I love Aurore French Bakery! Eating anything that comes out of this bakery is like getting a hug from your Grandma. I'm not over exaggerating either, this bakery is one of my favorite places in Bozeman. There is nothing we have ever tried here that we did not like. My personal favorites include any flaky pastry like the butter croissant, Pain au Chocolat (cholate croissant), Pain au Chocolat aux Amandes (chocolate and almond croissant)...yum! I can only describe it as biting into golden, flaky shell with a soft, buttery interior. Don't get me started on the delicious French Butter! Aurore does an amazing job sourcing high quality ingredients you can taste. It makes me so sad that we moved. Yet, so excited to have something to look forward to when we're back in town. We discovered Aurore French Bakery before most people knew how delicious it was. Now, there's almost always a line out the door no matter the time of day--and they deserve it. C'est formidable!!! Authentic, delicious and easy. What took me so long to review? Not wanting to share this absolute gem with the masses - the line at Aurore is already long enough. Ha! Alas, the secret is out and Aurore is keeping up with demand, so much so that there's another location now. Things I love: - classic croissant - Croinamon (croissant cinnamon roll) - croissant aux chocolate - any of her pâte à choux / eclairs - cappuccino (Parisian roasted!) ... BUT MY FAV? The ham & cheese croissant which uses ham from Daniel's and has a delicious grainy mustard added. EASILY the best I've ever had, even in Europe. Ambulance is simple, cozy with several tables. The space is a commercial kitchen foremost which is a good thing - everything made fresh! The one downside to prepare for if you plan to stay and nosh is that they don't have a restroom available. Don't forget to pick up a loaf of bread, baguette, sticks of French butter, French flour, and/or extra treats for later. You won't regret any of it!! Excellent! Delicious! Drool-worthy! So glad to have a bakery like this in the Bozeman area. I especially like that it's out of the downtown Bozeman area (where everything else seems to be!). I have tried a variety of breads and pastries. All have been so yummy! I've not yet tried a meal or coffee. My only small gripe is the prices - it's not inexpensive. But... it's worth the $ for an occasional treat! read more

Absolutely the best bakery in the Gallatin Valley. Since I'm gluten intolerant, there isn't a bread or pastry I can eat in the US. Their grains are sourced in France (where they don't sprayed everything with pesticides and grow GMO plants), so I can enjoy these wonderful treats without concern. I'm a firm believer that you're only as good as the worst thing you do. I didn't eat anything at Aurore, despite hearing great things because the glass cases were visibly dirty. If the public-facing part of a bakery isn't clean, I have a hard time trusting the rest. I focused instead on the coffee, which was disappointing. The young lady making espresso seemed to have very little training and didn't appear to enjoy coffee. She was pre-pulling shots and letting them sit for minutes, which ruins freshness. The Americano I ordered also tasted like the water had high levels of chlorine, leaving it harsh and unpleasant. A bakery with such a strong reputation should hold both its coffee and its cleanliness to the same high standard as its food. read more

I tried the downtown Bozeman location and loved it. I had the ham and cheese croissant and a croinamon (a cross between a cinnamon bun and a croissant. . . ) with a latte. The coffee, pastries, and service were all really good! The Baxter lobby area is a nice relaxing spot too. read more

Yummy! Loved visiting this cafe! This place was reccommended to me by another local shop in town and it did not disappoint. I came early in the morning to avoid crowds. The cafe was filled with the yummiest of croissants and pastries. The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions. The place is located in sort of an industrial center (I think?) but it didn't deter the feeling of being in a little parisian cafe. It was very sweet and charming. The owner and her staff have done a very good job and I hope they succeed! I would definitely visit back again! read more

Never left a review before in my life but i had to after this experience the front of house staff were incredibly polite and attentive. My issue is the food. I wanted to try a slice of pizza but while waiting in the line I noticed that all of the food was pulled from trays behind the counter with no refrigeration or warming at all. It was relatively early so the grease and cheese hadn't become too terrible and the people behind the counter were kind enough to heat it up at request. I decided to try one of the croissants which was dry and tasted as though it had been frozen and reheated. I had some work to do and ordered a coffee which was thankfully decent. While sitting even for a short time I did notice with the wide open kitchen and seating that customers walked through the kitchen quite often im assuming to use the restroom which made me wonder how many strangers hairs may be flying around along with the myriad of flies I saw constantly on everything that wasn't in the nice little display case. While observing wondering if id ever come back here I noticed the dishwasher scraping baking trays and then setting them on a rack to be reused almost immediately without a drop of water much less soap touching them. After witnessing that I was positive I would never come back and after quite a bit of reflection I felt as though I needed say something. read more
