Every tutor we've worked with have been genuinely invested in our kids. Possibly the best value out there. My son increased his ACT score from a 23 to a 29. This is obviously a huge jump and became the difference that got him in to the college he hoped for. We have been using On Track Learning since last school year, our son is now a Junior in high school. Dan Harrington (the owner) is excellent. Extremely responsive, and understanding with our last minute schedule changes. Every tutor we have used through his company has been an excellent help for our son. We have used them for geometry, and now Algebra II/Trig. The tutors have even spent extra time with our son so that they can completely explain the concepts. Our son went from getting Cs on tests to As. They also offer SAT prep tutoring as well! It helped our son improve his scores substantially. My daughter has been going to On Track Learning for once a week hour tutoring for the last two months. The accelerated math program in middle school skips over a lot of the basic math concepts and my daughter started to struggle last year while trying to learn these concepts online and on her own. We went to a weekly group tutoring session last year and though it was closer to our home, she still struggled. This year, we decided to go with a one on one tutoring session to truly cater to her needs. She has found her sessions at On Track Learning with her tutor extremely helpful. Her tutor seems to explain concepts in a way that she is able to better comprehend them. I would give this negative stars. Please beware of this program - we have found it to be a total scam. Every single thing they told us is a lie. First - Dan, Mike and their team told our daughter the universities she was looking at required ACT scores 2-3 points higher than their websites indicate. Secondly, they assessed our daughter and said based on her assessment she should focus on the ACT not the SAT because she performed so well in science. Actually science brought her score down on every proctored exam AND official ACT. We entered into the program because they said after their assessment she would get a 29 on the September exam. Two weeks before the exam they said they made a mistake and her goal was a 26 not a 29 despite the fact that we spent over 5 thousand dollars in tutoring & the schools she is interested in according to them require a minimum if 29. They said she has no shot at a 29 after taking more than our 5000 dollars for tutoring. We asked about their guarantee as our daughter only improved by one point from her initial assessment and they said their guarantee wasn't for Actual exams - it was for their own proctored exams which they grade themselves. They failed in every way. They lied, they overcharged us - by changing the fees from what we agreed to in June (133 per session) to 200 per session. They assured us from the beginning that when their students go into the exams they know exactly what they will get - and there are no surprises. Our daughter performed 4 points below what they said she'd get on the exam. Again after 20 hours and 5000 dollars investment. Do NOT trust them. They are a scam. Dan has posted in response to this. This is not a smear campaign I am simply telling the truth. We were told the goal was 29 then two weeks before the exam the goal was changed to 26 with Dan saying they made a mistake. The original quote was 133 per session which changed to 200. The only uptick in scores Dan guarantees are his own proctored exams not official exams. I have no reason to say anything that isn't true - I've already lost my 5000 dollars and switched tutors. I'm hoping no one else falls for the scam. The new tutors said my daughter hadn't even learned most of the math yet and there was no way a program could have taught her enough to get the score Dan guaranteed. read more

On Track Learning has been an excellent resource for our daughter for over a year. When my daughter was in a panic over Pre-Calculus, Dan came through. We had a HS teacher that was difficult for my daughter to understand. She was distraught and frustrated. Dan worked with us to find the right Tutor and my daughter quickly turned around - grasping the concepts and improving her grade from a C to an A. A relief for her. My son is in 5th grade and was overwhelmed with the amount of homework he has. How can I start to explain what an incredible 3/4 months of tutoring with On Track has been. Our family moves twice a year to live in two different states for my husbands job. If you can imagine, it is hard for our oldest daughter to catch up where she leaves off during every move. We were actively trying to get our daughter into a new school in Arizona, after our current one closed. In order to get into the new school our daughter had to take the AABL test. She did not pass. And she could not attend her dream school. My daughter was trying to get into first grade, so I really wasn't aware that she could be that behind. Putting my ego aside, I needed help to get her up to speed. The owner Dan was such a pleasure to work with! He was so kind to my daughter, and our whole family. He is always polite and profesional. He would do anything to make something work. I emailed him less then 20 hours before I needed a session, and he made it happen! I truly feel he did this because he genuinely cares about the children that walk through those doors. Our daughter needed a lot of help with her math, her handwriting, and most of all her reading. She saw that most of her classmates were reading, and it was making her insecure and unconfident that she couldn't. The summer with Dan and his tutors brought an insecure 6 year old that couldn't read into a confident 6 year old that now reads to me and her younger sister nightly. The first time she read to me I had tears running down my face. Her math skills have doubled. And her handwriting, which I could not recognize before the summer, actually looks like well thought out sentences! To top all of these amazing accomplishes off, my daughter retook the test, got better scores in every area. Her verbal recognition went from a 13% to a 95%. The principal actually asked if she cheated the scores were so different. So no, she did not cheat, she worked her butt off with the best, supportive tutors Dan could find and she got into her dream school. I try to recommend On Track to everyone I meet, to the point where it is probably annoying. But I really believe in what Dans doing for our youth. Let's give our youth the tools they need to succeed. I can't wait to report back to him on what an amazing school year it will be for my daughter this year, all thanks to him! My highschool son started working with tutors at On Track in the summer of 2020 (between his 9th and 10th grade years). My son, always a good student, took a nose dive during the spring 2020 distance learning period. We needed to right size the ship and get him a head start for his sophomore year. During the summer Nate took an online geometry class (which he would take again at school in the fall) and although tutors were provided through that program, we supplemented with an On Track Learning tutor in the areas where my son was having a very difficult time grasping the concepts. Nate found the On Track tutors better than the online program ones because they were able to help him comprehend the concepts better. Later in the summer, I realized that Nate's writing skills were average at best. I contacted Dan and he found a writing tutor who Nate has been working with on a weekly basis since August (Including on school breaks at Nate's request). In add'n to helping Nate with essays and written assignments for his English class, this tutor also works with Nate on improving his writing skills outside of the class assignments. The tutor has been very creative, getting to know Nate and what interests Nate...and then giving Nate writing assignments in those areas. In late Nov, I contacted Dan with a concern that Nate really did not know how to prepare and study for finals. Dan found a tutor to work with Nate to develop a plan for studying for his finals based on his current grades and with what Nate was hoping to end the semester. That proved to be extremely effective. Nate did incredibly well on his finals and actually beat the GPA he was aiming for. The finals prep tutor was also a geometry tutor and we hired him for two sessions to help Nate prepare for his final since geometry is a challenge for Nate. What I like most about On Track is how Dan is able to respond the the changing needs of the student and provide ongoing or surgical help depending on the student and the issue. Given Nate's success in the fall of 2020 semester, we will continue to work with multiple tutors at On Track, ongoing and surgically, and we will also use On Track when we get to ACT and SAT prep. read more

Sadly I've had to change my 5 star review for On Track Learning to a 1 star. This review is for the owner Dan and if I could give him lower than a 1 star it couldn't be low enough. After using his services for the last 4 years and paying him thousands of dollars, he acted in such a rude and unprofessional way last Sunday that I was literally shocked by his behavior. I'm sure he'll want to reply to this with some excuse or story but there is absolutely no excuse. I contacted Dan on Friday to see if one of his tutors could work with my daughter On ELM review for 2 hours during the week. His first question was "What's ELM?" I shared what it was but said that I wanted someone that was very experienced with ELM tutoring and that it was fine if he didn't have someone because I knew of someone else. He got back to me that his tutor had looked at the material and was confident he could tutor her on it. He asked if she had study materials and I told him she DID NOT and that the tutor would need to be very familiar with the subject matter. Just to be sure I sent him a snapshot of CSU Math Success: Exam Prep and asked, "Will (x-tutor) have these resources/practice questions to work with?" He answered "Yes. Are we confirmed for tomorrow?" We booked for Sunday because that was the only time that the tutor had available (not because we needed it that soon). My daughter called me from the session asking for the login information for the Online tutorial for ELM. I told her that I didn't pay for an online tutoring class because she was getting live tutoring and Dan said they had the materials needed. Her tutor said not to worry and that they'd figure it out. I texted Dan to let him know and reminded him that I'd confirmed with him that he had the study materials because my daughter did not have any. He then texted me that the practice questions were online and that I needed to sign up to get all of them. WHAT? I texted back that I never signed her up for online tutoring because I was paying him for his tutoring services and he said they had all the materials. At this point we are just dealing with a misunderstanding. No big deal. I'm a little annoyed because I know that the session that I'm paying $85 per hour for isn't going to be as productive as it should be and I'm wondering why Dan said he had all the study materials when he clearly didn't. Here's where it goes from bad to a lot worse: Dan called me and said, "I think we need to end this session now." It totally caught me off guard. He then proceeded to tell me that I had my daughter show up unprepared, that I knew that she needed to have access to the website, that I called him last minute looking for a session for the next day, and then proceeded to tell me that I was "full of demands". He went on and on with his insults and accusations as I'm standing inside Home Goods, with my daughter standing next to me looking at me in total disbelief with how he's talking to me. This went on for over 5 minutes as I kept telling him to go back and read our text messages and he'd see that 'd told him that my daughter DID NOT have any study materials and that I had no idea that he wanted me to pay $50 to provide the practice questions. He told me, "You knew!" and that it was my responsibility to provide the practice test questions. What?! I reminded him it was exactly what I'd asked if he'd provide. I realized that he had no intention of backing up, reading the texts and apologizing. I told him I couldn't believe how rude he told me I was the one being rude. I then told him that I agreed, the session was over. I called my daughter and told her and the tutor what happened. The tutor apologized. I then sent the tutor and Dan screenshots of the text messages as proof since Dan was blaming me for ending the session. This phone call was so unbelievably rude and unprofessional I was in shock for about 10 minutes after. It is NEVER acceptable to speak to a paying customer in this way and it was completely out of line for him to talk to me as though I was a bad mother, when HE was the one responsible. If this hadn't actually happened to me, I'd have a hard time believing it. But it did and I regret ever giving On Track Learning a positive Yelp review, recommending it to other parents, and ever giving Dan a penny. I would never recommend this business and will warn everyone I know to LOOK ELSEWHERE. read more

As a teacher myself, I am always impressed when anyone who works with my children goes the extra mile on their behalf. On Track Learning did that for my son as he worked his way through SAT prep this fall. We started with an interview in the summer and Joan and Dan who laid out various plans, from individual classes to small group situations. They also talked with us about score ranges for the schools my son was interested in. I strongly recommend the OTL Team for test prep tutoring. My daughter's first SAT score was not as high as she wanted. We looked at a few options for test prep tutoring, but we were really impressed with the program at OTL. We had heard of OTL from friends who loved it and decided to enroll. My daughter attended semi-private sessions weekly for about 15 weeks. In addition, OTL scheduled my daughter to take SAT practice tests throughout the program to monitor her progress. When she took the SAT for the second time, she increased her SAT score by 70 points. As a courtesy, at no additional charge, she continued with OTL for about 4 more weeks and then took the SAT again. Terrific value and results! My daughter, who is currently a high school senior, has great grades but needed an equally great SAT score to get into some pretty competitive universities.
