Short version: this company is untrustworthy, unorganized, dishonest, negligent, unresponsive, and…read moreapathetic to their customers after they've caused damages and a financial loss, even though they are supposedly insured. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! I give them 0/5 stars. Long version: I had an appointment with Wells at 10 AM on Monday, January 8th, 2024, to check the back-up battery for our sump-pump; it had been going off, indicating that the battery needed to be replaced. We also had noticed a little water on the floor next to where the sump pump is located. Steve and another plumber arrived over 3 hours late. One of the first things he said to me was that "the front-desk lady likes to schedule a lot of appointments." Steve first told me that the main sump pump needed replaced, so I agreed to this. After a few minutes, he then told me that it didn't need to be replaced after all and that the float had been stuck. He indicated on our appointment notes that the "main pump is operational." He also told me it would be cheaper for us to replace the back-up battery ourselves. Before leaving, he said to let him know if that didn't fix the problem. On Friday, January 12, 2024, we got a lot of rain. I went into my basement and noticed my carpet was soaking wet. I called Wells several times before getting ahold of the owner, Taylor, seeking emergency services because it was after hours. He asked me if I could tell if it was getting worse or not, because it could save me a little money to not pay the weekend rate if I waited for someone to come out on Monday to look at it. I asked that he send someone ASAP. He said he would send his head plumber, Steve, to my house first thing Saturday morning. Steve came to my house Saturday morning and assessed the problem. He replaced the sump pump and said, "I should have replaced it the first time." I fully believe that if he had replaced it the first time, my basement wouldn't have suffered the consequences. I also believe that he was rushing due to being so behind on appointments that day, and he was negligent in his diagnosis. Our carpet was completely ruined. The pad underneath was soaked and not salvageable. Our TV stand and baseboards also had water damage and needed to be replaced. My insurance company estimated the cost of repairs to far exceed what they would pay us. I called Wells and talked to Rosie for 4 minutes on January 16, 2024. After explaining the situation, I asked if I could have Taylor's number because I wanted to discuss a solution. She said she couldn't give his number out, so I asked if she could ask him to give me a call. A few days go by, and I don't hear from Taylor. I called again and talked to her on January 19, 2024, for 4 minutes. I again expressed wanting to be able to come to a solution about the damages we sustained. I never heard from Taylor. I felt like they were avoiding me, so I consulted a lawyer. He said I needed to repair everything before seeking payment from Wells. In the process of making repairs, we had another plumber install an updated sump pump system. He commented on the shoddy work done previously. In August 2024, Rosie called my husband asking him to pay our outstanding bill. He explained we hadn't paid it because of the damages they caused. She claimed it was the first time she was hearing about it, which was 100% untrue given I had talked to her twice about it. At this time, I submitted all of our receipts from our repairs to our lawyer. In the summer of 2025, my lawyer reached out to Taylor seeking payment for our repairs. He claimed this was the first time he was hearing about it. My lawyer offered to help him file a claim through his insurance to pay for the repairs. He was worried about his insurance rates going up if he filed a claim. So much so, that he hired a lawyer. He would rather pay legal fees than take accountability and do the right thing! They were unwilling to compromise, so we're left on the hook and paid over $10k for their mistake. IT SHOULD NOT GIVE YOU PEACE OF MIND THAT THEY (SUPPOSEDLY) HAVE INSURANCE!

I had no idea how to replace it and didn't know if any other components were failing or damaged as well. Having no experience with these components I reluctantly called the professionals in to handle the repair. I was very nervous about who to call, I was afraid of being ripped off. I have to say that this company was amazing. They explained the situation to me, tested the other components, didn't replace unnecessary parts to increase the repair bill and they had my water restored the same day and I have a five year warranty on my new pump. That gives me peace of mind that even if there is a problem, it will be covered and I can't say enough good things about the guys who came to do the repair. Friendly, courteous and professional. My wife and I are new residents to Candlewood Lake, and we received the monthly newsletter which featured paid advertisers for needed services. We converted from propane to natural gas and needed plumber to convert or pipes from the propane setup to natural gas. I made the terrible mistake of contacting Chris Myers who showed up the same day. We asked for a quote, he verbally quoted us a price, and spent the next 3 days with a friend who he said was a handyman working on the installation of the pipes. During those 3 days, Chris Myers kept leaving our site and disappearing for hours and leaving his helper here to do the work without adequate parts or tools. The helper sat around for hours at a time waiting for Chris Myers to return with needed tools or parts. Finally at the end of the third day they said they were done, but the job obviously wasn't finished as they left a gauge attached to the pipes which showed that the work they did was not holding pressure. The next day the gas company representative arrived to check the work and set the meter but could not give his approval as he stated that the work was unsatisfactory, and we would need to either get Chris Myers back or hire someone else. At the time of inspection, he stated, "that is the worst install of pipes I have ever seen" and he showed great concern for our safety. When I told him what we paid, $2,800 he said that was 4 times what this small job should have cost. We were not willing to risk our safety and have Chris Myers come back, so we had two other plumbers give us quotes on finishing the job. Both quotes were in the $700 to $800 range which included completely uninstalling the bad plumbing job, and completely redoing the work properly. We chose another plumber to do the work which required everything Chris Myers installed to be removed, and all new parts installed safely and accurately, total bill for all that work was $715. I have since requested a refund multiple times from Chris Myers Plumbing with no luck, no responses and no professionalism. In closing, please do yourself a favor for safety's sake and for your peace of mind and avoid his business. He is the most unprofessional person I have ever seen, having dumped, pipe, chemicals, fittings, buckets full of used and rusty parts and other debris all over the site, driving through our yard without asking rather than using one of our two driveways, and pushing a pipe through our mesh screen for the crawl space and not repairing it.
