I love that as soon as you enter, you are transported to a tropical oasis that is dark and moody. I visited with a larger group so we made a reservation before. One pays $5 per person in your group and the amount is later applied to your bill. The food menu is minimal and most items weren't available sadly. We got two orders of their pineapple salsa with taro chips. It was yummy but wasn't enough substance to match the drink levels. For drinks, our group got a wide variety. They have all sorts of flavor pairings to accommodate every guest. I got the Captain's Revenge after hearing the Pearl Diver was unavailable. It was good but not amazing. For my second drink, I got the Chocolate Banana Old Fashioned which I thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't hear anyone in our group be disappointed with what they ordered. Our server, Jazmine, was very knowledgable about the menu and asking the right questions to make sure what we each ordered would be something we liked. Overall, this was a fun experience and I am happy I finally got to visit! My experience was slightly tainted with how much was not available the night we visited.

Started to head to the most highly rated place on yelp but the parking lot of Phil's was inviting. Ended up being a wonderfully diverse crowd. WW..E or F, lots of fighting. ...whatever was not my favorite thing to watch, but just trying to hang out and turning off March Madness was not a big deal. But young Joe and I believe his brother run their grandfather's place, this Phil's. Authentic people, Joe a super good guy. People and their scuff mark presence and Joe's good heart and diversity will make this a place of increasing character. Hang out there, and continue to add your character. I will be back.

Italian Beef Crawl Stop #4:…read more Starting to get slowed down by the volume of beefs and beers, this short trip to the next bar was more than welcome. As we entered there were about two guys in there having an afternoon beer. My friend rolls up and orders a long line of glasses and pitcher after pitcher after pitcher. I commented to him, "This looks like a scene out of a Western flick where the banditos rob the money train and then go in all out buying whiskey!" Some folks picked up the ping pong paddles and started to play a game, still a few more popped in some quarters for Silver Strike Bowling and some others played some pool. I contented myself walking around and chugging out of the small glasses. The outdoors area was sweet with tables and lots of room out in the sun. We did run into some west siders who all had an opinion of where to get good beefs, but Johnnie's would be the next leg of the beef crawl. We probably ended staying here the longest and spent the most money than any other of the bars. We eventually ended up staying at Phil's and then eating Johnnie's at Phil's. The tables were big enough, so there was room for everyone to eat and keep drinking. All in all a decent bar with lots of sports banners, neon lights and cheap beer. A bit far out of my way and nothing compelling to bring me back, but definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood.

When I read that Judith had brought in a new Chef I knew I needed to pay them a visit, so I took myself to lunch today. It was the right decision! First, my favorite server, Kyle was handling the entire room and did a great job. He is welcoming, personable and professional, and highly efficient. Everything I look for in a server. Based on my today's experiece I can't say enough about the culinary skills of Chef Stas. I ordered the salmon fillet which was served to perfection. The presentaion was crisp and impressive. The fillet was perfectly cooked with a beautifully thin golden crust on the outside but moist and flaky on the inside, served on a bed of wonderfully seasoned chopped corn, asparagus, peas, and zuchinni. So yummy! Thak you Judith and your team for creating an amazing dining experience. Your efforts are appreciated and never disappoint!

We visited to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday night with a reservation and were seated by the window to our delight. The ambiance in the restaurant is so cozy and rustic, a wonderful vibe. We were first brought Garlic Pesto Bread that was still warm and delicious. Later we ordered drinks and appetizers. Both the Honey Whipped Goat Cheese and Beet Salad were phenomenal and so unique. For entrees we ordered the Beef Tartare, Caesar Salad with Blackened Salmon (an added request), Italian Sausage Orecchiette, and Braised Beef Short Ribs. Absolutely nothing disappointed and everything our waitress Lauren recommended was spot on. She is a rockstar! For dessert we ordered two chocolate mousses, and Crème Brûlée to share. The perfect way to end our night. This is a great upscale date spot or place to celebrate as it is on the pricier side, but we could not have been happier with our food, service, and overall experience.
