I was glad a fellow Yelper mentioned this place was next to the Exxon... definitely helped since there are a couple other bars nearby. The first night (yes, went here two nights in a row!) had salad and small pizza and my ds had wings. Second night they were slammed and decided to only serve pizza. The service was adequate... they brought us the food and drinks ordered. The pizzas are really good and hand made... we spoke with the woman who throws each pie dough by hand. Both pizzas over two nights were delicious. My salad was pretty good too since it was nice leafy greens lettuce (not iceberg). There are a couple of tvs showing the main sports of the day... in our case we watched a bit of FIFA football (soccer). The AC fan was blowing into the middle of the restaurant and couldn't get away from the cold air.

The restaurant stays busy -- there was a bit of a wait, but this is a busy national park, and anywhere you go at rush is going to have a wait. The servers were fantastic, and all helped each other out. The pizza was amazing. The dough is home-made every morning, and is neither too thin nor too thick. We got a half cheese, half ground beef 12" and it fed two hungry adults. I only wish we had tried this place before our last day! We were seated right by the window, and had an excellent view of Swiftcurrent Lake. My wife and I came for dinner, and I started with the Bison Chili as an appetizer. It was nice and hearty, and had a spicy kick to it as well! I enjoyed it, and would recommend it. For my main course, I ordered the Braised Bison Short Ribs, which came over mashed potatoes and veggies. The short ribs had decent flavor and texture, and the mashed potatoes were tasty. I didn't have many complaints about my meal. My wife ordered the Grilled Salmon, which came with veggies. The salmon was overcooked and dry, and didn't have much flavor. She was pretty disappointed in her meal. Our service was ok - they forgot my chili, so I ended up getting that after my main course came out. The pricing is definitely on the high end, and in my opinion, isn't all that worth it for the food. You're paying for the view and for the fact that there aren't many other options.

We decided to try Island Thyme Food truck. First, the colors attracted me and the owner of the food truck was very welcoming and explained the menu for us to consider. Because it was hot, I wanted something light and refreshing so I ordered the rainbow bowl. Delicious! Quinoa at the bottom of the bowl, and topped with black beans, sliced purple cabbages, small pieces of sweet potatoes, salads, carrots, and sweet Thai chili sauce. Overall just a refreshing delicious bowl of yumminess. I love the sweet Thai chili sauce to give a sweet and tangy taste. Again, I'm a huge fan of food trucks and food stalls and this was a great food experience! Relaxing hang out place with friendly folks (I'm pretty sure most are visitors as well staying at hotels nearby), picnic shaded tables...what else can you ask for? If we're ever back in the area again, we'll definitely try other menus!

That wasn't an issue since we knew it was closing time but I did ask if they had time to make a to-go order. He was happy to oblige and I'm so glad he did. He directed us to a garden area overlooking a water area and we sat hoping to spot a moose. He did tell us they had spotted 2 bears walking through earlier. The outside dining overlooks this same glade making its nice place to watch for wildlife. We'll be back when in the area.

He let us know that it might be a minute since he had just taken a large group's dessert order. He meant no harm and we knew that - cultural differences in speech delivery. We saw quite a few teen aged workers at our time around GNP so we wondered if there's a work program. Anyways, with the view we had, he could take all day. We got our drinks which were so good. Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time. My steak was a tad overcooked but it was still delicious. A train came by during our visit which was so fun to watch! Unfortunately, they ran out of the huckleberry cheesecake so I did not get to try that - super bummed! I can't remember how much the bill was, but you expect to pay more in a place like this I guess. The menu is smaller and all the options are very pricey with options of pasta, pork chops, chicken, trout and filet. I ordered the French Dip sandwich and it was good. Given it was $17 I was expecting higher quality so I was a bit disappointed. The bread itself was simply a hotdog bun it tasted and looked like. The beef was tender but I would have liked more than a few slices of it on the sandwich. Au jus on the side was delicious and nice to dip the sandwich in for more flavor and moisture since the cheese was minimal and there's no sauce on it originally. On the side are house made chips that are pretty plain but dipped in the au just made them better. I also got a Huckleberry lager that was refreshing but didn't really have a strong huckleberry flavor. Overall, the views are beautiful and staff is great but the food is average especially for the high prices.

The fried dough is the next thing I would recommend. I typically like my fried dough a little less dry but if you're looking for dessert it still hits the spot. The burger is unique and something different for sure. I think it needed condiments and lettuce or tomato, not sure if that was an option. I wish there was more native cuisine, I think tourists would be open to trying it for sure. We were also glad to support a local business. Good service and friendly staff. The breakfast was the best food I had gotten on my 10 day Glacier vacation and I can only recommend it. Prices were very reasonable (especially with all those tourist spots nearby) and portions were filling. I won't try a different spot for breakfast on this side of Glacier anymore.
