    Lobster Roll
    Girlie M.

I've been here many times since we moved to Elk Grove, and I mainly come for their Fire Poke Nachos. I'll occasionally order the Lobster Roll for my kid. The nachos come with a choice of one protein, and I always choose salmon. They're loaded with spicy tuna, spicy mayo, hot sauce, surimi crab, jalapeños, and habanero masago. I usually remind them to go light on the sauce since there's already plenty. I also like to add furikake, garlic chips, and seaweed on top. I usually order this to go and eat it at home, and it tastes just as good as when eaten fresh at the restaurant. They also offer catering. They catered my friend's husband's 40th birthday party, and the oysters were a big hit. Overall, this is a solid spot for fresh poke especially their Fire Poke Nachos.

Great poke, great service, Hawaiian Ahi done right, and they serve dole whip! There were a ton of mix ins and choices and the bowls were huge. Don't forget to add the tempura crisps. 10/10

They don't honor their Happy Hour...I got their Aloha Poke Nachos on a Wednesday at 3pm and they didn't give me the 10% off discount and charged me regular price. They also put an overwhelming amount of toppings like seaweed salad and initiation crab to hide the fact that they give you little to no fish. While the worker was slowly scooping the fish in the bowl, he said that he could actually ring me up for it first before he even started making it. Kinda sus if you asked me.... I don't think he wanted me to see him make it. I swear he took some poke out the bowl. When I got it, I tried to look for all the pieces of fish and could barely find any. The amount I got, I could count on one hand...literally only 5 pieces of fish, and I'm being so serious. The wonton chips are super crunchy, like too crunchy. It's hard and hurts to eat because it felt like it was shredding the roof of my mouth. Anyways, I don't think I'll ever come here ever again. Not worth it for the price at all.

Not the best poke I've had but not the worst. Really pricey for standard bowls. The plus side is that the toppings are unlimited so you can choose as many as you want. It was definitely a LOADED bowl for what I got and this was the first place I've been to that actually weighs the amount of fish they put into it. Plus side is there's not too many poke places around town so I would recommend coming here if you're craving poke. Just be prepared to pay the prices. Inside was very clean and had a few tables to sit at.

Hokee Pokee had their grand reopening yesterday! The outside was decorated with cute balloons and they have a pretty wall for pictures! I visited during lunch at around 12PM and it was busy. I was surprised to see that they were giving 50% off each regular poke bowl, which is why it was so popular that afternoon. I am glad there was a limit to 1 bowl per person because more people can get a change to enjoy the food and not hold up the line with a big order that takes advantage of the deal. The line was almost out the door, but it moved fast because they were well prepared with lots of great, friendly workers. The portions are okay and the fish looked fresh! I should have gotten the spicy salmon and Hawaiian tuna because the seasonings looked delicious and I watched as they restocked it. Since I already said triple scoops of regular salmon and didn't want to mess with the employee's work flow, I decided to stick with my decision. They use an ice cream scooper for the proteins. When the worker was scooping the fish, I noticed sometimes that they did not do full scoops. I'm not the type of person to say anything about it and will take what I can get. They give a good amount of sauce with their pump dispenser. I got ponzu and original shoyu. I heard from the person in front of me that it will cost extra for a third one. For my additional toppings I got edamame, crab salad, masago, cucumber, onions, mac salad, and dried seaweed. The rice was very hot and I feel like I can taste rice vinegar, but I'm not too sure if the acidity is from the ponzu sauce. Overall, the food was pretty good after I mixed everything in. It would have been even better with more salmon, because near the end of the meal all I had was some rice with sauce.

Came here for late lunch with my cousin wanting to explore some new places and it was good! I wouldn't say it's the best poke you could get but I would come back if I was in the area. It seemed a little pricey to me compared to other spots in the greater Sacramento area, but the fish was fresh and tastes good. I had tried the spicy tuna and it wasn't too spicy but had a nice kick. The restaurant was clean and staff were nice. We sat outside since the weather was good.

Atmosphere is cozy and warm, have a photobooth section where you can check in as well ! A lot of FRESH topping for only $35, we have to split it out 2 meals, service is nice, the new owner, Kenneth and his staff are really friendly and passionate about this business. The remake is real and I wish them the best. Highly recommend !

Aunt was craving for some poke after a long road trip. Found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. It was a very quiet evening, but that just means no line. I had to order for everyone since they don't know what they want, 3 regulars. The fish looked fresh and the staff were very patient with our orders as they were preparing for online orders as well. Overall, it wasn't bad. If I were to do it again, I'd have them put less sauce. I was overwhelmed and eventually became too salty for my taste. The fam thought so as well. The ratio between what was given and the price, I thought it was a bit too much - from what I'm used to in LA or Hawaii. $76 for 3 regulars. We could get a nice Chinese family dinner at a restaurant. So this is a one time thing for us.

50% off reg poke bowl at grand re-opening

Been going here for years until one day I showed up and there was a sign on the door that said it was reopening soon under new managment. Nothing on any socials that I could find mentioned it and no hours were updated but I was willing to excuse that. The resturant has a more modern vibe to it now which made me a little sad but still no bid deal. However when i got the 50% poke bowl today at grand reopening I wasn't impressed. They used to measure their fish scoops with a scale. Now they dont and I got way less fish than i'm normally used to. Got maybe 9 edamame beans, hard nearly inedible avocado, and a couple bites of seaweed. On top of that their soda machine is still out of order, and the bottled sodas they have aren't cold either so I had to ask for a cup for ice. The rice and fish tasted alright but the shrimp they use now is tiny comparatively. They also removed yellowtail from the menu. Also kinda sad that they dont seperate the ingredients in the bowl like they used to. I think the old method gave for a nicer eating experience and presentation. Overall its just very different from the hokee poke I used to love and it didnt feel like they were grand opening ready. Ill probably swing by again in a few months to see if anything has improved.

Was feeling adventurous today and decided to try a new spot. Can't believe no one told me about Hokee Pokee! I got the large Ahi bowl with edamame, cucumbers, crab salad, habanero masago with spicy mayo and wasabi breeze. The flavors were wild to say the least! Generous portions! The staff was friendly and relaxed. He explained the process to us very well. The environment is very chill. Also ordered spicy poke nachos to go for the wifey. Can't wait to go back.

Been my poke place all throughout high school and after living in Socal for college, Hokee Poke is still good! I was actually blown away by the price tho...Not even any of the poke places I tried in LA past $20 phew. Serving size filled me and that's another plus!

Ordered the 1 lb of Poke, but they don't really give you an actual 1 pound
    Kurt D.

1 lb. poke is not a true 1 pound. 16oz equates to a pound. I will attach a pic of what my food scale at home says; only 14.7oz. "Shrink-flation" and skimming at its finest

The Hawaiian Ahi Tuna and that F&T Mix (the pre-marinated ahi and salmon combo) taste like they were cut that morning. Genuinely fresh, no fishy aftertaste, just clean and buttery. Seating is a nice surprise too. Plenty of room inside if you want the AC, but the patio is where it's at on a nice day. They've also got a solid drink selection, so you're not stuck choosing between two sad fridge options. The staff make it. Friendly without being over the top, quick to answer questions if you're new to building a bowl, and they actually seem happy you're there. For the portion size and quality you're getting, the price is more than fair. This is hands down my favorite place for poke in the area, and I'll be back before the week's out. Five stars, easy.

Some of my favorite sushi rolls are the Smokey Peyton and Bruceville Roll, as well as their Salmon Lover Roll -- it's refreshing and light. Their poke bowls are another favorite of mine. I usually like to build mine and go with the spicy salmon and their spicy tuna and salmon mix as my protein choices. You can also order their poke à la carte -- 1 lb is $18. Before that, I remember when this spot used to be Tasty House. Small parking lot shared with a smog station off of Stockton Blvd between Fleming and Chandler/66th, a block south of Florin. Super small dining room capacity too, I'd say maybe less than 50 people? I've also tried their pork katsu appetizer and caramel matcha with salted cheese cream. This most recent visit, I was torn between the katsu or katsu curry donburis, but ultimately went with the tamagoyaki unagi don and a caramel milk tea. Shared the chicken karaage which was perfectly breaded, crispy, thick and juicy with every bite just like last time. Honey mustard dipping sauce on the side. Also shared one sushi taco (this time salmon/sake) and Mom got the beef gyudon. Other than matcha or milk tea, they also have seasonal drinks like guava, butterfly tea, ube, peach oolong, Japanese coffee, etc. Next time might go for a ramen to try or that rich curry udon dish. I will also say a sushi taco is easier to eat than a handroll or a sushi burrito. The wooden spoons were interesting for the rice bowls. The portions are pretty big and this cute little spot in South Sac is worth checking out! Open 11:30am-9pm daily.
