Also, STOP listing the address as the 825 8th ave, that's not business location. He rents it out and how he is running his business I can only imagine the hell he has put his tenants through. When I initially called him, I explained that the toilet wasn't flushing solids. I told him the…read morerest of the house (2 sinks, 1 tub) were draining perfect. He said he could come out, take the toilet off and check things out, cost $150. When he came out, all he did was snake the toilet out. Toilet flushed with just water in it. The first time it was flushed with solids, it did the same exact thing and was once again plugged. He came out again, once again, snaked the toilet (he still hasn't removed the toilet to see what was going on under the toilet). Toilet then flushed with just the water in it. I told him the toilet had to come off to see what was going on and to figure out why this kept happening. Snaking the toilet was obviously a temporary fix. He said it would be too hard for him to get the toilet off, because one of the bolts was pretty close to the wall and he'd have to reach around to get it, and he didn't want to do it. After about 4-5 wks. of having constant trouble with this toilet (still plugging up), I sent a text and told him that he fixed nothing for the $150, and he needs to take the toilet off like he originally said he would. I didn't pay $150 for it to be snaked, I paid $150 for the toilet to be taken off and checked out. In his text he said: the problem is the piping close to the tank. I once again informed him that the rest of the house drains thru the same pipe, and everything is draining perfect. I explained to him that he didn't do what he originally said he would do, that is remove the toilet!!! I'm on a fixed income, I don't have $150 to give to someone for work that he refuses to do; because he said it was to hard to do. I informed him when he was here, that my husband and I have removed the toilet many times thru the many years that we lived here. If we did it, why can't he? He's the professional, we are not. He took my $$ and I got nothing in return! BE SURE TO GET THINGS IN WRITING WITH THIS GUY "BEFORE" YOU GIVE HIM ANY $$$.

Phil came out on an after hours emergency furnace repair. He was there very quickly. My house was…read moredown to 37! I have a Nest thermostat and was alerted by the app. I was out of town at the time. He did quick work and got it running within 1/2 hour. Super nice guy and stayed for a bit to assure the furnace was working correctly. Southport was the only company that returned my call within minutes. I recommend Southport and Phil for quick repairs. 5 stars for service but I'm not sure if it was overpriced? They got the job done so my pipes didn't freeze and that's the important part.

I was not sure what I would get as this was my first time working with Southport but all the technicians were polite and friendly. They went above and beyond and left the area better than when they arrived. They even worked around my two cats and made sure none of them made the great escape. On January 25, 2026, I experienced frozen pipes and contacted this company. To their credit, a…read moreplumber arrived within two hours and spent about two hours thawing the pipes, which I appreciated. I had shut off the main water line before leaving town for a few days, and upon returning, I followed their instructions to turn the water back on. Unfortunately, I then lost water pressure in both the kitchen and bathroom. I called to report the issue, and while they did send technicians back out, the process became frustrating. It ultimately took six visits over a period of time to diagnose and fix the problem, which turned out to be a simple cartridge issue. In my opinion, this should have been identified much earlier--likely during the first return visit. The total cost came to $866.00. On the final visit, I was asked to pay an additional $136.00 to replace a $23.00 cartridge, a repair that would have taken only a few minutes. I declined that charge. This last visit took place on March 30, 2026. Communication was also lacking, as some calls were not returned. While they did send someone out twice at no charge, no real progress was made during those visits. I have used this company for 16 years and had always been satisfied in the past, which makes this experience especially disappointing. Unfortunately, due to the high cost, inefficiency, and lack of customer care, I will not be using them again.
