Prepare to have your day begin with a thoughtfully-curated, multi-course selection of delicious food. Breakfast starts off with a fresh scone (the vanilla Fig ones were our favorite) and then a creative fruit plate of sorts, and, finally, the showstopper (puff pancakes with maple bacon, breakfast cubanos to name a few). Starting your day off with these elaborate breakfasts is truly such a treat. The location: Incredible. Hard to describe the serenity that the property espouses. It is truly magic. The main Inn is so cozy with a roaring fire every morning and night, amazing guests to chat with and cookies to enjoy by the fire after a long day of skiing / snow-shoeing / drinking beer - whatever floats your boat. There is also an incredible hot tub and cozy robes to take advantage of. The Innkeepers, Mick and Karen: no words can describe how amazing they are. There is a reason why every other review mentions them -- they are warm, caring and make you feel so incredibly welcome in their place. You feel as though you are staying with your family at the most amazing, cozy place you could possibly imagine. It is clear they care deeply about their guests and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They cater to your particular interests/ needs and really do go above and beyond for their guests. Every little touch this place offers makes for a truly incredible experience. That setup can be charming to some, but surprising to others. Let's start with the "experiences" listed on the website. Things like fly fishing, hiking, or barn tours technically exist, but only if you take the initiative to do them yourself. There's no real guidance, schedule, or facilitation. If you're imagining a hands-on farm experience or curated activities, you'll likely be disappointed. Beth, who runs the property, is clearly the heartbeat of the place -- but she's not a natural in hospitality. While it's understandable that hosting guests in your personal home can be draining, she comes across as short, unwelcoming, and at times, downright rude. For example, she called the day of our arrival to push check-in an hour later, and when we arrived right on time, she rushed us upstairs with a quick "OK, there you go!" No tour, no orientation, no warmth. Later, when we went to the kitchen (hoping to learn more about the farm or get a lay of the land), she looked up and said, "You have questions?" I smiled and said, "So many!" -- expecting maybe a bit of that classic Vermont charm and a quick rundown of things to do. Instead, she said, "Save your questions for dinner please, I'm busy." It was such an awkward, deflating exchange that we actually considered leaving. To her credit, she does cook meals and gathers everyone around the table, which could be a lovely touch in the right hands. But the experience feels centered more around her routine than around guests enjoying farm life. Bottom line: If you're looking for a genuine farm stay -- where you can milk cows, explore the property, and feel part of the rhythm of the land -- this isn't that. If you simply want to sleep in a farmhouse, walk around quietly, and hope not to get scolded, it might suit you fine. I really wanted to love Liberty Hill Farm. The setting is beautiful, the concept is wholesome, but the execution is missing the heart and hospitality that make this kind of stay special.

My stay was more than comfortable, the pool area was nice but the water was below freezing, almost like swimming in the middle of the Atlantic. I also got a chance to enjoy the morning breakfast. I got the scrambled eggs with bacon and orange juice. The eggs were cooked just the way I liked them and the hostess was more than accommodating even if I was late and had come back from an early morning nap, I mean yoga lesson. I would happily come here again for a little R&R if given the chance.

Middleburry College is close by, old marble quarries are scattered throughout the woods. The Green Mountain National Forest is close by, Brandon sits in one of the most picturesque locations in the world. You can simply grab a pint of Ben & Jerry's and enjoy the view from the front lawn of the motel... Or There are ski mountains, waterfalls, hiking trails and Diary farms! A couple of warnings: you are staying in a house that was built over a hundred years ago. All things considered, it's in great shape, but as of now, the exterior drastically needs a paint job. The Victorian nature of the house makes it look a little like the Psycho house. Don't give up, just go inside! However, once you are inside, you are in heaven. Karen is the nicest person you could imagine hosting a B&B. She was very excited to be sold out for a special event at the Star Trek tour. The place looks great inside (see my photos). We stayed in the Rose Room. The room was huge, with a very good bed. The bathroom is large as well. We loved everything about it, except for two small things. The jacuzzi tub does not have a shower. I did not notice this when reserving the room. Of course, a bath is fine. The only other complaint I have is that the wifi did not work in our room. It's a very big house, so I was not completely surprised. Our cell phones worked fine (Verizon). Wifi worked fine in the living room, which is also a very comfortable area. There is a flat-screen TV with Hulu in the living area (which happens to have the Star Trek episodes...). There are very large lawn areas outside the house, which would be perfect for events like wedding. I saved the best for last. The breakfasts are amazing. All home-made. In four days I put on three pounds! With my wife being vegan, we are used to getting no choice for breakfast, but she gave multiple vegan options every day we were there. KAren is really sweet and tries very hard to make everyone happy!
