    We miss Zamora's and our favorite server Isabel! For over 10 years they provided our Tex-Mex comfort food and drink.

    Had my annual pilgrimage to the RGV and I couldn't resist the famous Botana platter. A heaping of beef fajitas on top of fresh made corn tortilla chips smothered with refried beans and gooey cheese, a side of guacamole and two corn quesadillas. Dayum! It hit the spot, but what made it special was the Valley's concoction of sweet tea, which I am still trying to figure out how it is made - very unique taste. Service was quick and friendly. I'd go back for second helpings. Buen provecho!

    I ordered a botana for 2 along with other items and paid a total of $78 and change. The botana came with dry and hard pieces of chicken and beef fajitas. There was barely enough beans and cheese on the tortilla chips. It was cold. I was so disappointed because it looked like someone ordered it a day before but didn't pick it up so that's what they gave me. It's like the price increased but the quality of the food decreased. :(

    Had been here for breakfast never for lunch. Felt like having a home made caldo and to be honest made the right choice. The restaurant it self was very clean the staff very nice. When asked about suggestions the waiters was nice enough to recommend a lunch plate. I noticed that they have Saturday lunch specials which is rare to see at restaurants since specials are usually Monday- Friday. That was a plus!! So when you think about it Zamora's has special mon- sat. My husband had the fajita plates. As per my Husband good flavor, good quantity but would have liked less bell peppers and onions. I had the caldo de res, good portion very good flavor if you are looking to eat something that your mom would make this is it. The only thing I would change a bit was leave the meat a little bit longer cooking to be a bit soft, but that's just me. Price : very reasonable, our tab was about $21 which is not bad for the lunch we had. We are definitely going back and trying more of their food items

    Disappointing botana to say the least, got home it was already cold (5 min drive). Fajitas were cold and tough, tortillas cold too, AND barely any cheese on the very STALE corn chips. Over 40$ and this was the result, called management for ANY remedy and was told there was none. Turned off from this place and lost our business for good.

    Simple, no-frills Tex Mex food. This is the place to be for breakfast. It can get quite busy on the weekends, so be prepared to wait. I typically order chilaquiles with chicken and eggs and a coffee. The dish is large and comes with beans and potatoes. Coffee is unlimited.

    Curb side delivery! Ordered the botana for 3 and it was a lot. Flour tortillas were delicious. Everything was very well made and delicious. My parents enjoyed the shrimp cocktail. We had leftovers for the next day but the fajitas tasted weird. Overall I will order again from here.

    The salsa was amazing - felt homemade with lots of flavor. I got the chili rellonos. It was very good. Definitely recommend this place!

The onion rings had more breading than onion and were clearly not the same as the original recipe -- very disappointing. My side Caesar salad took forever as well, and when it arrived, the lettuce wasn't fresh, with several pieces showing brown spots and way too much dressing. I decided to try the Filet Mignon that's currently on the limited-time menu, which is advertised as their "most tender cut." Sadly, there was nothing tender about it. I happened to be in this general area, while visiting the famous main branch of the McAllen Public Library, which holds the record for being the largest library on one level in either the U.S., North America, or the world. Dinnertime was approaching and a barbecue place sounded just like what I needed. Cowboy Chicken is in a strip mall close enough to the library. Parking is easy and, once inside, you go through a short line to order what you want to eat, with some people eating in and others taking out. I do like to eat this regional barbeque food on occasion, and it's something I do at least once every time I'm in the Houston metro area. I always go for the 2 item combination platter. However, in the Houston area, I don't seem to land on places that offer both brisket and boneless chicken. So, in Houston, I get brisket and turkey ... and I'm still a happy camper.
