Usually I don't have a problem when riding with Omnitrans as a student, but in my past few trips I was given a harder time to get on the bus. I let the driver know I'm a student and show my student ID that says student on it but they seem to not believe me and give me a hard time saying I need to buy a bus pass or scan the app. I've never had to do that before. I don't always have to do this but I've noticed that recently they have been giving me a hard time and once I asked around, other students are experiencing similar issues when trying to ride. read more

1st - the drivers overall have been good 2nd- Ive been at two stops where the bus just passed me up and didnt stop 3rd - they dont follow the time schedules... either they come to early & dont wait & just leave OR they are 20+ min late (YES thats happened and I ended up walking my whole 5mile distance) 4th - the fact that they run every 60min on avg means if I have an appt and miss the bus, I'm going to be late which happened yesterday for an important medical appt after I jogged to reach the bus stop because they were 6min early and didnt wait/ or stop for me so I had to wait for 1hr before the next bus came. so far very disappointed with Omnitrans experience but due to my car situation, this is my only option unfortunately. The shittiest bus company in the US, by far!! The bus system in Las Vegas, NV, is said to be the worst. But compared to Vegas, OmniTrans are absolutely atrocious!!! Stops keep closing and opening and closing again. The drivers never adhere to the schedules. You think you can transfer to another bus in time because you have over over 10 minutes layover time? Forget it!! Somehow they will MAKE DAMN SURE you are late by a minute or two. And the next bus is not for another hour. And sometimes, ironically, busses leave 5-10 minutes earlier than the scheduled departure time, leaving you zero time to transfer from the previous bus. at 6:45 am was waiting on the route 15 at 3 Rd street and waterman ave the 6:55 am bus never showed i waited another 40 minutes for the next bus at 7:30 am at 3 rd Street and Waterman ave to get to my location at Merrill Ave and Riverside Ave when i was waiting on the route 15 at Merrill ave and Riverside ave i called customer service and they said the 10;22 am wasn't going to show until 10:52 am that happen to me twice on the same bus route you have supervisors at the transit center just smoking cigarettes and standing around when this happens the supervisor should and pick up passenger when the route is down instead of letting the passenger stand in the heat not good customer service how would Omnitrans employees and managers would like to stand in the heat to see how it feels supervisors should driver the bus when routes are down. read more

We took Omnitrans Access bus. We haven't taken it in a while because the previous drivers were unprofessional, played music too loud, went too fast and didn't know how to accurately tye down a wheelchair or scooter, my wife tipped over twice. Driver wouldn't start until I found my money after I told her I was going to the train station (dressed nicely and used them multiple times after exiting the train) tell me they wouldn't take tap cards. My policy is to possibly forgive but never forget. I'lol use another transportation. Luckily, the train waited for me. Had they not, i would have had to wait for the next train. I'll still take the bus from the st because I don't pay but not $1 of mine will go into their buses again unless i get 5 free rides for the disrespect I was shown. Not a very good example for omnitrsns & I should have reported this situation but my grandson didn't get the drivers name or badge #. This driver didn't stop when the Button to get off was rung the driver said it was too late to stop! So she then passed aother stop so my grandson almost passed three stops & in the heat had to backtrack & walk the distance home which the stops are quite a distance from each other! This post is just for Route 66. I rode bus 66 got on arrow route and central. As soon as the driver open the door he point d at my stroller I took my kid off and closed it as fast as I could. Found a seat before I could get her seated he start driving almost making her fall. Then when I try to get off the bus he let a lady out then as soon as I was near the door to get off he closed it and was about to start driving. I said what was his problem and he started arguing. One of there drivers name Todd Buckley hit my parked car in broad daylight he wouldn't even speak to me his field supervisor was the one to speak to me and all he could continue to say was call your insurance and let them know Omnitrans hit your vehicle and they will cover everything!! Called police made the report exchanged info it's been 3 months now still nothing go an attorney got ahold of the HR lady by the name of Susan Mendoza which she was no help sent me the claim for which took her 1 week to send to my attorney filled it out sent it in no response , days later she response with your claim was sent to a 3rd party nothing else! Then come to find out she not just blocked me but my attorney from contacting her I will be contacting headquarters next. read more

One of the main problems with OMNITRANS is that the PASSENGERS don't know how to catch the bus. They are NOT at the sign to be picked up. The passengers almost NEVER have their fare ready. The passengers want to ride for free. The passengers refuse to wear masks. The passengers want to fight the drivers for stating the rules and trying to keep everyone safe. The drivers don't get breaks on most routes, they drive 8+ hours daily with little to no time to simply stretch their legs. The drivers don't have time to use the restroom without the bus running late and passengers all up in their face. No one considers that the drivers are responsible for many lives on, off of and around the bus. The drivers are required to be perfect in every area, they literally can't make one mistake without receiving the MAXIMUM PENALTY. The drivers are constantly threatened, cussed at, called RACIAL SLURS and DISRESPECTED because the bus is late. The drivers don't make the bus late. The passengers make FALSE COMPLAINTS which causes the drivers every breath to be analyzed. Drivers have no time to de-stress. Stand at the bus sign, have your fare ready know where you are going, pay attention to know where you are getting off and things will go a lot smoother. I feel for the people that have no means of transportation other than the buses in San Bernardino county. You are close to either being stranded or spending a long time riding to your destination. I complain about LA area being congested & everyone going to every single stop....but here...it seems a lot more of a stretch on top of everyone getting off at every stop. Anyhow..... Believe it or not I actually like riding these buses more than the ones in LA. I mean you get your fair share of stragglers in both counties, however out here they don't get as loud, obnoxious & annoying as they do in LA & OC counties. Seems to be a mutual respect thing or something? My big complaint is that they have schedules posted at each bus stop that are outdated & haven't been replaced, leaving you misinformed. I thought we'd have to wait another hour till the bus came., but it came in 15 minutes, WTF? Almost took off to grab a bite & we really would have been SOL.. The buses are cleaner than most in LA, you don't have that nice lingering horrific aroma of body odors, cigarette/pot & alcohol odors that you so can't wait to inhale. (yes you get that here too) but not as much. People out there just really seem to just want to get to their destinations w/less bs. Bus drivers are hit & miss. Ones I've encountered were just doing their job & looked worn out, but still gave standard service. Buses were Air conditioned & some packed to the rim..(Bus 1 Colton/Del Rosa - since it's in front of Metrolink). The only thing that made it not like LA was feeling like you were out in the middle of nowhere and the large pockets are undesirable areas - especially where one of the main bus center areas (connecting routes at the Carousal Mall - a ghost town mall, now boarded up & vacant and definitely scary looking) At that point I will take a bus in LA even in the worst areas than out here...you got more people and more areas of thriving businesses & bus stops that go hand and hand. And standing out there in the heat is painful :( Also, they don't do transfers, not a good thing. They also have smaller bus-vans (Omnigo), but only for the low density/ low demand cities of Yucaipa, Calimesa & Chino Hills that loops clockwise & counter-clockwise.....Now those ports of transportation are much better!! Feels like you have your own personal van transportation or back in time, like in the good old days. I give those Omnigo vanbuses 5 stars, I love those!!! read more

Omnitrans company does not clean up at their bus stops. The trash cans are ALWAYS full with trash all over the sidewalk and around the sitting areas and the area is left that way for days, especially during the 1sr of every month. I visit Rancho Cucamonga every year or so to visit family, and since I do not own a vehicle (it's pointless in New York City), I sometimes take public transportation to get to major transit centers. As many people have mentioned, public transportation in Southern California is a joke that's been ongoing since the extensive streetcar system was dismantled back in the fifties. Believe it or not, the LA area had one of the most comprehensive transportation systems in the country up until post WWII. Pretty sad really. As the area has become more densely populated and as freeways have clogged up throughout the Southland, many different agencies were formed to serve the needs of the public. Omnitrans is one of these entities, and it provides bus service though out the San Bernardino area. Most of the routes are along major streets such as Foothill Blvd., and link different suburbs together and connect at transit centers to other agencies (such as LACMTA). Unfortunately, since these agencies are not run by the same people or by the same county, you usually have to pay different fares. So a trip to Downtown LA may run you two or three different fares as opposed to just one. What is good about Omnitrans? It is cheap. Only $1.50 from the last time I rode, which is a dollar cheaper than back home in NYC. Most of the buses are fairly clean and new, and the drivers are friendly and helpful. It is also convenient if you live along a major line, since almost all the lines terminate at a transit center or a major stop (colleges, downtown areas). For example, if you live in Rancho Cucamonga or Upland and go to school at Chaffey College, it would be very convenient since a couple of lines run straight there. Otherwise, be prepared to research and walk/bike if you want to get anywhere else. If you need to get to the LA area, you are better off taking the Metrolink and transferring to the Los Angeles Metro. Also, as I mentioned previously, if you need to get anywhere that is off the major roads, you will probably need to walk quite a bit to get where you are going. The lines are fairly limited, and only run every thirty minutes at best, every hour at worst. It's not the best transit system, but not the worst either. You can get by on it, but it's still light years away from being a good transportation provider. read more

If I could I would give this piece of shit company no stars. Because my car was totaled and I live in Rancho, I am forced to use omitrans as a.means for transportation for the time being. They didnt anger me until this morning. I take the 68 southbound at 6:35 every morning. Well that bus never showed causing me to be late to work. While on the bus stop, I gave them a call and asked the rep what happened to my bus. She said that because of the fire, the busses were being redirected. Ok. Understandable. But heres the problem. There was nothing said about that on their website or next trip app. I told her this and told her about that useless next trip crap they call an app. She then tells me that the app hasnt been working for about two months! Well then why in the hell is omnitrans still telling people to use it??? I was pissed. The rep was uncaring and for sure lacked customer service skills. She didnt like what I wad saying so she hung up in my face! Couldnt believe it. I called right back and asked to speak to a supervisor. They gave me her vm. I left a brief description of what happened and my number and the supervisor has yet to call me back. I doubt she will. All in all, this bus company is shit. And know that the reps dont identify themselves so there is really nothing you can do to report them. If you have a complaint, you have no resource here so dont even bother giving them a call. Omnitrans shows how low of a company they are by the way they tolerate the poor and unprofessional treatment of their bus riders. I've taken public transportation for over 30 years all over the world, and I'm also from the Bay Area. I have to say that when people here complain about buses not being clean, then they haven't seen the horrors I have. The buses aren't extensive, nor do they run as frequently as I like, but they get me where I need to go. The only exception was one stop was for under the 10, and that made me decline a job interview. No way I can feel safe walking to work when the evenings get dark earlier. The SBX is especially nice, with free wifi, and electrical outlets if you need to charge your phone while you're travelling or while you're using it. I like using their NextBus app. And although it irritated me at first, it really is good not having paper schedules. Save the trees, and all. Modern tech has made it easy to find out when the next bus is, whether by their app or even Google. The ticket machines don't take cash, which I found odd. But it beats wasting a quarter when you don't have proper change. read more

The bus drivers are often rude and often ignore the stop requested signal, causing customers to miss their stop. They do have a good number of routes that are useful for getting around the area, but their attitude needs work. read more
