Stumbled in here after having not such a great meal at Jam. Obviously, we were not full and needed more. A gentleman outside talked us into going in. The smell of bread and goodness was in the air. They were making fresh steak and mushrooms, pastry, and veggy pastries. We settled on a homemade chocolate croissant, which was the best I have ever had - ask them to heat it up for you. I wish I bought 40 of these. We also got a lemon poppyseed loaf slice, which was just ok. The loaf was a tad on the dry side and needed more lemon flavor. The staff was very friendly and answered a lot of questions. The man got a coffee which he enjoyed very much. I walked away with a jar of the most amazing honey. Sorry, there are no pics because we ate it all too fast. Had we not just eaten, I would have gotten some other stuff to try. I regret not grabbing a loaf of bread to take on our travels. Yummm! OTR's downtown Bozeman grab & go shop is chock full of deliciousness. Whether you need to pick up a fresh loaf of your favorite OTR bread or you gotta have a breakfast burrito, a sandwich, something sweet or a bowl of soup, you can find it here. I'm not sure what my favorite menu item is, because it changes every time I try something new. But I love that I can walk in for really good food and be back in the office in just a few minutes (although it would be lovely to have the time to sit down and eat it there- it's so bright and cheery). read more

Wood-fired brick oven turns out crusty bread. A couple of simple hearty doughs form the backbone of this old-world style bakery. Daily and seasonal specials add things like walnuts, wine-infused currents, or herbs & feta to the doughs to make specialty breads. They also make pizzas for the lunch crowd and have a selection of pastries (sticky buns, cookies, scones). Travel far and wide, you will be challenged to find a better bakery (I've tried!) read more

We wanted to find a new place for sandwiches. The online menu for On The Rise, as well as a bunch of other online sources, states that they sell sandwiches, although there are no specific menus for sandwiches. There are specific menus for pizza slices, but no specific info about time limits for these things. We get there about 4pm, two full hours before they close. First she tells us that no, they don't do sandwiches - they used to, but don't now. No idea how long that has been, but regardless, if you stop serving sandwiches, take it off the menu you have posted on the web. So we said, well, okay, we'll have pizza. She says, well, we don't have that after 3. Huh. Nothing about that online either. REALLY annoying. So as long as we are there we get some tasty treats to go, on our way to the co-op for the lunch we have been seeking, Wow. The coconut bar was delectable. Absolutely divine. My husband said the chocolate orange bar was truly delicious. I found the oatmeal bar - can't remember what it was called, but I would injure someone to have another one. Seriously - it was hide this from your own mother good. I would be scared to live near this place. They had cinnamon rolls and cupcakes and scones and all kinds of other things we didn't try, that if they were even half as good as the stuff we did try, would be detrimental to my ability to function properly on a daily basis. I'm kind of disappointed that there are no recent reviews of On the Rise Bakery. Many of the previous reviews were all based on the place that was near downtown, where Red Tractor pizza resides now. The new owners are out in Four Corners and their bread is good. They're nice guys trying to make it. The sourdough was good, as was the white bread, as was the challah. I brought some home on the plane and served it the next day and it was still good. Loaves are five bucks. They just started selling pastries, too. read more

I would never use this person's business he is a lier and a thief - He offer to purchase a piece of equipment from me on ebay and I accepted a lower offer. He asked me to crate it so out of courtesy I put wood around it - he ststated that it was not good enough, so he told me he would pay me if crated it. So, I go to Lowes and pickup material plus my time expensive diesel fuel wear an tear on my truck. I crate the machine and send him pictures. He text back saying he was done. After the fact was unhappy that there was not a piece of wood on top which was not needed. So I put wood on top and had YRC pick up. He had cancelled the shipment. So I had to go to thr truck company to pick it up - as he stated I should pay shipping and he would pay me back. All lies as he never paid me for the material and crating. This type of person is the worst vermin to honest business's like myself with a 100% rating on ebay since 1998. read more

ok artisan bread. Not quite as good as Wild Crumb though.They could make great bread if they re worked the recipes. good location near 4 corners. also the sharp corners on the baqette just dries out and has to be cut off. Easy fix. read more

I stopped and got cinnamon rolls and coffee this morning and I was very disappointed with the rolls. They tasted like bread with tasteless frosting on them. The coffee was fairly tasty but lukewarm. I will probably be back after the changes are done to give On The Rise one more chance but I felt that the cost this morning was not worth it. read more
