The classic Dellsubi Musubi. Big fat deliciousness.
    Lillian W.

Ohh this pop up kitchen catering business popped up in a form of a food stand at holiday crafts fair. The menu centered around fresh made, hand crafted gourmet musubis. On the spot, these made big, fat gourmet level musubis filled with fresh ingredients with Asian fusion of flavors. I say gourmet because the flavor profile and presentation elevated these suckers to the next level. The cashier was welcoming and kindly answered questions without batting an eye while keeping a smile. I ordered the Dellsubi "OG". It was gorgeously presented. So pretty with the drizzle of sauce and layering of the fresh brightly colored microgreens. But wait...let me tell you, it was capital D..Delicious. All the flavors blended well together. Marinated grilled spam, seasoned rice, furikake, nori, unagi glaze, and microgreens. Ohh it was served fresh made with the hot fresh grilled spam and warm rice. If that was not enough, they provided a container of dressing. But clumsy me, I accidentally spilled it before I could try it. I can only imagine that would have elevated the taste which already is Delicious. So if you see the Dellsubi pop up, check 'em out. Also if you're interested in their catering service give their website or IG page a a look.

Dellsubi is a small family pop-op kitchen located in the Elk Grove / Sacramento area. They specialize in handcrafted musubis made fresh-to-order. While they stay true to the musubi's roots and focus on traditional Hawaiian and Japanese ingredients, what sets them apart is their incorporation of Filipino and Southeast Asian flavors. Given the pop-up nature it can be a bit of a challenge to anticipate where they'll be next; fortunately, they have a website and Instagram account, which they keep updated with their latest events so you can always be in the know! I was lucky to happen upon Dellsubi at the Asian Pacific CultureFest happening in Elk Grove last weekend, and what a treat it was! We got their longsilog musubi, which is a nod to longsilog a traditional Filipino breakfast dish consisting of longganisa sausage, sinangag (garlic rice), and itlog (fried eggs). The musubi version of this dish consists of the traditional rice base, longganisa sausages, and a layer of egg on top. This unique take on musubis was reminiscent of the traditional spam ones, but with a Filipino twist by substituting the spam for longsilog. Overall, the dish made for a delectable bite, perfectly pairing the savory flavors of the sausage together with the sweet egg. After finishing the musubi, a part of me still wanted to go back for more despite how full I was from all the other festival treats, guess I'll have to wait til next time to try another one of their flavorful creations. If you're looking for some high-quality musubis and to support a local business, I highly recommend giving Dellsubi a try!

Honestly, it was 10/10...even after sitting out and getting cold! They served honey walnut shrimp, egg rolls, garlic noodles, and chicken, and everything was delicious. So much so, I had to ask them where they catered from! I recently stopped in because I've been on a seafood boil kick, and I'm so glad I did. Molly was our waitress, and she was amazing...super friendly, attentive, and very helpful with questions about the menu. She even told us about their Thursday karaoke nights. We ordered the seafood boil with shrimp and mussels in the Fusion sauce, mild spice level. The sauce was incredible! It had so much flavor without being overpowering. Next time, I'll definitely be trying medium spice. We also ordered the egg rolls, which were crispy, delicious, and served with lettuce wraps that made them even better. The sauce was sweet and salty. Great combo. The raw oysters were fresh, the garlic noodles were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and every dish we tried was excellent. The restaurant was clean, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was fun with sports games playing on tvs in the restaurant. The calamari was standard. Cooked well. Not overly oily. Loved that it had bell peppers incorporated. Great food, great service, and a great experience overall. We will definitely be back!

I came across edamame under appetizers. Based on the description, I ordered it. I love me some spicy edamame, especially when it's seasoned very well. I got my order to go, got home and when I opened the edamame, it was not what I expected. It was sitting in liquid. The description of the edamame under appetizers says nothing about it being in any kind of liquid or sauce. So I revisited the establishment tonight, which is Friday (the next day). I explained to the employee taking my order what I expected based on the description on the menu and what I got. I even showed her pictures. She said she's never seen edamame made that way (not in sauce) even though there's a picture of it being made that way under their Yelp profile. There was no attempt to rectify the situation so I left it be but it is a bit disheartening to order something with a specific description, then you get home and your order is not what you thought it would be and then there is no recourse provided. Based on this experience, my tip for future patrons is to ensure you get clarification on an item if you are trying it for the first time because it might not come in the same way it is described on the menu. I've been in contact with some very personable employees here who are amazing when it comes to customer service so I will definitely be back. And that salt and pepper shrimp has me in a chokehold LOL. I just wasn't a fan of this experience. But I do recommend this restaurant. Great food, great drinks and great staff!!

It just tasted like chopped beef. it looked nice. but lacked any flavor. 1/5 would not recommend. Nam Khao w/shrimp - this was delicious, the rice was extra crispy which some may not like. but I enjoyed it. The shrimp needed some of the same seasoning. It tasted overcooked and plain. but all in all I enjoyed it. would get again 5/5 Lao style papaya (medium) - no. This missed the mark by a long shot. It tasted like thai style papaya with a dash of tamarind and fish paste. It lacked the strong smell of Lao style papaya and lacked the strong acidic taste. It was very light with a hint of acidity. My heart goes out to everyone affected. RIP to those who lost their lives--sending prayers, love, and strength to their families, friends, and the entire Z-Town crew during this incredibly difficult time. Z-Town was more than just a spot to eat and drink--it was a place where memories were made. I'm grateful I got to experience it. Hoping one day something can rise again in its place. So my kid somehow dropped her AirPod case on the floor and poof BOTH of her AirPods disappeared ‍‍. Everyone scoured the floors and searched the cameras and looked in all the nooks and crannies. New theory, the kid somehow took her AirPods out of the case and had them on the seat and got distracted (as teens with delicious food in front of them tend to do) and the AirPods fell into some hole on the booth before her case even fell on the ground. ‍‍‍ Either way... major thanks for taking the time to dismantle to booth and find them! They didn't have to but they did! Saved me $89*2 for replacements and saved my kid from having to continue to face my disappointed mom face.

The La galbi had good flavor as well. The soy garlic beef belly was okay, not bad but nothing set it apart. The banchan apps were good but the japchae was was really good to me. Later on in the meal they reset the root beer soda so I really appreciate the service for that. The vent hood was really low and blocked cooking at times but we understand why it's there. Some dishes were a bit odd like the popcorn chicken, which was mostly crumbs like the bottom of a movie popcorn bucket. Service was solid, Brandon our server was nice and gave us good recommendations. We would return and hopefully I can give them more stars on my next visit.
