Hubs also bought the local gift box that's offered on their website, it came with crackers, apple butter, the best smelling incense, honey, and spices. I loved it. Our breakfasts were delicious, again all local ingredients. We sat and had great conversations with the other two guests. And Liese and Miles were so welcoming. Definitely a great first real bnb experience, I've recommended them to my family already!

I stumbled across this B&B when I couldn't find any other open places due to a large triathlon happening in the area and I couldn't be more pleased with this little gem! Miles is an excellent cook who will help make sure any dietary restrictions are met. They do their best to source as much ingredients locally as possible. Both have wonderful recommendations on the area if, like us, you are new to Middlebury and visiting friends who just moved to town a week ago. The rooms are absolutely adorable and you can tell they took great time and effort into designing and curating the B&B with attention and detail. We couldn't have asked for a better place to reset our heads and start our mornings for our weekend getaway!

A couple of warnings: you are staying in a house that was built over a hundred years ago. All things considered, it's in great shape, but as of now, the exterior drastically needs a paint job. The Victorian nature of the house makes it look a little like the Psycho house. Don't give up, just go inside! However, once you are inside, you are in heaven. Karen is the nicest person you could imagine hosting a B&B. She was very excited to be sold out for a special event at the Star Trek tour. The place looks great inside (see my photos). We stayed in the Rose Room. The room was huge, with a very good bed. The bathroom is large as well. We loved everything about it, except for two small things. The jacuzzi tub does not have a shower. I did not notice this when reserving the room. Of course, a bath is fine. The only other complaint I have is that the wifi did not work in our room. It's a very big house, so I was not completely surprised. Our cell phones worked fine (Verizon). Wifi worked fine in the living room, which is also a very comfortable area. There is a flat-screen TV with Hulu in the living area (which happens to have the Star Trek episodes...). There are very large lawn areas outside the house, which would be perfect for events like wedding. I saved the best for last. The breakfasts are amazing. All home-made. In four days I put on three pounds! With my wife being vegan, we are used to getting no choice for breakfast, but she gave multiple vegan options every day we were there. KAren is really sweet and tries very hard to make everyone happy!

Her Victorian Home is amazing and the bedroom was totally spectacular. Then the breakfast. We had fresh fruit. Coffee and Juice. Bacon to die for and a pastry with cream cheese and roasted sliced peaches. It was divine. Way to go Karen. If I'm ever in your area again, I will definitely make a reservation to stay there.

He framed a tour for us (hiking, farmers market, swimming, mountain views, picturesque towns) that was the height of our trip. Nailed it! We actually booked the Cozy Screen House the first two nights (beautiful site, CLEAN inside and out, real futon, flashlights, S'more fixings, everything! ) and we almost didn't want to give it up to be inside the Mill. Pictures can't evoke the energy in this place: the scented wood and stone entryway; the warm tones and lighted walls and creaky planks of the main living room and bar; the authentic STEEP climb to the upstairs (shared) bathroom-with teak tub! (Knuckle bite)- oh and then the upstairs private bedroom and sitting room...just outstanding. The constant rush of the river was very soothing. Felt very relaxed and comfortable using the deck, towels, drying rack, coffee maker, and bug spray available. Notes: beautiful natural paths (uneven stones, careful), and gorgeous hand made wooden steps (hold hand rail) from deck to main house. Swimming on site is an unforgettable experience! But not for the faint of heart, or those with vertigo...very steep steps (excellent solid rope hand rail), then an almost vertical ladder of 5-6 steps. Wow! Totally worth it! This is long, I know, but go see them, John and Manjula, their place, their love of laughter, peace, and adventure. Prepare to be enlightened!
