I had two problems that needed to be addressed. I had a fairly new toilet that hadn't been set…read moreproperly and was moving around the floor and leaking. Also, the cold water stopped working in my shower, making the shower unusable. I lost my husband this year and am never sure about what to do when things go wrong in the house, since I never had to address those problems in the past. I called 1-Tom and they made me feel completely confident about my choice. Right from the start, I liked the fact that they answered the phone and I didn't have to keep pushing buttons to get to the right person. I was told that they stood behind all their work and they would make sure I was satisfied with the outcome. Before Alex came to my home, I received a photo of him. He was confident and friendly and I immediately felt I was in good hands. Originally it looked like it was going to be a bad situation with the toilet and that the floor might have to be torn up. Alex showed me what the problem was and I could now see why the toilet couldn't be installed correctly in the first place. Alex called his boss and discussed what needed to be done. He was able to do it without damaging the floor, which was a huge relief. I trusted that 1-Tom did the best job possible for me while avoiding major repairs. I would definitely use their services again and recommend them to my friends.

Would highly recommend this company. In addition they fixed a few issues with our master bath shower head/handle and toilet. The company was really great, they sent me a bio and photo of the person who would be coming (which I appreciated for safety and professionalism), and the man who came was super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He also had some great suggestions and input on the project and location in the house, in terms of what's best to save money and simplify all the moving parts--which I really appreciated. Pricing was also good and very reasonable. Would definitely recommend them and also use them again going forward.

Too many teams had come up at my door and I was not in my best senses. In any case, first couple weeks of destruction process, everything was going smooth. My only issue with the workers was that one of them stole my mom's $3200. After confrontation, the owner found out and gave mom $3000 and we were assured that the culprit was let go. My trust was wavered by then but we continued with them because the owner returned mom's most money. However, the fire soot had damaged everything and I was assured that we will be able to total it all. Buy later we discovered that much was claimed as restored but here I thought that it was damaged for claim. Everything boxed up, but not protected well and seemingly left on damaged property to collect dust and debris and exposed to weather elements. During inventory process, we trying to look for a gold chain that should have been stored as well but was never found. It was a disappointment that alot claimed as cleaned and useful was also not protected well to keep so nothing was actually kept. I'm not sure who was at fault in all this but all parties involved say that it is up to the restoration team to have moved items that were worth keeping off site. Maybe it isn't this company at fault for miscommunication or mismanagement. But when we attempted to get info on some items, there was no feedback in the end. Towards the end, we couldn't continue with same to move items from property in order to prepare. I'll give you this, They were great with the demo part. Fast and furious. I am not confident about restoration, but that could be because my stuff was truly not restoration worthy. But because a big chunk of claim went to dry cleaning (stuff I never kept) and here, I lost a lot of potential claim amount.

They use deceptive trade practices and first get their victims to sign an AUTHORIZATION TO PERFORM…read moreSERVICES and DIRECTION OF PAYMENT Agreement. They gain your trust by getting your home owner's insurance info and telling you they'll deal directly with the insurance for you. You're vulnerable, your home is damaged, you believe them, then they have you sign a contract with NO DOLLAR AMOUNT. When I signed the agreement, I had my own independent inspection conducted by a licensed mold inspector from an Environmental Company that included a full protocol and an estimate to complete the work that was $3 - 7K. East Coast Environmental Restoration agreed to follow the protocol and agreed that the cost should be close to the protocol's estimate and that is how part 1 of the scam begins. Once they have control of the insurance company payments, they then figure out the maximum amount your insurance company usually pays for such a claim and they then bill your insurance company that amount. The insurance company approves the claim but East Coast Environmental Restoration does not do all the work. They only do just enough to make it seem as if they did, which is part 2 of the scam. The scam on you. THE SCAM: It is the, we get paid no matter what, clause in the contract that reads... 'If for any reason, client receives a check from Insurance Company made payable to Client, Client agrees to pay provider immediately upon receipt of the check." This clause says THEY GET PAID EVEN IF... - They do not include a dollar amount on the contract or provide you with --The Statement of Work or even the estimates or invoices that they provide to your insurance company. - They bill your insurance company $21,475.28, which is more than 3 times the estimated cost ($3000-$7000) included in the protocol you provide them with by a licensed mold inspector & environmental company - They violate several OSHA standards - Whatever they do get done is shoddy work. - They do not even complete the work in the initial protocol that was quoted at $3-$7K. - You have recorded them on video not following the protocol outlined by the environmental company. - Your house still smells like mold. - You get sick from the smell of mold. - You have your final mold inspection conducted that exposes the shoddy work when East Coast Environmental Restoration says their job is 100% complete but then they refuse to do all the remaining items listed to complete the new protocol outlined by the final inspection. - Your insurance company recognized your situation and issued the final check to you in your name because East Coast Environmental Restoration did not follow protocol and your house still smells like mold. - Your insurance company says not to pay them until you are satisfied or find someone else to complete the job. - You have someone else complete the job properly. - They engage in unfair debt collection practices by having someone call you several times a day screaming at you and threatening you. They reveal their scam by saying, "No matter what we did or didn't do, you signed over the insurance payments to us so that money is ours!" East Coast Environmental Restoration did ALL of that to me and wants me to pay them the "final payment" of $7975.36 for services they did not render or complete! Don't let this happen to you. Avoid East Coast Environmental Restoration at all costs!!
