When we pulled up to the venue, we were a little uncertain as to where to enter, as the venue had several stages. A it turns out, the show we went to see was in the "nightclub", interior of the venue. When we walked in, we noticed that many of the tables were reserved. However, it was not yet crowded, so we found an open table still close to the stage. The venue is really pretty small, so no seat is a bad seat. We got drinks right away. They had a full bar and a decent drink menu. We chose the Vieux Carré, which was pre-made in large batches by their bartender, but still very good. It was nice that there was a cocktail server serving us all night. It was also nice that they served food from the restaurant in the nightclub. We were able to share some appetizers before the show. All in all, it was a great venue with an enthusiastic crowd. They had good food and good drinks. I do think I would have been better if they had a larger dance floor, as some of the reserved tables (which remained empty) took up dance floor space. We were still able to find space to dance, but it would have been crowded had there been more dancers.

There's no noisy music or TVs, making you pay more attention to the beers and other drink options. A small place but it still has lots of beers to choose from. It's a pretty nice looking place and there's not a whole lot of room. This place usually isn't that busy though. Mostly because it's not as well known. We came in and tried some beers and snacks. It's about $7 for a pint. That's not bad for a small craft brewery like this. Best one was the Baltic Porter. This had coffee and dark chocolate aromas, with fig and raisin notes, and it was quite strong. A heavy beer at 9.8% ABV. There's bar snacks like cashews at $4 a bag or like that. Come here if looking for a brewery that puts focus on beers and not games. If looking for a brewery where the main thing is beers, this is it. There's only a few snacks but you can bring food in or get it delivered or whatever.

They carry our favorite beer, Allagash, which was a nice bonus! The food was very good. Cheese curds to start, yum! I ordered a burger that was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and John had the chicken sandwich, which he also really enjoyed. Everything came out fresh and well prepared. The corner location was quiet when we visited, and while it is winter now, the outdoor seating looks like it would be fantastic in the warmer months. I also loved learning that Kettlestrings is the name of the founding family of Oak Park. A thoughtful, well done neighborhood spot that we will definitely be back to.
