We came in on a weekday afternoon. My cousin had seen an ad on Facebook that they had some Mimosas for $2 and Kids Eat Free special advertised for the whole summer. She said she had called to verify beforehand. It happened to be one of the kid's birthday so we decided to check it out. When we arrived we were quickly greeted. Only one other table of people in the restaurant. We asked our waiter about the special and he said that it was not a current special. No further explanation, but maybe it was only available during brunch would be my guess? Asked about Happy Hour (because I saw it on their website) but he said no...my cousin said okay--any specials? He said oh, we have margaritas for $5. I decided to get one. They are available on ice and frozen (but comes out of the machine, not freshly blended). It was okay...def wouldn't have paid more than $5 for it though. Took us a little while to decide what to order since there is a variety of food available. I got the Patty Melt, my son got the Pepperjack Jalapeno burger, the kids got cheeseburgers, and my cousin got the Chicken Alfredo Pasta and mi tia got some Chicken Strips. They were out of Pepsi so had to choose something else. Presentation was okay. Burgers and pasta could use a little more seasoning. Fries were homemade, but needed to be parboiled before fried for a more thoroughly cooked end result and needed more seasoning as well. Our waiter was attentive and kind. He did well on refilling beverages and chips. It was nice to receive complimentary chips and salsa as they are hard to come by anymore. The salsas were good. Restrooms were clean and smelled fresh. The automatic gratuity was a little high. Overall experience was satisfactory. read more

I went to the McAllen location and loved it, so imagine my surprise when I discovered another location closer to me in Edinburg!! This place has a bit of everything for everyone, the portions are filling and everything is well seasoned. Their steaks are tender, their salads are well served, and my favorite - their breakfast - is plentiful and tasty. Their server Pamela was friendly, kind and polite. Decent. Margarita during happy hour is $5. Wasn't amazing. Too sweet for being an original lime margarita. But ok for the price I suppose. We had chicken fried chicken and chicken artichoke. Both very tasty but they didn't come out very hot. Acoustic so lowsy. There were only about 15 people altogether and my husband and I couldn't hear each other talk. We probably won't go back. But glad we tried someplace new. Oh. The Server was A+. Friendly but didn't seem to speak English too fluently. read more

We visit about 3 times a month and sometimes it's a hit or slight miss. I've have the fajita tacos, meat is so soft and flour or Maiz tortillas and yummers. Burgers are the ones that are sometimes a miss... We always get the natural fries and they tend to come out great, we opt for sans parm. Recently had their brunch and it was a hit. Everything was warm and fresh. Machacado and eggs were perfect and beans were so good. Again, natural fries were yummers. Small quaint restaurant, the setting is dimmed lighting and piano background music which set the tone for relaxing ambiance. Service was great our host and waitres were very friendly and an attentive. My husband ordered steak ranchero and on his first his eyes lit up because it was a pop of flavor. The steak ranchero was very flavorful. My Chi Kent plancha tacos were super yummy and the green salsa they have is spicy with lots of flavor. My daughters ordered chicken nuggets and I was pleasantly surprised that chicken nuggets were hand made and everything was great. Definitely coming back! read more

They have a little roach problem, as soon as we walked in and sat down, there was one little roach crawling the wall under the wooden trimming, then they brought chips and salsa, the green salsa was SO salty couldn't even eat it, and on top there it was a second little roach crawling THE CHIPS, you'all I'm not joking here there was a second little roach, and it took a bit for the servers to address the issue after they took the crawling roach to the back, but they did, I'll give that, now you know hopefully they really do something about that issue, if customers are seeing the roaches at plain sight during the day, it only means the place is infested. read more

Wow!!! Excellent service and food!!! This is for the Edinburg location, other one is in PHARR. Great portion for the price. Definitely try to come before 12 pm cuz it will get busy. Ordered the Barbacoa plates and enchiladas and enjoyed it very much. Only thing I would prefer if the enchiladas plate wasn't too overloaded on the black beans...maybe half of it should be like a salad or something fresh to go along with the enchiladas. The botanita is great..,made 3 tacos out of it and sure hit the spot!!! Pancakes and French toast were not wow....but good and fluffy. Definitely coming back to try the burgers, pasta, and steaks. My girlfriends and I tried this place on my birthday. We all enjoyed it and loved our plates. I had the Monterey Chicken & it was very delicious and well served. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. They even let us bring in a cake :) We saw that they served breakfast and will be trying it out soon! read more

The Edinburg location has POOR quality on take out orders. I just ordered a botana and the meat is dried out as if it was on the stove all day. Small pieces of avocado. I paid $46 for dried up meat. And I might add, the beef fajitas were the diameter of a straw. I'll drive farther to the Pharr location instead. I think Edinburg location leaves the leftover meat from the day for takeout orders. read more

My friend and I tried this restaurant at lunch, and found it was very good. The chips and pico and guacamole served as we sat down were excellent! We ordered our lunches, my friend ordering a chicken special and I ordered the bistek. The only disappointment was the unsweet tea. Very ordinary and at $3.50 a glass won't be ordered again. My lunch special was so salty I had to send it back, but they quickly fixed another plate and the second serving was perfect! The refried beans were good too, and the Spanish rice looked good, but I didn't try it. The portions were large, so I had plenty left over for dinner that night! Give this place a try, you may add it to your favorites! Not inexpensive, but really good food! read more

At first I was really excited about trying this restaurant because of the pictures they have posted on line. When we walked in the restaurant it was almost to capacity and that was a good sign. We placed our order and waited patiently for our food to arrive. Service was somewhat slow but was to be expected because of the amount of people dinning there. We ordered 2 unsweet teas and a water. When I took a sip of my tea there was an odd taste to it. I asked of I could taste the other tea and it too had an odd taste. We asked our waitress if we could have soda instead and she replaced our drinks. When the food arrived it looked just like the pictures posted. Unfortunately when I bit into my burger it had no seasoning and was overcooked. I took a few bites but ultimately left 3/4 my burger. We had also ordered Banana Strawberry pancakes and decided to give them a taste. They were... well... packages with banana and strawberry slices, nothing spectacular, no "WOW" factor. I decided to take a taste of the 3rd dish we order, beefsteak ranchero. That dish too lacked seasoning and salt. Though it looked pretty, it had no bite to it being that it was supposed to be a "ranchero plate". Overall I came away disappointed and dissatisfied. Needless to say, I will not dine there again. It doesn't mean you shouldn't but I hope you have better luck with the food you order. read more
