This dentist's office is a hidden gem that you absolutely must visit! I had low expectations going in, considering it's a dentist's office. Who's excited about that? But upon my arrival, I was greeted with a warm seat and taken back for x-rays almost immediately. Yes, I already had an appointment but there was nearly no wait! , I was treated with the utmost respect. They took their time to ensure my comfort before performing any operation. They're skilled and knowledgeable, using cutting-edge technology to their advantage. Their friendly and helpful nature made me feel at ease. They're always ready to answer any questions I had, ensuring that I was fully informed and comfortable throughout the procedure. Usually I have an exceptional experience at Omni Dental but there was a very long wait for the dentist after the hygienist finished cleaning my teeth. I waited in the chair for at least 15 minutes. The dentist did not apologize for the long delay, which I found interesting and out of character for the practice. read more

They re-cemented a bridge for me. They were prompt to give me an appointment the next day. Everyone was very nice and friendly, from the receptionist to the person who reviewed my insurance, to the dentist assistant, and the dentist himself. I was most impressed with the assistant (I am sorry I don't remember her name). She was a perfectionist in one word. Very "aware" of every detail, careful when preparing everything for the DDS. She was doing everything 90% of the time, the dentist came basically to cement the bridge back in place. I am very pleased with everyone. Excellent team work! Thank you! read more

Unhappy with billing process They billed my son for a cavity filling before they would schedule the appointment to do the filling. So charging ahead for a procedure not received. My experience was top notch, I had to have an extraction and I felt no pain at all from start to finish. Dr. Hanlon and Amber did a great job. I really appreciate the level of service at Omni. My tooth was bothering me and they were able to move my appt up to the next day. Turns out I needed a root canal and thus a cap. I wanted it done ASAP as I had a trip. So they made appt that fit well enough before my trip. But then there was a cancellation the very next day, and the staff remembered that I wanted to get this done as fast as possible, and they called me and I was able to make the appointment very last minute . I had my cap on my tooth within 10 days of the initial appointment. I'm very appreciative to the staff remembering me when the cancellation happened It made all the difference to me. Update: A few weeks ago Dr. Hanlon prepped me for a crown and a temporary was put in place. I've had several fillings done in the past, but never a crown so I didn't know what to expect. I dreaded this procedure so much because I get terrible anxiety when having dental work done (due to horrible past experiences elsewhere), but I knew it needed to be done - I didn't want to keep putting it off and end up needing a root canal. Everything went well during my first appointment. That evening, I received a text message from Dr. Hanlon checking in on me - he wanted to make sure I was OK and said he wanted me to have his number so I could get ahold of him if I needed! Who does that?! I have never, ever, had a provider do that before. I already knew from my first visit last summer that I'd be an Omni patient for life, but this sealed the deal. After my numbing wore off, I had a little discomfort while waiting for my permanent, mostly sensitivity, but nothing unmanageable. I knew this would probably happen because my tooth was very sensitive at times even before my procedure. Plus, Dr. Hanlon discussed this with me and it's in their post-op forms. Fast forward to today - I had my first-ever crown put in. Not going to lie, I was very nervous. Only because my tooth had been bothering me and it was making me anxious. (I never called their office about it because I'm stubborn and figured I'd just wait it out.) I kid you not - as soon as the numbing wore off, the sensitivity/dull ache I had been feeling the last few weeks was completely gone. Like magic. Dr. Hanlon and his staff are the best of the best. They are the kindest group of providers you'll ever meet. They take their time with you, answer all of your questions, and make you feel like you're the most important person in the room. Sorry (not sorry) for the long post. I'm posting this update for people like me, who have terrible anxiety about dental work, and for anyone who has had bad experiences elsewhere. Because I want you to know dental visits don't have to be scary. There really are compassionate providers out there who genuinely care about you and your well-being. My 3 year old had his first cleaning. the hygienist, Hannah, was so great with him! she was slow and calm and interactive with him that he didnt feel scared and was able to sit through the whole cleaning. the dentist who saw him was also great. he got down low when he spoke to my son and also made him feel comfortable. By far the best dentists office I have been to. Hannah, my hygienist was both friendly and informative, explaining many of the steps she went through while doing my cleaning. Most hygienists are friendly, but the explanation I really liked and found interesting! Dr. Bono is also equally friendly and talkative. He felt like a friend, not just a dentist going about his day. He's also thorough and noticed something that my past dentists have never noticed, so points there as well. Finally, the ubiquitous goodie bag even managed to make me happy. I'm a sustainability nerd, so not only was the bag itself recyclable paper, but the toothbrush they provide was bamboo (a renewable product) in a recyclable paper box. read more

I've been a patient here for over 2 years and they always find new ways to impress me. The doctors and assistants are so friendly and caring, and the offices are modern and relaxing. They just completed renovating the McMurray location and the expanded space is really beautiful. I recently started a new job and am now under a different dental plan than I had previously. I think the new provider is smaller and more obscure, but Dena called the insurance company and made sure that I was covered. I was honestly terrified that I would have to leave Omni and find another Dentist...that's how good they are. Don't get me wrong...I still hate Dentist visits. I have given great thought to whether I should post this review, but I am still shocked that I was charged $75 for giving 22-hour notice of a cancellation. My work often requires a change of schedule and I understand that businesses must be given adequate notice. Considering this practice maintains a cancellation list, I fully expect the appointment I cancelled was filled with another patient in the 22-hours notice I provided. The staff member seemed to take great joy in collecting these unearned funds and upon requesting my family's medical records, since I will never visit this practice again, I was told to "have a great day!" Fees are the focus here. read more

I did get a same day appointment which was nice. I was extremely anxious and in very severe pain. They seemed unprepared to deal with emergency situations. My options were not well explained, and the bedside manor of the assistants only served to increase my anxiety. When the dentist put a large needle in my mouth without really addressing me, or what he was doing I had a panic attack. No attempt was made to reassure about the service, no offer was made to start antibiotics and schedule to come back to reduce the risk of pain. They refused to write me any prescriptions and referred me to a clinic booking 3 weeks out. After a quick search Three Rivers Dental group got me in the same day for assessment. Wrote me a prescription for antibiotics and painkillers, and scheduled me 4 days from now to have it removed. That is 5 star service. read more

My appt was at 8 am but I wasn't taken to the treatment room till 8.10 am. And didn't really get to see the dentist till Almost 8.40. Before that, the assistant came took an X ray but she kinda left me there after that. I just felt like they were short-staffed. Dr Nickman did some examines on me and she was actually quite thorough. I expressed my concerns and she listened with her heart. You know sometimes you can feel if a doc really cares or pretends to be nice. Nickman really cared. Hang on to your wallet! Took XRays on my first visit, found a dark spot in the bone under a tooth that wasn't bothering me in the least, and immediately recommended an extraction and implant. I declined. Went in later for a cleaning (which was excellent I might say). Justin mentioned that a couple of my crowns were worn away and maybe I should consider having them replaced. He didn't ask me if I wanted them replaced and I didn't ask to have them replaced. Then I stopped at the front desk on my way out and was asked when I wanted to schedule my crown replacements. I was caught off guard and scheduled, but quickly realized how unethical that was. I cancelled and won't go back again. I have since switched to a dentist who cares more about the patient than his wallet. read more

Due to insurance change I made an appointment for exam and cleaning. I left the office very disappointed. I have had periodontal disease for over 40 years and have maintained cleanings 4x a year. Because of the COV19 I only had 2 cleanings in 2020. I desperately needed a cleaning but was refused by the hygienist. referred me to a periodontal specialist. I gave them my concern that I could not wait another 30+ days for another appointment. Knowing my mouth they should have done the cleaning and referred me for my next cleaning. They left me without service and to make my own appointment. My preferred service did not have an appointment until 4/27. I was however able to make another appointment with a specialist because they had a cancellation. I found the service disheartening and irresponsible. They denied me care I needed and scheduled. My disease had continued to improve with the prior services I received and the exam I received from the specialist did not show the immediate need for a deep cleaning. This is the problems with insurances and providers not participating. read more

I was an existing patient at Omni Dental Mcmurray. I had my teeth cleaned last Wednesday and started to experience facial pain & swelling the following day. I called Omni to see if I could have an emergency visit last Thursday because I was fearful that i had a tooth problem. They couldn't see me that day but could fit me in Friday afternoon. The front office staff member lectured me about not following the dentist's advice about getting a new root canal on a tooth which already had an existing root canal. I postponed that treatment because I had no discomfort nor did I have the financial resources. She made me feel guilty about calling. By Friday, I was having severe pain and more facial swelling. I had to present to Med Express in the am. The Dr. at Med Express felt it was facial cellulitis due to an ingrown hair follicle in my nose and prescribed an antibiotic. I cancelled my appt with Omni Dental. By Saturday my facial swelling and pain worsened and I presented to Presby ER on Saturday and Sunday, was diagnosed with an abscess and underwent a procedure to assist any draining of the abscess. On Monday am, I was having some drainage behind my front teeth and was worried that my teeth may be involved. I stayed home from work again and I called Omni. Again, they had "no chairs available" to see me. They lectured me again, chastising me for not pursuing another root canal on a particular tooth without even having me go in for an exam. No compassion was expressed to me for the pain and suffering I was experiencing. They offered me an appt for another day. My wife called a little later to plead for an appt. AGAIN, she was told about my noncompliance with this one upper tooth. My wife pleaded for an appt and they finally offered an appt in 25 min. There was no way I could drive and get there on time. We expressed our confusion and frustration over the obsessive comments regarding my tooth and told them all we wanted was to have the area checked to see if it was indeed a dental issue. When I explained that I was seen in the ER etc., for cellulitis, the Omni staff member stated that "they are not dentists", they don't know". We finally gave up and saw a new dentist who saw me immediately as an emergency new patient after she heard what I have been through. She took panoramic X-rays and performed a thorough exam. She enlarged the X-ray which showed no infection in my teeth and THE TOOTH WHICH OMNI DENTAL SAID REQUIRED ANOTHER ROOT CANAL WAS PERFECTLY FINE!! THE EXISTING ROOT CANAL IS GOOD and THE TOOTH IS HEALTHY! This was the reassurance I needed. Needless to say, I called Omni Dental after my appt and told them that I was given inaccurate advice by them, which could have been a large of out of pocket expense. I am really disappointed in my care at Omni Dental in McMurray. My advice would be GET A SECOND OPINION and find a dentist/dental staff who exhibit some compassion and understanding. A patient in pain does not need to be lectured, made to feel guilty especially when it was totally unnecessary.... I didn't need the recommended root canal and it would have taken Omni 15 min to tell me that my teeth weren't the cause of my abscess! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. They quoted me $0 for a procedure. When I got there they administered novocaine. While I was waiting for the dentist to return, the business manager came in to tell me that my insurance "may" not pay and I "could" be charged $1200. This is something that should have been figured out prior to quoting me $0 and at the VERY least discussed with me prior to novocaine. I believe their plan was to wait until I felt I was too far in to refuse treatment. This is completely unethical! read more
