sauce was sweet and salty. Great combo. The raw oysters were fresh, the garlic noodles were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and every dish we tried was excellent. The restaurant was clean, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was fun with sports games playing on tvs in the restaurant. The calamari was standard. Cooked well. Not overly oily. Loved that it had bell peppers incorporated. Great food, great service, and a great experience overall. We will definitely be back!

The meat had an old, unpleasant taste, and the crawfish were extremely tiny. Fusion sauce mix didn't taste right to me either. I was only able to eat about five pieces before I had to throw the entire order away. It was honestly so disappointing, especially considering how much I paid. The corn was also not fresh at all, it was extremely rubbery and tasted nothing like fresh corn. I feel like I completely wasted my money. If I'm paying for live crawfish, I expect to receive fresh crawfish, not tiny, old-tasting frozen ones. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

My Honest Review Customer Service: 4/5…read moreFood: 2/5 Damage: $80 What we ordered: * 1 Kaopoon * 1 Beef Larb * 4 Skewers * 1 Chow Fun Noodle Let me start with the good -- the skewers and Kaopoon were definitely the winners. Those were probably the best parts of the meal and what I enjoyed the most. The Beef Larb was a little too tough for my liking. It felt slightly overcooked and just wasn't the texture I was expecting. The Chow Fun noodles were also way too soft for my preference. I like my noodles with a little more texture, so these didn't really do it for me. Overall: 3/5 For what we ordered, $80 felt pretty expensive, especially considering the food was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but for that price, I expected to be more impressed. Would I go back? Probably not anytime soon. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but based on this experience, it just wasn't worth the $80 for me.

Next was dessert fried cheesecake was just enough sweetness. Not pictured had a strawberry and caramel drizzle. The only thing I wish was that the sushi chefs had more customer service along with our waitress. The sushi chef asked what sushi we wanted but never asked if we wanted or needed anything else or even talked to us at all. We ordered wine and she only came with one glass which doesn't make sense since I said we would like the same thing. Great place for families, date night.

The La galbi had good flavor as well. The soy garlic beef belly was okay, not bad but nothing set it apart. The banchan apps were good but the japchae was was really good to me. The kimchi was bland tho, made me sad because I love good kimchi. The bad: soda machine was light on a couple sodas I ordered. Later on in the meal they reset the root beer soda so I really appreciate the service for that. The vent hood was really low and blocked cooking at times but we understand why it's there. Some dishes were a bit odd like the popcorn chicken, which was mostly crumbs like the bottom of a movie popcorn bucket. Service was solid, Brandon our server was nice and gave us good recommendations. We would return and hopefully I can give them more stars on my next visit.

The lighting inside was bright and welcoming as well. We had a party of eight, and I liked that they seated us with two grills, which made cooking much easier for our group. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for a table, though I wasn't sure why since there appeared to be several open tables. Dinner AYCE is $37 per person. One thing I didn't like was how low the exhaust vent hangs over the grill. It made cooking a bit difficult. We raised it higher, but the staff lowered it again because there was too much smoke. The AYCE experience includes a two-hour dining limit, and you can order up to three appetizers and three protein selections at a time. The beef selection included many of the same cuts we usually order at other KBBQ restaurants. While the quality was decent, some of the marinades were underwhelming. For example, the soy garlic beef belly was topped with sliced garlic but didn't have any of the "soy" on it . The marinated finger ribs had a nice texture and chew, but I could barely taste any marinade. The LA galbi was one of the better options, and my orders were not overly fatty. The popcorn chicken looked like it came straight from the bottom of the bucket. Most of it was tiny crumbs and fried bits rather than actual pieces of chicken. I also appreciated that the pineapple was fresh rather than canned. The scallion salad was another highlight--it included lettuce and scallions tossed in a light soy-based dressing. Our server, Brandon, was excellent. Since it was our first visit, he provided helpful recommendations and made the experience more enjoyable. Service was efficient, and our food arrived quickly throughout the meal.
