I shop for most of my toddler's clothes at Once Upon a Child. They have a wide variety, and the clothes are sorted by clothing item, size, and oftentimes color. I enjoy shopping here the most when I have a few specific items that I'm looking for. I'm on their email list, so I know when they have sales. This is a great time to stock up on clothes for your child. I once shopped their 90% off clearance sale and I was amazed at the quality of clothes I got for so little. When they have special releases for holidays etc, I find it worth it to go for the best variety. I stopped in today for one thing a coat. 1st coat I picked had a huge hole in the armpit. then I got multiple other things. when I went to check out. they mis marked the shoes I picked and would not honor the price. the manager said she marked them the day before and they were $20 but the tag said $4.50. that was their error not mine. Friendly service. We were greeted upon entry, asked if we were finding everything okay, and thanked when leaving. Checkout was smooth. During checkout we were informed about current and upcoming promotions. Found what I was looking for, and then some. It was a long shot to find the pants my daughter was hoping to find. Surprised and elated to have found them at such a great price. Left having puchased a few other articles of clothing because their sale made them not only extremely affordable, but they were cute as well. Total for all items came to less than the one item would have been at MSRP. Double check items. A pair of pants we were looking at had a hole in the leg. Also, sometimes the size on the Once Upon A Child tag does not match the manufacturers tag stiched into the item itself. Store itself was clean. Aisles were free of clutter. Items themselves were well organized. Hand sanitizer was available at the entrance of the store. I have not sold at this location. From what I understand, selling at this location is the same as other Cincinnati/Dayton locations. Items must be clean. Clothing must be folded. Wait time to have items looked over varies. Easiest was is to check in using a cell phone. They will text you a link to fill out your information, and sign in. Once your buy is complete, you will be notified via text. I will start by saying that I definitely sell more than I buy. The process took about 3 hours for them to go through my items and I didn't have much stuff. I wonder if they are short staffed like everyone else these days... due to COVID?? Anyway, selling is always hit or miss because sometimes you see what's on the floor and wonder why they chose to buy certain items and rejected similar items that you brought in. I wonder how often they buy from people they know and how that goes for those people. I had several little boys dress suits in the mix that were rejected, probably because they need to be ironed. I guarantee that if I iron them and take them back in a couple months, they'll buy them. I recommend either selling for convenience or selling things that are annoying and difficult to sell individually. For example, I have several pairs of name brand boys shoes, Timberland, Air Max, Jordan and refuse to take them to Once Upon A Child. I know I could get more for them online. It takes a little more patience but for me, it's worth it. Also, sell small toys at OUAC but if you have large items in good condition, you can always make more by selling them yourself. Great option if you just want to get rid of things and don't want to spend the time trying to sell, yourself. read more

Today I had a very nasty experience with one of the employees. She was very rude and had the worst attitude imaginable. Normally when I walk into once upon a child the employees are very welcoming and friendly , she in fact was not. She had black hair, with a dark colored hat on top of it. I could understand if she was having a bad day, but it just isn't right to take it out on the customers. read more

Getting harder and harder to actually sell items here. I have way better luck at Fields Ertel location. They actually take toys. Last time I took toys to the one on Paxton, they didn't take any but if they did, it was cents back. Not worth the trip or the hassle. Rather give away these items for free to friends. My advice: stop being so damn picky. read more

The ultimate clothing hustle! Buy here and sell here and save money on kids that grow out of their clothing nearly every month! They have play clothes and dress clothes in a variety of sizes but if you take you little one, watch out for the candy trap at the counter! Nothing like being embarrassed in public by your child because the store set you up for failure. I've go here routinely to buy. I haven't sold yet but the process is pretty easy and they have more than clothing. There are toys and books, shoes and games. Why bother having a registry at all when there's Once Upon a Child?! My husband and I were seriously kicking ourselves at the outrageous prices we paid for new baby accessories when they were all so much more affordable here! Especially with growing kids, the prices on these clothes can't be beat- many of which still have tags! I would recommend giving any of the toys/ seats a good clean once you get home. Several of our purchases, which were labeled as already sanitized, still had crumbs and spills on them. If you're a new parent, like me, I recommend completing your registry at Once Upon a Child! read more

This place is full of gently used merchandise for your kids-- clothing, strollers, bouncers, some furniture, gliders, cribs, toys, etc. It is worth stopping by to see if you can snag a deal! My husband and I stopped in this past weekend just to check out the place since we will be having a baby in October. I was surprised at how dirty some of the items were. A lot of the items would look a lot nicer if someone just wiped them off or tried to make them look better. We were happy with the 10 for $10 onesie selection and picked out 10. My husband also found an old school UC outfit for the baby so he was happy. I would probably come back, but look carefully at anything before I purchase it. read more

my husband and i went to the hyde park location to buy clothes for our granddaughter. the two ladies checking us out (deborah and Pacey) (not sure how to spell their names) but they were extremely kind and helpful and very very professional. i was very stressed from searching for clothes for soooo long trying to match outfits up, check sizes, worrying if i went out of my budget etc etc that we were frustrated and exhausted by the time we reached the counter and these two ladies completely changed our entire attitude! the kindness, soft spoken voices, the help they gave us when needed each time no matter how silly the questions were and the genuine smiles. reminds us that kindness still exists. Please give them a raise because good ppl are very difficult to find these days. i appreciate the way they treated us during this visit more than you could ever understand because it was a terrible day until they reminded us of the kindness that still exists. i'll definitely shop here from now on and tell others as well! read more

I actually had a bad experience this time. Usually the staff are very kind and helpful but this time I felt very awkward. In their defense I did show up about 20 mins till closing to sell a few things. Although what I had was bigger things that I figured wouldn't be to much if a hassle or take to much time. Th lady that helped me was somewhat kind but I just had that feeling that when I turned my head that I could have possibly gotten some type of irritated look towards her coworkers , once again I said this is only how I felt. The main thing that made me feel awkward is that I had a little table and chairs i was selling and the lady helping me asked another lady working if they would take the table and for how much and for some reason things became a hush hush situation to where she has to whisper what her answer was as she is passing by and made no attempt to look in my kids and I direction. I just don't understand why things were a secret. Are they trying to get me in some way? I don't know but I just felt it as unprofessional and flat out rude! Once something happens to where me or my children are made to feel uncomfortable or unwanted then that's when I take my business else where , and I do a lot of business at Once Upon A Child.
