They can be very selective and will pay very little even though items are new/clean, with attached tags. Eg. They offered a brand new Abercrombie polo shirt for only $2! You may get a better price selling it yourself if you have the time. read more

If you're selling, only bring the best of the best. This isn't goodwill. They won't take it. Also, you must bring what you have to sell in a box, not a trash bag. Things can get busy. On my most recent visit, I think they took just over half an hour to go through the one box I brought. They maybe took a third of it and gave me $18. Meh. Not bad?? read more

There are so many plazas hosting a number of businesses on North Fairfield. When you see Men's Warehouse, turn into that plaza! Plenty of parking to be found at this storefront. It shares its parking lot with Plato's Closet, etc. It was rainy and windy (apparently a tornado went through the Greene that afternoon, too) when LO, H and I went in. There were strollers, play sets, books and tables out front... all soaking wet. It wasn't a great impression, but whatever. We needed to get what H and I couldn't lug through the airport: a thing, anything, to keep my kid in and preoccupied. The store was stocked with hundreds of items galore for the wee babes and pre-teens. I also found the items priced somewhat reasonably. I went in for baby items sized 3-6 months and found that some used clothing was marked $3-$7. I guess that's not SO bad. (But when you catch Carter's on a good sale, you can often buy sleep & plays and onesies for less than $9 and $3 respectively.) More recently, I've had the privilege to sell a few of my daughter's items. It was quick, easy and convenient to "be rid of" unnecessary items I deemed too girly (I kept gender neutral items in case my next child is a boy). I was in/out within 45 minutes with $8 in hand for seven articles of clothing. read more

I pop into this store once a year to sell my children's gently used, name brand clothes. The staff is usually very friendly, helpful and efficient. This is why I don't sell online. But today was quite different. The drop off of clothes was as I expected. And even received a text when their job of selecting was complete. This is where the "2" star rating comes into effect. An offer was presented for the clothing they wish to buy and I agreed (clothing that was not chosen will go to a local charity). I was paid in cash and NO RECEIPT!! I asked for my receipt, I absolutely want to know how much they paid per item as well as what items they purchased. I was told, they do not give receipts unless I (customer) ask for one (before transaction is complete). Well I'm not a "mind reader" and there are NO SIGNS posted in the store that this is their policy. To make a long story short, this is VERY IMPORTANT info that should be posted. Its NOT OK to feel taken advantage of and this is a HORRIBLE business practice. RECEIPTS are ALWAYS EXPECTED! Bottom line. read more

I bought a used baby swing here, which appeared to be in good condition, and they specifically told me they had tested it and confirmed it worked. I took it home, washed the cloth parts, and then plugged it in to confirm that it works, and it absolutely does not. And now, after the effort of lugging a huge and heavy baby swing home and washing it up, they will not give me a refund. So now I have a huge and useless piece of baby gear that I paid money for, and now get to pay to dispose of. Don't shop here. read more

Today I purchased a very, very gently used rock and play for my six month old. I got home and pulled the rock and play out of my trunk only to find two bed bugs on the rock and play. I will never purchase from another once upon a child. I am beyond disappointed. Why is there not a more lengthy cleansing process for these items in which you're putting your child in. My husband and I visited this location today for the first time and will never be going back. While shopping for 4T pjs for our daughter, an employee stocking continuing to cut my husband off without saying a word. Forcing us to walk away from the rack because she made it overwhelmingly clear her work trumped our shopping. Which I have no problem with working hard but at least have some decency to say "excuse me" when you visibly can see customers shopping. Then we got to the check out where they ran our card 4 different times on 2 different registers to finally decide they couldn't take card because their machines were down. To which the cashier finally said, "well do you want me to hold them for you or something". We declined because quite honestly we never want to go back in there. The manager working on the machines was rude as well as all of his employees. Which is too bad because prior to the check out we were considering returning simply for the selection, hoping the employee stocking was a one time occurrence. Unfortunately that didn't seem to be the case. This is a great place to go if you prefer to shop around a rude staff which seems to be managed the very same. You work in kids clothing, a smile and common decency goes a long way. read more

I went once, bought a couple of things and haven't been back! Their prices are basically half off the retail price and I saw a lot of items that weren't "lightly" worn. A lot of faded and worn out stuff! I was pretty disappointed spending all that time looking through clothes to find only about 5 items. But then, I thought my luck had turned around. I thought it was fate when I noticed them setting out the infant swing I was planning on buying my son. It was $60, half of the $120 retail price. I decided against it for two reasons... 1) They have a pretty poor Return Policy. I'm pretty sure it was 7 days... but I wasn't willing to dish out $60 on something I wasn't sure would work a day past 7. 2) When I walked up to it, I noticed it was completely FILTHY. I was completely disgusted by how dirty it was and couldn't even comprehend how they could put something so nasty on their sales floor. (Ever heard of a Lysol wipe?!). Ew. The $120 buy a brand new, clean swing with at least a sales receipt for 90 days was WELL worth the investment! I was under the impression this was like a higher end second hand store... I guess the prices were, but the items were more like garage sale stuff. You can find cheaper stuff on CLEARANCE racks at the mall! Brand new! Also, I would NEVER sell my stuff here. I could make more having my OWN garage sale! read more
