A true godsend, as I had tried vainly to connect with a tuning service to come out and rehabilitate an old but very decent piano that I had recently moved with my family to Milwaukee. The two other "leading tuners" I contacted never even got back to me. By contrast, it was easy to schedule an appointment for a convenient date and time on this business's Calendly page. I appreciated receiving a personal confirmation from the business owner, David Broker, too. The tuning service was thoroughly professional, in that the tuner had a reliable ear, set realistic expectations of the outcome, and clearly described the problems he found. He brought the instrument into tune and corrected some ringing and sticking keys. Recommended a 6-month interval for tuning the next time, saying that it would then be evident whether the piano would need further treatment as a result of past prolonged exposure to humidity. No surprises with the bill, as clients are informed of the charges ahead of time.

My wife took her student level flute in for repairs. The website says "Fixed, Right. Here." They…read moreactually ship it to Chicago. When she got it back, the lip plate was scratched. A few weeks later, one key started leaking. We then took it to the shop where I always take my own flute. They replaced 4 pads, straightened 3 keys and replaced the cork on several keys. After numerous phone calls, with a need to consult with the district supervisor, they said we waited too long and we didn't give them a chance to repair the defects the second time. Oh, and "we didn't scratch the lip plate". If they couldn't fix it right the first time, how on earth would they be able to fix it the second time. It was a sad day when Fred sold the company to corporate America. Take your instrument someplace else.
