We wanted to sit for a bit after doing a long walk from the Museum of the Rockies back to Main Street. Wild Joe*s Coffee Spot was the first place we saw, so we decided to pop in and have a drink and a snack. Walking in, this place is much larger than it looks from the outside, with plenty of mixed seating. The menu is actually quite extensive, with plenty of drinks, food and snacks. They even have ice cream in here. Ordering was super easy and the person working the counter was nice and helpful. My husband got a banana blended drink and it was really good because they use real bananas. My rooibos latte was excellent. My husbands maple donut was pretty good and my ginger molasses cookie was fan-freaking-tastic. read more

Really disappointed about my experience at Wild Joe*s coffee spot. While the ambience and the employees were nice, the food and coffee was terrible. The burritos were bone dry-tasted like they had been sitting for days. I asked the employee about them and she said that they make them in the morning and they sit under a heat lamp all day. I went at 8 AM which means they were sitting under the lamp for an hour and a half and they were already falling apart into pieces and had zero flavor. Extremely disappointed for paying eight dollars. I got a 16 ounce iced latte with maple syrup and they clearly do not make their syrup in house. The syrup and the coffee tasted ridiculously artificial. $25 down the drain. read more

The service here is always amazing. I come every Sunday after mass and the staff are always friendly and ready to help. I love how they display art of local artists and change it every so often. If I could recommend one thing to eat here, it's the Banana Muffin! They also have really good breads, the lemon lavender loaf is delicious as well as the pumpkin bread. They have incredible coffee, you can taste the quality. Highly recommend stopping here. read more

Grew up outside of Bozeman and with the Leaf & Bean gone, this has become my favorite coffee spot in town. I love their Mexican mocha. Absolutely delicious, perfectly spicy, nice dark chocolate, and not too sweet. Their espresso is great and not overly dark/burnt beans, which I love. Appreciate that they make decaf espresso; when you can't do a fully caffeinated latte in the afternoon, a half caf is nice. Beautiful art (I particularly love the trout on raw wood) and comfortable seating. Nice place to catch up on work if you need to. Very kind folks behind the counter, mostly college students I think. Note that it isn't dog friendly and fairly strict about that, even if you're just getting takeout, so bring a friend to hold your pup outside while you order your Mexican mocha. It's been several years since Alton Brown (celebrity chef, he did Good Eats and Cutthroat Kitchen and some other TV) turned me on to the cortado. And it's my go to drink when I hit up a coffee shop. It's unusual to find one on the menu and even more unusual to find a barista who knows what it is. So when I asked for a cortado this morning before sunrise at Wild Joe's, the barista smiled. Here's his challenge for the day. Dude made a PERFECT cortado. If I could six stars this magic dude I would. Instead, I have five stars and I also complimented him on his EPIC moustache. I was here with my laptop in the back for four or so hours. It's a great spot for working and the cortado was amazing. I love this place and would go out of my way to return. I have NEVER been to a coffee shop where you can not go in for a to go order with a dog. I was approached at the door, rather aggressively when I walked in by an older man with very poor hygiene I might add. I have a small 20lb dog that I politely picked up and said I was here to get a to go coffee. He blocked me and looked as if he was going to put hands on me to force me out so I left. I didn't have a single issue with any other coffee shop in area or quite honestly anywhere in the world. My take away is they simply hate dogs and allow whoever to treat customers poorly. They have the BEST CHAI! The select the chai but also the lattes themselves are just exceptional! The masala chai is my go to but the Tipus is also good!!! They have delicious breakfast burritos I don't eat pork and their veggie burrito is wonderful it has eggs potatoes, beans along other things! If you get one you have to try it with the chipotle aioli! My boyfriend got the "meaty" burrito and he enjoyed it with salsa! He also got a honey latte and it was wonderful!!! If you're a chai fan, this is the spot for you! There were 6 lattes to choose from rated from sweet to spicy. I'll definitely be back to try another. The Bhakti was really good after sipping off the initial foam. My partner also loved their drip coffee and ended up buying a bag. Walk up service was quick and the vibe inside is cozy. There's street parking all along the main road - we ended up parking 2 blocks away on a back street with 2 hour free parking. The vibe of this place is awesome. It is super cozy and I feel like you would find this in a tv show. I got a chai and it is pretty good but definitely on the more spicy than sweet side. It isn't bad but it's definitely different than other chais I've had. My sister ordered a hot chocolate and that was good but also different. My other sister got a mocha and said she had had mochas with more chocolate which is what she prefers but it is still good. I think this place is kind of quirky but definitely worth trying especially because the staff are so friendly and efficient. There was also a good amount of people in the café. I'm letting the cat out of the bag now that I'm no longer a Bozeman local competing for a seat at Wild Joe's--I firmly believe that they have the best sandwich in town. Now, I know this is a bold statement, but hear me out. The Green Pig sandwich is PHENOMENAL. You have to get it heated up--panini press. Imagine it, avocado, tomato, bacon, havarti cheese. I'm a sucker for all of these ingredients (surely making me a bit bias), but I'll stand my ground that this is one of my favorite sandwiches. I dream about the green pig sandwich. I've tried recreating the green pig sandwich. I've ranted about the green pig sandwich to every friend I've ever had. Since moving away from Bozeman, I've yet to find a comparable sandwich. When I come back to visit, there's an 100% chance I'll be back for it. You've got to try it. Truly, that sandwich is unfiltered joy in a panini. In other news, Wild Joe's is a phenomenal coffee shop aside from their fantastic sandwiches, complete with a variety of tables and chairs suitable for any coffee date or study session. However, the comfortable leather couches really make it stand out from the other cafes in town--best seat in the house. The walls are brick-lined and filled with art from local artists, and the baristas have a heart of gold. You can even sit outside on the handful of patio chairs and people watch during nice weather, quite fun to guess "what state is that tourist from?" in the summer months. I'm also an avid fan of their 'Purple Lady' drink, originally a summer special that earned its place on the regular menu after some popularity. Imagine, the perfect blend of iced earl grey tea, milk, and lavender (a summery London fog). Really can't be beat anywhere else--doesn't get watered down by the ice and doesn't fall prey to being too sweet. If you're looking for sweets, Wild Joe's also has a variety of donuts and pastries available each day, as well as ice cream in the back. I recommend the magic bars personally. I put off writing this review for years because I wanted to keep this gem to myself (not much of a secret amongst the locals), but they really deserve the recognition here.
