Was in Glacier National Park after 9/10/23 when most places close up for the season so it was a godsend Summit House Steakhouse was still open and what a gem! We didn't have a reservation for our party of 7 but the owner/manager was very kind and was able to get us in within the hour. The wait went by fast because the restaurant is situated high up in the mountains with a view of the meadows often visited by wildlife and we were so lucky to see a big moose strolling by! The food was delicious too! Great ambience and service! Yelp says they are open til 8pm but restaurant sign says 9pm and owner/managed stayed open well past 9pm to accommodate people like us - tired hungry hikers after a long day in the beautiful Glacier National Park!

    Huckleberry cheesecake - a must!

Stayed at the Lodge and ate here both nights. As evidenced by pics (no pics night 2), the first night was better but we enjoyed our experiences both nights. Overall, it was a treat having the statehouse at the resort. Definitely the nicest option for miles. Both nights it was very busy so seems people who weren't staying at property came just for the food. The restaurant is small with only a handful of tables inside and a handful outside, but a nice setting. Incredibly friendly staff! They allowed me to change my meal a bit which was so nice. My aunt loved her pork tenderloin and the off menu ice cream with huckleberry sauce she was given both nights. I highly recommended the huckleberry cheesecake! The second night we both got the salmon and it was just OK. Wine selection was good, although I wished there were local wines. Pricing was reasonable. Each night I spent $60 for my meal which included a main dish, dessert, wine, tea, and a 20%+ tip. Added bonus were the views. Even though we sat inside, the large windows allowed us to catch beautiful sunsets over the water that runs through the property.

There are very few choices in terms of dining near the Two Medicine lake area. The restaurant is nice in a ranch setting. My husband & I both ordered the ribeye. I like my steak on the rarer side. Mine came out more like a medium, the main reason is how thin the steak is. Being a ranch in Montana, I thought this would be prime meat region, maybe my expectation is unrealistic. The steak was juicy fortunately.

Pork tenderloin in front, beef tenderloin in rear.

The food was delicious. Surprisingly, the pork loin was more tender than the beef tenderloin. They did run out of iced tea which both of us had.

Definitely our favorite restaurant in Montana. Not far from Glacier National Park (southeast). We had a wonderful dinner at the steakhouse. Went here with my family and it was wonderful. We made a reservation earlier in the day- but I'm not sure that's necessary during the week. We asked to be seated by a window, but honestly all views in the restaurant are terrific. Unfortunately the night we went it was only open until 9pm and the sunset isn't until around 10:30 which was a bummer because the other pictures posted on yelp of the sunset look amazing. We had a variety of things on the menu (we each have our own taste buds) and everyone loved what they got. I had the wild prawns picatta which was AMAZING. Great flavor and portion size. During our meal, the server came by to let us know that there was a moose in the lake outside! Overall, great food and ambience- which is something I didn't think I'd find in the middle of Montana. Highly recommended!

Found this by chance leaving East Glacier! We were starved and wanted a good meal. This place is awesome! If you want a gourmet meal that is filling as well as delicious, you've found the right place! The atmosphere and service was superb! Indoor or outdoor dining!

Dinner tonight was amazing! The beef tenderloin cooked just as my husband loves it Rare & the gorgonzola sauce was to die for. I had the pork tenderloin with huckleberry sauce also so flavorful. Service was spot on view was great next time we want to stay in one of the cabins. I wish we lived closer to enjoy it more often.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Summit Mountain Lodge for our final night within the Glacier area, and we were both excited to try the steakhouse. We were not disappointed! The restaurant and menu are both fairly small, but I think it adds to the elite and specialized service they offer. They seem to have daily specials too that are not on the regular menu. My girlfriend had the fresh salmon that was one of the specials, and I had the flatiron steak, also a special menu item. Both were fantastic, savory, and well-crafted with fresh vegetables. The wait staff was incredible, everyone pitched in to ensure our dining experience was the best it could be, and the owner stopped by more than once to check on us, our food, and our service. The atmosphere is hard to beat, right on the southeastern perimeter of Glacier National Park with granite peaks towering near the lodge/restaurant and a beautiful creek and pond between. They have a deck for outdoor seating where we watched the ducks in the pond and kept an eye out for other wildlife on the slopes in the distance. We then had a perfect view of a brilliant and vivid sunset afterwards. There aren't a whole lot of options for restaurants on this stretch of Highway 2, but this gem is a must!

We've dinned here multiple times every time we go to Glacier National Park…read more Pros: - Great customer service - Their homemade bread and homemade ranch tastes amazing. Probably the best we've ever had - All the foods we've order tasted great (chicken, bison steak, ribeye, t-bone, crab meat) - All locally sourced foods - Nice Ambiance and love all the wood structures. Cons: - Not sure if I'd consider this a con, but everyone we've dinned here, something is always different (different salad toppings, different sautéed veggies). But I completely understand being it's in the middle of "no where." - Very pricey, but once again, they're not opened year round and it's all locally sourced. You would probably pay the same price in the city for high quality meat, but at least here you're helping a small community! - My only con- I prefer my steaks with no pink and well done (I know, I know). Cut into your steak as soon as you get if you're like me so you can see if they need to cook it more. You're steak will most likely be undercooked, but it's because they're THICK pieces of meat (which is a pro) We will be back the next time we're in Glacier ^_^ 2022- 2024

Our server Melissa was top notch, super friendly and helpful. Great service here…read more The steaks were cooked a little rarer than what I'm used to. But the flavor and tenderness was great. The bread was kind of bland, but fine with butter. It seemed denser than what I am used to. The baked potato on the side was amazing. The Calamari was prepared differently than what I'm used to, I wasn't as into it, but it tasted good. The fillet of tenderloin was by far the best of the 3 steaks. Much more tender and much better flavor. I highly recommend it. We got the Molten lava chocolate cake, and it was not as good. Seemed too doughy. Didn't really like it, also didn't like the cheesecake. Restrooms were stocked, but their soap was weak. The restrooms weren't very clean, and you had a lever to turn off and on the water to the urinal in the men's bathroom. Odd.

She made mention that it was locally owned, AND it was the only one of the 3 restaurants she named which was open before 4pm, which is when we were there, so we trekked on over. We arrived behind a large party of about 8 people and were the only other table in the restaurant. They - or should I say he - took our order quickly and were willing to accommodate a special request (to have a breakfast dish after their stated cutoff time due to a wheat allergy; almost everything on the lunch menu is breaded/fried, so I couldn't eat it). It was clearly Native-owned, which I was happy to support. However, the poor guy who took our order was the only one in the place. He was doing everything: stocking, cleaning, taking orders, cooking. We were there for nearly an hour when the other party's food came out. By this point, we had figured out that he was flying solo, so we were sort of hoping our food would come out at the same time. It didn't. We asked if ours had been started yet, and it hadn't. Seeing that we were staying 3 hours from the park, we had to leave to meet up with our family without having any lunch. This could easily have been avoided with a little communication from the get-go: "Hey, a large party just came in ahead of you. Just so you know, it's probably going to be an hour or more before you see any food." We would have left then and had time to get lunch before starting our drive back to Augusta. As it was, we paid for our 1 drink, made do with whatever snacks we had, and hit the road. Can't comment on the food and the guy was super nice, so I hate to leave a not-great review, but I can't imagine what would have happened if 2 or more of the parties from our boat ride had arrived at the same time we had. I think a little work on the staffing side would do wonders.

I decided to try the Lychee Basil Martini- not too sweet or dry. I recommend this if you like a refreshing cocktail. Then I was torn because I had to try the poke! It just sounded delicious so my friends said they would have some too. 3 of us shared this and my picture was after we all took a little. (Oops) This was so delicious- don't miss eating the seaweed too! It was perfect pairing. I decided on the chicken because of the starter. And my friend said it was so tasty. My friend didn't lie! The spices used were outstanding. I normally don't order chicken in a restaurant but this is a definite thumbs up! Finally for dessert - the huckleberry Oreo mud pie. Pro tip: let it sit & melt for a few minutes because the flavors really come out the longer it sits! Dinner fabulous We didn't make a reservation & got lucky they had a table open. Wait staff was very helpful and nice. Prices - very fair especially for a fine dining restaurant. I hope to return the next time I visit my friends. As my first trip to Montana I loved it and can't wait to return.
