Today when I went in for their "huge semiannual sale", nobody mentioned at the door that that the colored tag sale items only applied to WINTER items, that the spring/summer was only 15% off. It did say that on the sheet they were handing out, but they weren't telling anyone at the door that the deeper discounts were on the pathetic winter selection. Then I am getting ready to check out, there is NOBODY in line behind me (there was a lull) and I"m like, OK, I need to see what this rings up, I might pass on a few things. The manager was completely pressuring me to leave and come back. you know, like "Please step aside for the nonexistent person in line behind you! LOL!) I was like no you don't get it, i'm not doing the math myself. I want you to ring it up and I will decide on the spot. I did a crappy job because she was totally rushing me and they were just grabbing it and ringing stuff up. (again, NOBODY behind me). Then I get out of the store after getting my daughter and everything loaded up... and realize they had given me a dress which I told them I did not want. SO i grab the carseat and trudge back in, in the cold rain, to return, of course, now there's a huge line. I ask the store manager, you all rang this up when I said I didn't want it. She says "you can go to the back of the line to return." After I had just spent $100 in the store. Seriously?! Oh yeah, and I overheard them tell another mom with her arms full of clothes that she could take her toddler doing the pee pee dance "to another business nearby". AWESOME customer service, let me tell you!! Icing on the cake, I tell the store manager, I will never shop here again, and she smiles at me!!! Do not give this horrible business your money. Very rude staff. They told me I couldn't sell clothes to them from a garbage/plastic bag anymore, yet they had 4 plastic bags of clothes sitting behind the counter that they were going through. Also, this place is way overpriced for a thrift store. Very unimpressed!! read more

Terrible experience walking in! Just need to say some need to be more understanding of parents/ grandparents/ guardians with children. If my girlly is sleeping in the car I should be able to wait an hour in my car instead of waking her up and the employee was not okay with that. She was very rude, So I did write a bad review. But that was one employee! One person. Not the store, not the owner. So Then an hour after leaving the assistant manager saw it and took action. She took the time to call me and apologize for my inconvenience. So polite, so kind. If everyone could be like her!! So I will give it another go, only when she's working :) Bc she said she has 2 littles and understands. So thank you! READ THE REVIEWS!!! The owner is incredibly rude and unprofessional, and the items are way overpriced, it's obvious from the crowded inventory crammed in a tiny shop. I was banned from the store over a bag of Goldfish my 3 year old was eating! The owner approached me on her "Black Friday" sale and told me no food is allowed. So I closed the bag of Goldfish my 3 year old was snacking on, and told him he had to wait. A few minutes later, I turned the corner and the owner was frazzled, snapping at her employees, and yelling at a customer because her kids were "playing with the toys". I turned to avoid the scene and immediately she approached me again saying, "I'm going to ask you to leave if you don't put the food away!" I looked over and my 3 year old son was merely reaching for the closed bag of Goldfish, I told him he had to wait and tucked it under my coat in the cart. My 5 year old daughter asked why the lady was mad and yelling at me, I told her she was probably just having a bad day. I reduced my purchase selection and went to check-out. The cashier was pleasant but the owner stood there to 'oversee' my purchase, and then followed me outside and asked me to never shop here again. I told her, "That won't be a problem, you're very unprofessional", she stated that I only came to the sales (uh yeah!) and called me rude. I couldn't believe this woman was yelling at me outside her storefront, and in front of my 2 children, over a bag of Goldfish. I interrupted this obviously unhappy woman and told her to have a Happy Holiday, and walked away. READ the reviews, this problem is consistent. Save your money, drive to the other OUC locations that are neat, reasonably priced, and staffed with pleasant employees. ;) read more

I drove out here because I was told they have a ton of Matilda Jane. Which they do, but they're priced way too high for used clothes. You can get MJ clothing cheaper on Zulily, and brand new. The racks are really packed, it's difficult to look at things without everything falling off. They do have a really good shoe collection, and the shoes are reasonably priced but it is VERY difficult to squeeze into the shoe area (a complaint I have with most Once Upon a child locations). And to parents shopping with children who may need to use a potty, they don't have one for the public. So, I would recommend going here without your kids or you'll have to leave your finds behind so you can find a bathroom in the strip mall. read more

I will never step foot in this location again! The girl who checked me out was a total jerk! I brought in two large totes of clothing. I was checked in as usual. I was told there would be at least a 45 minute wait. So my 3 year old daughter and I began to shop around. 3yr old asks to use the restroom. They don't have one. So we have to walk to Bed Bath and Beyond. 45+ minutes goes by, they call my name. They show me what they want to purchase. (I brought in mostly Matilda Jane or the like, Gap, Children's Place, Old Navy, a few Target items.) Probably over 200 items. They wanted 38. Offering me $40. No thanks. Then the girl tells me they didn't even go thru my 2nd tote...because they have a limit on what they can go thru, per day, per person! Seriously!? I should have been told that when I walked in! Not after I've waited an hour. Now I'm beyond mad. So I tell her I don't want to sell my things there, or buy what I had in my cart. I then called my fiance to come back to pick me up, we only drove one car there. I'm explaining to him the situation. The cashier jumps into my conversation from 15 feet away. When I said we didn't have a restroom to use, she states "we sell clothes, not children!" and then laughed, thinking she was so cute and funny. Who says that? What's it even mean!!? Another customer walked in bringing in a stroller and a nursing pillow. The same cashier told her we don't take those. The customer states that's funny because I was just in yesterday specifically asking what you do and don't take. I was told you take everything! So she made a special trip back to sell the pillow and stroller. (Wouldn't take the pillow) The cashier replies "We wouldn't tell anyone that...implying the customer is lying. I'll never go back. I'm not quite sure what it is about the folks that work at this store but they seem incredibly unfriendly...almost as though they simply do not want their customers shopping there....like its some sort of bother to them. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone! read more

Okay prices for the area but staff is absurdly rude. I only visit it every so often and this time, Mary, older lady was extremely rude. I was raised to respect my elders but she almost made me rethink that. All because I tried to help while she was ringing up because I already stood at the front for just under 5mins and with two kids under 5, and we all know that can seem like forever. Also with several employees walking by. Always find a handful of cute items though. Oh and no rest room, a kids store with no rest room? Closest is bed bath and beyond down the way. Horrible, horrible store. The prices are ridonkulous. They were seriously asking $5.50 for some faded children's place leggings that you can buy new for less $... Also, why the heck do they play crappy Christian music? I thought that was a horrible Christmas experience they do but apparently they play that garbage year round. The manager & employees are rude, the clothing is overpriced, prices offered for sold items are insulting & children are told not to touch things...in a store full of children's items. I was disappointed that I took the time to take 2 bags of clothing to this location tonight. Before I left my house, I double-checked the store hours online, which said they are open until 8pm. I arrived at about 7:15 and was greeted at the door by a young lady with long brown hair. She was polite, but let me know that they do not accept items after 6:30p.m. I think I would have understood if it weren't for the fact that the store was completely empty and I only had a small amount of items. It would seem logical to me to NOT turn away business, especially when your hands are free. It would also be helpful to have this information posted on the website under store hours. read more

After bringing in all of my stuff they said it would take over an hour, even though I was staying in the store, and that if anyone else came in after me they would stop working on my order to help someone else. Ugh. Where to I begin. I want to start by saying, I am NOT usually one to leave negative reviews; I prefer to be positive, but I am literally sitting in their parking lot right now because I was THAT upset when leaving. As a new mom, I had not sold clothes here before. I didn't not realize you need to call ahead to see what they are and what they aren't taking. So I walk up, baby carrier and bag of clothes in hand. The young girl at the front DID open the door for me, so I will give them that, but she did quickly pass me on to an older woman. The young girl didn't know how to check people in (she was probably new, not a big deal.) The older woman asked me what size(s) I had brought in, before I could even get the word "Newborn" out of my mouth she starts shaking her head..."We're not taking any newborn. No 0-3, no boys, no sleepwear," blah blah. I just thought it was so rude that she basically cut me off. No "I'm so sorry, but.."or anything. I have brand new outfits with tags still attached, and don't even give you the curtesy of looking at them. I get they're "not taking" certain sizes anymore, but I think that's a pretty bad practice. They could be missing out on quality items to sell. And with attitudes like this older woman's, they will never see those quality items come back through when they ARE taking those sizes. Customer service goes such a long way. It wasn't that I was even upset they couldn't take the clothes right now. It was the way it was presented to me. All in all, disappointed. read more

I have shopped at this location approximately 5 times. My most recent trip was this past Saturday. The prices are higher than the 86th St and Lafayette location. I assume their rent must be higher for this particular location so it trickles down into the prices. The sells racks are packed to the points it's hard to really see what merchandise they have. They had a few good deals. This particular location always plays Christian music which is nice. However, they don't have a public restroom nor did I see a sign in the door warning you before you start shopping with little ones. I have had good customer service experiences here in the past. However, I stood waiting to check out. The assistant manager I believe her name tag said Danielle stated in a rude tone "Do you need something?"I responded I just would like to check out. She then stated I didn't see you had anything. When I was holding six hangers. I purchased my items and left. I never looked at the other reviews for this location until today. I was thankful to see I wasn't the only one that felt this location isn't very warm and friendly. read more

Prior to my experience with my daughter-in-law and granddaughter in this store yesterday, Feb., 27th, I had no difficulty recommending this store to anyone with children. I have shopped this store and found great articles. After introducing my daughter-in-law to this store, she found more of them when she lived in Texas. Yesterday this store nearly lost our business (to the tune of slightly less than $ 178). While I understand the need for parents to maintain control of their children, I believe that children have certain rights as well. When you attempt to teach your children the correct way to shop and you are within 5 to 10 feet of them at all times, I see no reason for an employee to be rude and harsh with a child. That is exactly what one of your employees did. I want you to know that my 4 year old granddaughter cried when we left because she thought she must have been really bad. I believe her feelings should be considered. I also say that I have respect for most of your employees; some changes in attitudes for others would be appreciated. read more
