They also sell kinetic sand, Magna-Tiles, magic water marbles, building blocks, floor puzzles, board games, educational DVDs and CDs ... I could go on, but then this review would just be a list of every cool plaything that's out there. But they don't just sell toys here. This place is also a school supply store and place for teachers to buy items for their classrooms, including banners, posters and things for classroom organization. There's also a space in the back of the store just for laminating. The prices are comparable to other brick-and-mortar stores, and you might be able to find some of their products cheaper online, however, I can't think of a place in the area that has this much selection, where you can actually see the toys and products and -- in many cases -- play with them. Which brings me to another reason why I love Lakeshore: They have stations throughout the store set up with different toys and games for the kids to play with. It's so fun! (Well, it's fun for kids; it's not so fun for the adults who have to pry the kids away from the store.) On Saturdays and Sundays, they offer drop-in art workshops for kids for free. I've had to make several trips to this location lately, as I have had lots of crafty-type…read moresituations arise. First, my daughter needed supplies to decorate her graduation cap with. Then, I needed to make a poster board/collage of pictures for her graduation open house. I returned to get a helium tank for balloons for that same open house. Lastly, I purchased a bunch of supplies to start scrapbooking. On each visit, I have been able to find exactly what I needed and the staff is always perky and helpful. Unfortunately, the helium tank that I purchased failed me on the day of my event, so I called the store to inquire about returning the tank. Wendy, who I believe is a manager, listened to my issue and told me that they would take it back and provide me with a refund. I appreciated her not giving me a hassle; the return of a defective helium tank could be viewed as someone trying to get over, but she took my word for it and the return process was quick and easy. I used the money to purchase more scrapbooking supplies! I'm sure I'll be back soon.

The best part is there is no clean up after or even before having a girls night! We had all gone to another place and while we had fun Hammer and Stain is a lot more affordable and they have a lot of craft variety. I love they have different projects from door mats to all sizes of signs. And they are priced accordingly. While I love my larger projects it is also nice to have some smaller things to do. I won this class on Facebook, but we had just been talking about picking a night to come. Before leaving we checked out the future projects room and there was some fun stuff! I know I want to do some smaller items for my 3 tier tray and my friend saw a cool football she wants to do. The location is perfect! They have their own parking lot. There were 3 large tables and our projects were there waiting for us. You sign up online and pick a project that they will have for the different classes. I have such a hard time deciding, but love the sign I chose! I went with paint instead of stain and love that I can get help even though I have done it before. It's nice to have someone there to help with color choices. I am bad about using too much paint so it was good Mansa was there to guide us! I am always the one who ends up with paint on me. Of course it washed off, or I would have teal fingers today. I love seeing the other projects and really like the paint wall so you can choose colors and stains. They have a fun Valentines day class where you make a tray and decorate cookies! Our plan is to do a St. Patrick's day class with friends. I can't wait to see all the upcoming classes. We were put in touch with Heather and she was not only able to execute our ideas on short notice(its incredibly hard to find a newspaper printing press that will take a small order!) but she was also able to expand on the concepts, and make them accurate to the time period theme. The final products were beautiful and were a highlight of the event.
