My mother-in-law took my daughter and I here while we were visiting in Santa Fe for the weekend. I managed to find myself on a quest for new toddler sandals once I mentioned that I hadn't had any luck on my one shopping quest earlier (somewhat silly thing to mention on my part, but hey, we all make mistakes now and then), so we ended up here after a good two hours wandering around elsewhere. Have to say, if this hadn't been a great place, I might have had to pull my fingernails out one by one at the end of the day.. I'm kidding. Slightly. This is actually a great store. Walking in, it has a very homey feel, with wall-to-wall space taken up by a huge variety of shoes. The attendants are everywhere, though they're not always easy to grab. Can't decide if this was due to them being busy, (which they were), or just thinking I didn't need anything (which I didn't, I was just browsing). Either way, there is a lot of help wandering around, and it has a very comfortable, Santa-Fe, small-town-esque feel to it. The layout to get to the kids' part of the store is a tad confusing the first time. You can either walk through the alleyway to the right of the store outside (where the smoke collects and the motorcycles zoom closely enough to make sure your pacemaker is working properly), or you can ask to go through the back storage room with an employee, who will very happily walk you through. You can also just drive through the alleyway to the back, and go up the stairs directly to the kids store, since there is a back mall entrance there. But if you're not interested in the kids shoes, I guess you don't have to worry about it, you lucky dog, you. But seriously. They have an AMAZING selection of shoes, and even though it's a tad cramped, busy, and the salespeople aren't terribly helpful (though I reserve judgement for a further time when I'm sure it's not just circumstantial), it's a nice place. Though I would make sure you go at a time when you have a little extra Christmas cash, because the prices are a bit higher. But that's what relatives are for, right? read more

It was called "If I Could Keep You Little." I was dying to read it, since I am a seven-year-old reader. I said to the staff, "can I have that book?" and she said "sure" but she didn't give it to me. I asked again and again. My sister says she probably needed to get a key [for the display case], but it looked like she was getting me shoes [as my mother requested] instead of a key. The staff is always friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all the shoes, including all of the inserts and cleaning supplies for the shoes. I have never had such great service in a shoe store. So I walk into this shoe store with $130.00 credit from the other shoe store at the De Vargas Mall, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. No refunds ONLY credits, my first gripe. When I walk in, the woman is overly helpful and I explained why I was there. Very helpful! I explained I would look around for the right shoe. So I find my pair, and sit as employees serve other patrons hand and foot. Taking the shoes out of the box and handing the shoe to them. So now it's my turn, I ask for a size 8. The man gets the box of shoes and hands me the box and walks away. So I do my thing, but that shoe doesn't fit. I start looking for another shoe, I find it. Again, I wait for help, I see these same people still being assisted, hand and foot, while I sit and wait. I finally got pissed and said, I know I'm hispanic, but come on! Does everyone get this personal treatment, but me? Yes, my ego was bruised, everyone was just staring at me, like, oh shit, that colored person is acting up! I will never go into that store again. That leads me to believe that this store cares about their employees so they train them and pay them a decent wage. I never have to wait, my questions are always answered. I have purchased from this store in the past, during covid, and the staff were not what I would call friendly. They will assist you, but act as though they are doing you a great favor by doing so. I chalked it up to the pandemic and possibly the employees not really wanting to be there. I went back this past weekend and the vibe was essentially the same. I ended up being assisted by a lady who brought me shoes in the size I thought I might need. As it turned out I needed a larger size and this is when it went south as she rudely told me she didn't have that color in the other size but would look, and I asked for an additional color just in case. She huffed away and brought back a pair of shoes in the additional color I requested, tossed them on the floor, and then went off to ring someone up. I decided to see if I could just find the same pair of shoes online and did see the same brand through a well known online store that starts with a Z, and ordered the shoes there in the size I needed. I was happy to support a local store but honestly don't care to be treated disrespectfully, by people who don't seem to be happy in their employment. read more

Love this store. Best selection of fashionable while comfortable shoes in one shoe and in one place. I always find something I love and the support from the staff is wonderful and experienced. Never pushy. I have awful feet (bunions, calluses etc) yet can always find a good looking pair of boots, booties, sandals or hiking boots to accomodate my poor feet. My daughter is only 1 year old, but Aisha helped us find the perfect and cutest shoes for her. The socks are great too, we got a pair when she was born, but she still wears them now that it's getting cold again. Every time I go in there, they always have great sales and are packed with people. The customer service is outstanding and prices are decent for the downtown area. They are in a great location, in the Sanbusco Center and right by the Railyard. This is the first business I have ever reviewed on yelp. I'm reluctant to bash a business for one bad employee, but my families and my experience there has been nagging at me for weeks, and I had to share it. This store (at the old location) has always been a favorite, and a must do stop for us on our annual Thanksgiving family get together at my Aunts in Santa Fe. This year, as always we made our way to On Your Feet after Thanksgiving. We were a group of 8 people, comprised of 4 generations of shoppers. My sister had to use a bathroom and we weren't finished shopping, so she asked an employee if there was a bathroom she could use. The women replied that; if we were seriously shopping she would have let my sister use the bathroom, but since we were just looking she wouldn't allow it. We were all outraged, and took our business elsewhere. It still burns me up to think about all the money I've spent in this store over the years. I only gave it 2 stars instead of one because they do have a great selection and I certainly hope that this individual's attitude does not reflect the company culture. read more

I was super impressed with the customer service here. My mom needs special shoes because of her health condition. One day, I decided to go browse for my mom and found a pair that I thought would work. I was getting ready to pay and asked about the return policy. The woman was so understanding of my mom's condition and took ample time to help me out. They allowed me to take the shoes home and have my mom try them out with a credit-card hold since mom couldn't come in herself. I ended up returning the shoes the next day, and again, they reiterated their interest in helping us find the right shoe in the future. Both of my kids needed new tennis shoes, so guess where we went the following week? They have a children's shoe store next door and the employee was awesome with my boys in trying on MANY different styles. Any of you parents know how frustrating shoe shopping with kids is -- "are they big, are they small, what do you mean you don't know????" Anyhow, we found great shoes and when I need new ones myself, I'll be returning here. As I get older, I realize the importance of supporting local business. This is one I want to support. read more

I was there today and I'm still mad and upset. The service was AWFUL, the sales people were totally unhelpful and not very nice. I was looking at a pair of shoes on sale for 40% off and asked NICELY if they could possibly do a bit better (they were expensive and hte tax is high) and maybe give me a 50% discount since they were the last pair, it's after xmas,e tc. I was rudely told No, ad when i asked to speak to the owner, (knowing salespople can't give discounts) I was told, "The Owner doens't want to talk to you, or give you a discount" . So I said "fine, ok" and was STILL gonna buy the shoes when i heard the rude sales people standing 2 feet behind me making rude insulting jokes about my asking for the discount. I turned and said "I can hear you... and they said "You shouldn't be listening to our conversation" to which I repleid "I'm sorry you could at least wait until I LEFT THE STORE TO MAKE FUN OF me. The sales clerk said "OH, Go Back to LA why don't you". So I did, without spending a dime in this establishment. Neither will my "local" friends who have heard this story. Love their selection of shoes and boots but I had to look in the mirror to make sure I hadn't become invisible. Was looking around with a display boot in my hand that I wanted to try on and nobody offered to help, but oh boy, they sure acknowleged the people that walked in after me. The rather lethargic acting little guy that finally did help seemed more interested in a dog that had come in with a customer than selling a pair of bootsor shoes. Oh, and this was on Tuesday around 11:30, not on a busy Saturday when this was posted. There were maybe five customers in the store. read more

What a terrible shopping experience. Bought a pair of shoes that didn't work out for what I needed them for. Wore them for a few hours indoors and brought them back the next day. I was told that I could not return them because they had been worn. Which goes without saying -- can't tell if they'll work without wearing them in the setting I need them for. They brought out another pair of the same brand of shoes and compared the color of the insole and stamped logo and determined that because my pair of shoes had a lighter color insole and lighter stamped logo, it was too worn to take back. In three hours of wearing the shoes! The color of the insole and stamped logo of the two shoes being compared were entirely different. I was then told that it was MY responsibility to know whether my shoes showed any wear or not PRIOR to my taking them home. I was supposed to have asked for another pair to compare with before leaving the store. I'M NOT MAKING ANY OF THIS UP. These are $140 shoes that I got stuck with. This is the first (and last) time I've shopped at this store. BEWARE: Once you pay for shoes, you cannot get a refund, only store credit. And even then, they made up a story to avoid giving me store credit. The owner/manager kept repeating some psycho babble about, "You're just upset because you aren't getting what you want." No kidding. She actually told me that I was responsible for asking for an identical pair of shoes to compare with mine to make sure mine didn't look "worn" before I left the store. This is beyond bizarre. The review on Citysearch from the woman who was new to town, kicked out of the store in 30 degree weather for calling a friend on her cell phone to get advise about a purchase because she didn't have any friends in Santa Fe to ask, doesn't surprise me after my surreal encounter with this business. REI opened recently just a couple of buildings away. REI has been a store that I have shopped at for decades and will continue to patronize because of their excellent customer service. That's why they've grown so large and been so successful. With the bad economy, the closing of Foot Solutions in Santa Fe, and the opening of REI next door, don't be shocked if On Your Feet bites the dust with their rigid and bizarre/subjective policies. I'd recommend going into On Your Feet to try on shoes because they do have a big selection and then get them online or at REI. You can order anything from REI's online store and have it delivered to their Santa Fe store and not pay shipping charges. Then if it doesn't work out, return it to the Santa Fe REI store without being made wrong and getting ripped off. Even paying return shipping charges with other online retailers is a lot cheaper than being stuck with store credit that you can't use or getting stuck with expensive shoes you can't wear. A friend told me this weekend that she doesn't go to On My Feet anymore because none of their shoes have ever worked out for her, they are terribly expensive and their return policy sucks. read more

They have a great selection of shoes you don't find in the average mall shoe store. They charge more. For example for 2 different shoes I was interested in they charged $10 more than Dillards and a local western store. I bought shoes recently and they gave me the wrong size and I called to see if they had the size I need and they didn't answer their phone and don't have an answering machine. It's a pain to go there in person to see if they have the size I need. At least they got free parking set up there for 4 hours. Their return policy isn't great compared to Dillards. 30 days and you only get a store credit. read more

On Your Feet has the best selection of shoes. Every pair I've purchased here has been super comfortable and well-made. They offer a wide selection of footwear that's trendy and easy to walk in. My wife likes to go here because they have an excellent selection of shoes, however, if you are a man, looking for shoes, their selection is fairly limited and boring. Each time I have gone in there, I have seen what amount to basically the same collection of men's shoes (This is over the last year). So if you're a guy, know that it's somewhat limited, but they may specialize in what you need, so give them a call first. If you're a woman, you will probably be in shoe heaven. read more

Great selection of many different higher end brands of kids shoes--the higher end designation plus the location (Santa Fe) means $$, however, they do have sales now and again and the staff is super friendly. I've always been helped by the staff at On Your Little Feet but not necessarily at the other possibly related store nearby, where I feel like a wallflower. And when I bring the kids, it's a low stress environment, even if my toddler is trying to rearrange their window displays while I browse. read more

Besides beautiful and comfortable shoes, boots and sandals, On Your Feet has one of the most helpful staff in town. I ran there after work one day, desperate for some new work shoes, so I could stand on my feet all day. Sadly, I arrived just after closing. However, one of the staff saw me and opened the door to tell me they were closed, but that I could return in the morning. When I explained that I would be working at that time, she let me in and, with another dedicated staff member, helped me choose and get fitted for a pair of shoes in record time. i love this store, actually its my favorite shoe store! the quality, is great, the prices are a bit high but the shoes are worth every penny. usually i wait like a good month, and wait for them to have a sale, you can usualy get em 20-40% off a month later, so its a really good deal, for a really good pair of shoes. the only bad thing is the return policy, even if you never wear the shoe they will not give you you're money back, just store credit thats the only reason im not giving it 5 stars, is because of that stupid return policy read more

I have been going to OYF for 20 yrs. I usually buy 7 or more pair when I go through Santa Fe every year on my way to Colorado. This amounts to a sale of over $1,000 because they are not cheap shoes. I love the shoes and the selection. I will not be back. I have ignored the service due to the selection but this year I have decided they do not corner the market on shoes so I will go where I get services with a smile, and appreciation. While making our selections the clerk kept announcing you have 10 min till close please make your selections we close in 10 min. I had 3 pair and was selecting my 4th. I work and understand when it's time to close you want to go home but to be so rude and make customers feel so rushed, not good. I guess I have more dedicated employees because if we have a customer we will work with them even if it takes an extra 10 min. I called as I left and told the manager I would not be back her comment was ok sorry. So if you can ignore the rudeness of clerks and really need shoes they have a great selection. read more

While on vacation we had the incredible luck to stumble upon On Your Feet while looking for Teca Tu pet store. We were impressed from the moment we entered the store, lots of sales and willing, not pushy staff! My mother and my daughters bought shoes and I tried on a few pairs. I was not able to complete a purchase as my son got a bloody nose and came to the store to find me. The staff were all wonderful; got my son paper towels, water and to top it all off, cleaned up the floor!! I cannot say enough about this store and will definitely be returning to purchase shoes on our annual vacation next year. read more
