I think my favorite part of staying there was visiting with Gary and Zelia for an hour (or two?) the night we arrived. It was so interesting to learn about how their lives led them to Middlebury. I stumbled across this B&B when I couldn't find any other open places due to a large triathlon happening in the area and I couldn't be more pleased with this little gem! Miles is an excellent cook who will help make sure any dietary restrictions are met. They do their best to source as much ingredients locally as possible. Both have wonderful recommendations on the area if, like us, you are new to Middlebury and visiting friends who just moved to town a week ago. The rooms are absolutely adorable and you can tell they took great time and effort into designing and curating the B&B with attention and detail. We couldn't have asked for a better place to reset our heads and start our mornings for our weekend getaway!

You can book online in their website is over the phone. I guess you can use travel sites too, but I like booking direct. I chose the Woodland Room. It had a dancing bear, plaid theme. It was great. Breakfast was very good. People were helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area. I was driving to Maine, so I had limited time. They have some things of interest for fans of Newhart that they'll show you. Bob Newhart is great.

The hiking options are great, short or long. The people are the biggest thing we love. They are friendly and helpful, and treat you like friends from the moment you arrive. You feel you are home here. The Inn has served as an Inn for decades, and Tony helped expand on repair of it in his soon to be 50 yrs time living here. We love the indoor courtyard filled with plants like a greenhouse even during the winter. It is one of the best places I have ever been.

Kevin and Scott have done an incredible job since taking over the Inn. It is just what you would hope for as far as ambiance, it is spotlessly clean, very comfortable everything in our room worked, not an easy thing in 200+ year old building. Thoughtful things like an open outlet at each night stand for charging electronics, plenty of room for putting your things away. I grew up in Bristol and decided that it was about time to return to my "roots" and see what rural Vermont has to offer. After a quick look, I realized that there were really no motels in there area but apparently in the last few years a few B&Bs have sprung up. As we were traveling with a 4 year old, I wasn't sure if it work out or not, but Sue was more than accommodating and the stars aligned in our favor. I'm sure that since I am from the area, I am too easily charmed by the bucolic splendor, but The Dreamhouse County Inn really captures the mood of country living. We enjoyed fireflies in the twilight, the dark and quiet of a country evening, and a delicious pancake breakfast with fresh raspberries in the pancakes. After breakfast, George took us on a brief walk around the property where we had the chance to visit the raspberry patch and also pick a few fresh blueberries as well. I would strongly recommend a stay at this charming B&B to anyone who wants to spend some quality time away from the hectic city life or is looking for a friendly place to stay while on the road.
