I recently got a ceramic coating applied to my new car, and I was advised to only wash it using soft cloths or non-touch carwashes. I'm a little too busy and lazy to wash my own car (plus I have no hose connection on my house. Weird, huh?), so I searched for a manual or touchless carwash. I found On The Spot through a Google search, and decided to give it a try because it's close to my work. I called and spoke to Tyrone. I think he's the owner, and he was very accommodating about getting my car scheduled quickly for a simple exterior wash. That particular service isn't listed on their standard menu, but Tyrone quoted me a reasonable $50 to hand wash and vacuum. When I arrived at my appointment time, I was promptly greeted and invited to wait inside in the AC (thank God) while my car was washed. I left my car where it was and went in. The waiting area is simple but comfortable with a TV playing some recent NBA game. It wasn't long before I was being called back out because my car was done! It was surprisingly fast, and my car looked great! I had even asked if they would apply a tire dressing I had brought myself, and they did it with no problem and no extra charge. Overall, I'm very happy with the service and value of On The Spot, and I'll be using them for my regular car washes. I think I'll explore the detailing at some point too. I was in a bind and looking to sell my car. However, it probably hasn't been cleaned (on the interior) in about three years. For some people, this wouldn't be too bad, but considering I travel up and down the US at least twice a year and have two dogs who love to shed, it was a pretty big ask for anyone to tackle that interior. Was it more than I wanted to pay? Yes. Did it need it, and so I agreed to it? Also yes. I called and was able to get in the same day that I wanted to sell the car. It took almost an hour and a half to really get in there and get it all cleaned out. However, everything looked so beautiful when it was completed. I brought a book with me to wait in their nice, air-conditioned waiting room. I'm not going to say that the car looked as good as new, but after 11 years with two crazy dogs and 154K miles? We just bought my wife a new, black Mazda CX-90, and after one week, it needed a wash. I will go on record and state that I do not like washing cars at all. Others find solace and enjoy doing it, but I am not one of those people. However, I didn't want to bring it to an automated car wash that could possibly scratch or put swirls in the paint/clearcoat. And although I will have to break down and eventually hand wash it, I just wasn't ready yet. So I logged into yelp and looked up car detailers and mobile car detailers. "On the Spot Detailing" was number one on Yelp with lots of great reviews. There are always a few negative reviews, but you can't please everyone all of the time. They offer a complete line of both interior and exterior washes and detaining services, as well as under the hood detail services. I called up the phone number and owner Tyrone Davis answered the phone and set up my appointment. Upon my arrival, as I was greeted by the owner as I walked up to the lot. He took my keys, showed me to their comfortable waiting room and immediately began washing my car himself. He worked along side 5 or 6 other employees as they were simultaneously washing 3 cars. As I watched from inside, I was impressed with the level of attention they gave to each car. The wash didn't take too long, but the results were very impressive and he car definitely looked better than when we bought it. I asked what I should do to protect the car's paint from the sun's UV rays, as well as tree sap and bird droppings, as my car is not garaged. He stated that a good clearcoat sealant applied twice annually is all that I would need to keep the paint looking great. The price of the hand wash, which includes dressing up the interior was very reasonable, The quoted price for the paint sealant, which includes an exterior wash, a clay bar treatment to remove impurities was also less than I expected and I plan to go back very soon. I will was this review by saying the detail requested was done well. The trunk was wet from the shampoo, which is a minor complaint. This has left a wet smell in my car in conjunction with a clean smell from products used. And the price asked for services rendered was fair. My issue is customer service related. I called at approximately 12:15 to schedule an appointment between 13:30-13:15 for a 2.5 hour long detail. Tyrone stated that would be fine and to bring my car in. The lot was full of cars waiting to be detailed when I pulled up at 13:07 and was then told my car would be ready at 17:00 when they close. Not 2.5 hours after I turned over my car, I would've came in later if informed to do so. I walked back over at 16:58 to my car being worked on still, with no text informing me of the longer time past closing to finish the job. My keys were provided between 17:20-17:25. ***ISSUE*** My vehicle's trunk worked properly before the detail. Afterwards, at the detail lot, my trunk would pop open when closed repeatedly. Credit to the detail crew, we began troubleshooting. I disassembled my key to ensure it wasn't my key creating the issue. The trunk lever was checked. It's assumed that residue from detailing products are depressing the button on the trunk. Tyrone, who I assume own the establishment was not as accommodating as the detail crew. He attempted to blame the sensors, then my key, attempted to ask for help from a neighboring mechanic (as I ensured it was understood the trunk was a problem) that was gone by this point in time. The trunk was held down as beeping that is atypical of the car continued, which did lock the trunk, which Tyrone attempted to claim fixed the problem until I reopened the trunk and replicated the problem. He then attempted to accuse me of bringing the car with the defect already happening. At this point, the conversation took a different tone, and I bluntly stated that was not the case and would he be financially responsible should my car's trunk issue persist. We shook hands and had a gentleman's agreement that he would assist, as I was told they were packing in and leaving for the day. Detail occurred Dec 26th. Had my Nissan Murano washed here today and I feel I didn't receive a good service. I wish I would've examined my car prior to leaving. The dashboard was not wiped down. The trunk wasn't touched at all. They didn't pick up the mats and vacuum under them, doesn't look like the wiped down the back seat area of my vehicle. I am highly disappointed. I was fooled. When I picked up my car, I was fooled in believing my car was up to par. When I started digging deeper I found multiple areas that were dirty and not fully cleaned. I purchased the premium detail. The door sills weren't clean. My seats weren't properly cleaned, still dirty. There was dirt by the tires. The minor scratches on the top hood weren't touched. I still have the same amount as before. I have attached a picture of a before and after of my seats from a side angle. The photo with the dirt was left from them and I decided to try and touch it up myself; I was able to remove some of the dirt. I do not recommend getting a detail from these people. Yes, the owner have a good personality but that does not make an excuse for the quality of work provided. I feel like I have been ripped off. I spent $200 for this service. read more

All I can say is WOW!! I went years without a detailing. I had YEARS worth of crumbs, dust, paper, trash, food, you name it in my car. Not to mention the stains and pet hair. I always have a great experience, but this last time was exceptional. I had to use my husband's car, and it really needed to cleaned. He rides with the toddler more than I do, so his car was full of spilled juice, milk, and treats. It was disgusting. As a surprise and a way of saying thank you, I came to ON THE SPOT to get a complete auto detail. It was last minute, and the took me. I was so happy. I felt so bad for the gentlemen who cleaned the car. One gentleman came to me and said that the car had mold, so he had to charge extra. The extra was like$15. This was still cheaper than I expected. The car looked so good. When I returned the car to my husband, he literally said that he has never seen the car look so great. He said that car was brought used, and it wasn't this clean. So I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and was able to pull my car straight into the detailing slot. The technicians started working right away on the interior cleaning. I decided to sit outside on the porch of the building to observe. There is a little room for you to sit inside while waiting for your car to be completed it has AC and a television. At age 55, I have only paid to have my car detailed once before. I do it myself, or to be honest, I leave it pretty messy. I don't even care what it looks like on the outside, scratches, a few dents, less likely to get broken into, right?
