I was shopping at Snooty Fox in Hyde Park and asked about their restroom and the employee said only bus trip people can use their bathroom! I guess the rest of the customers are trash. She literally directed me to go to Marshall's and allowed other customers to use their restroom. I guess they don't appreciate their repeat customers. They really are terrible! I've been selling with them for years. I always mean to find somewhere else but I never do. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment! I've had many situations where the staff act awfully rude. Maybe they are pissed that they are stuck working used clothing retail, while I come in selling my designer clothes. Most of the time, they don't even know what is or isn't in style. I once had a sports bra, that I didn't realized I had tried on (not worn) and had a bit of deodorant on the side and the girl picks it up with her fingertips and practically throws it back to me. I noticed that if i come in dressed nicer with my make up done, they are nicer. This place really needs better customer treatment policies. read more

What a perfect name for this place. The website claims they take men's clothing. Yet when I arrived with six quality, currently-styled suits (dry-cleaned and on hangars) that retailed from $400 to $1300 each, I was met not with a hello or good afternoon, but with a visible scowl and a rude, "Oh, we don't take men's suits." I asked about the info on the site and she repeated in a more annoyed tone, "we JUST DON'T accept men's suits." Snooty Fox is a used women's clothing store that has a great selection of work wear, casual wear, and dresses. I was able to find a Lululemon jacket ($20), two J. Crew sweaters for work ($8 and $12 each), and a J Crew top and a Limited pleather skirt (just $1 each, from the dollar racks outside!). Every day they put up dollar racks of clothes outside and everything is only $1. They also have a "half off" section in the back. I've also seen a decent selection of used designer clothes and accessories (Diane Von Furstenburg dress $100, Prada shoes $50). They have a rewards shopper program that costs a couple bucks but you get 10% off everything. Great place to try to clean out the old stuff in your closet and make a few bucks! read more

Been going here for a few years but the last sale kinda burned me. Advertised $2 adult and $1 kids and didn't disclose that there were any exclusions. When I show up like 5 items were part of the sale while the sale posters are literally plastered everywhere including about five all over the front door: $2Adult/$1 kids clothing. No exclusions listed. Yeah I know, I'm a guy. This store doesn't have a lot for men but I do find the occasional good deal for basic stuff. The prices are reasonable but I don't like getting lied to with cheap advertising. I took a few items to the register to find out they were full price except those five items. She ignored us the whole time we were in the store until it came time for us to ring out she then began to act super fake towards the both of us. I walked in and they looked at me straight into my eyes at this time I didn't know they worked there I thought they were customers so I'm looking around looking for the people that work there to ask them something so I don't see anyone for a couple minutes and I end up asking one of the ladies if she works there and she says yes so I ask my question but at this point I'm FURIOUS!!!! I love Snooty Fox!! All the ladies there are wonderful. They are really nice every time I bring my clothes and very honest as to what would really sell on their store. There is NO FEE regardless of how many clothes you bring in!!! You get 50% of what your things sell for and it takes about 4 weeks after you bring in your things. You get paid cash for things you don't wear anymore. It is a great place to shop, I can find whole outfits for less than $20!!! They have great deals plus you can get a platinum card (is not a credit card) and get extra discount while helping to support the Conductive Learning Center for children with motor challenges. This is the closest Snooty Fox to me, so I know it pretty well. This store has a pretty large selection (kids and men as well) and a giant clearance section. I've never found the employees to be unfriendly here, they seem pretty busy though so maybe that's the issue. I've never tried to consign anything either, I just buy. The brands weren't any better than other consignment shops, and the quality of the items was just average. There was actually a much smaller selection than most places. One section did seem better than other shops, and that was the jewelry. There was quite the selection of nice jewelry on display. This was my first time shopping at this location of Snooty Fox. Through the years, I have had hit or miss luck finding plus size clothes at Snooty. This Snooty Fox has dedicated the entire store to plus size clothes. They starting advertising change late last year but it's taken me a few months to check it out. I was finally enticed by the prospect of a 50% off sale this past weekend. This is a relatively small Snooty fox location with somewhat challenging street parking. I believe there may be parking in a lot behind the building so don't get discouraged if the meters are full. Regardless, once inside you are greeted with a shop full of clothing size 14+. I found the selection to be slanted towards more professional items. Large selection of suits in many different colors. I ended up snagging a spring suit for $25; good price for a good quality suit. I found the sales associate to be friendly and readily helped me when I needed a sweater from a display. This location will definitely be on my shopping circuit in the future. Folk are not very welcoming. Business does not give receipts for items and prices at which items are sold is sometimes surprisingly low. For example called on the 3rd item priced at 299. Called on 8th, item sold for 149. Items must be in pristine condition or will not be accepted. Recommend take pictures and get prices before going to the store. Finally be aware that storewide pop up sales happen. This will reduce your net dramatically read more

I'm reviewing as a man {obviously}, which means I'm not the primary target audience for this place. The men's section seems like an afterthought. It's tiny, in the back, and generally consists of Old Navy, Eddie Bauer, and Banana Republic slacks and button-up shirts. Oh, yeah. It happened to me, too. I went in the store mid-afternoon on a weekday. The clerk was chatting on the phone and actually never even looked at me or spoke to me. It's not a big deal, I don't go shopping for the social interaction with the clerks, but I thought it was kind of weird. And cold. I've had a chance to revisit this store, as well as many of the other Snooty Fox stores. There has definitely been an improvement in the stock at the Hyde Park store (maybe I just hit it on a "bad" day!) and I have found a few things at some of the other stores. The prices on the lower scale items seem to be pretty good. However, the higher priced (designer) items don't seem to be priced as well. Just seems like percentage wise, those items aren't marked down as much. I assume that management feels they can get more for the higher priced items, and they are probably right. Overall a nice place to look for a bargain, but you might be able to find the designer items cheaper on some of the online sites. read more

I looked around for about 2 minutes and they indicated that they had looked at the clothing and took a couple of pieces. There is no way that they looked through the clothing in that short period of time and took a couple of pieces. Much of the clothing still had tags on it and they didn't take it. Awful! I went to Snooty Fox looking for business professional clothing. The selection was terrible. Everything was so outdated. Beyond the clothing, upon walking into the store no one even acknowledged me despite the fact that I was one of three customers. There was a younger blonde girl who was friendly when I purchased my items but the other sales associate, an older women, was terrible. Other customers asked her a few simple questions and this women barked one word responses. Her attitude ruined the atmosphere of the store. She was so rude that I will never be returning. I do a lot of consignment shopping and Snooty is so hit or miss. This is the best location in the area, but the items are such a grab bag. I've gotten burned many times by purchasing a piece, getting it hime, and then finding some glaring issue with it. Stains, holes, seams coming undone, altered clothing, you name a problem and I've seen something at, or bought something from, Snooty with it. It's extremely frustrating and for upscale consignment, I'd expect staff to do a better job at inspecting garments before accepting them or putting them back after being tried on. You can tell there will be a problem with a garment by looking at the tag. If it has a recent date on it and the item is in the clearance area, put it down, there is something wrong with it. What annoys me about this is obviously, an employee noticed a problem so they marked the item to clearance, but they do not otherwise note this issue to the shopper. So, you come in, think you've found a great deal, buy it, get it home, and realize there is a problem. There is no return policy either, so you're out of luck. It'd be nice if shoppers could somehow be warned of an issue. Their lighting is also absolutely terrible, good luck trying to figure out if that yellow cast is a pit stain or just the awful lights. Pricing is erratic. Two very similar items of the same brand will vary wildly in price. On a positive note: they do run good sales(20% regular prices, 75% clearance), you can find some gems on the $1 racks out front(you can also find some complete trash, too, so once again be careful), the Platinum card goes to a good cause, and I've never had a negative encounter with staff. Their plastic bags also suck, so bring a reusable bag to carry your finds home. Main takeaways: closely inspect items for flaws prior to purchase, bring a reusable shopping bag, wait for sales to get the biggest bang for your buck. read more

Puts the SNOOTY in The Snooty Fox. I am done with this store. I have been a customer for several years, though I'm not sure why. It's little better than an average thrift store, though with poorer service. The store was PACKED (holiday weekend) today and there were no less than four sales people at the front counter. As usual, they do not greet anyone when they arrive. Today, for the THIRD time in recent memory, they stood behind the counter gossiping and backbiting, instead of helping customers. The clerks act as if the customers are interruptions (and actually, they are-- to the gossip and negative comments about customers) upon checkout. I am appalled at the consistent attitudes of the salespeople and WILL NOT be back. And neither will the two other customers in line with me. read more

I went there with my grandmother to get her out of the house and take her shopping. Shes a retired store owner of a botique and always made sure everyone left with a positive experience after shopping at her store. At the time there were very few customers but yet we were still completely ignored. When I asked for help the woman acted like I was really putting her out by her doing her job and giving a little assistance. We did find a couple of things we would have purchsed but instead at that point it was best to just leave. I have mixed feelings about this store(most locations). They do seem to be snooty when accepting items but I never see high end labels to buy. Sometimes when items don't work for me, i'll try to take them back to sell. Funny thing tho, they never accept the items i recently bought ("new" items too, not the half off stuff). Plus you really need to check over the clothes b4 u buy. I don't know if it's the lighting in there but i've missed obvious stains and tears! I send a lot of used clothes to liketwice.com and the Snooty clothes usually get reject for being stained or outdated. They seem to carry too much Loft, Banana Republic, and Old Navy. read more
