Over the last couple of visits I have noticed prices have gone up pretty drastically. Saw a few items for 4.50, went back to Walmart bought the same shirts for 2.98. They don't pay like they used to for the items being sold to them. I get it inflation, but these stores should be in the business to help families provide clothing to children at a reasonable price. I really like this place. Huge selection of clothes at a reasonably cheap price. I always find some great things here from clothes to shoes and toys for my 3 year old. Service is pretty good most of the time. Especially when you come and it's not busy. A few times I've come and haven't been greeted was I'm sure because they were busy. No wonder they are selling this location the staff is horrible with explaining the sell back. They told us it was a 2day wait for bins to get a text notification after arriving with plastic bags and they didn't inform us how long the wait was for "express" which means in a bag!! But when we purchased bins to follow there protocol she then informed us it will take two days to process.. then proceeded to tell another person it would be 30mins to get there plastic bag but didn't inform me of that info at all and made us go get the 18 gallon bins. Very bitchy individual in glasses that lacks customer service skills. read more

The service and friendliness is less than desirable. The front counter people are not only "unfriendly" but depending on your luck they might be down right rude. They hardly ever greet you when you walk in. The sad part is you walk by most of the staff....they're all right there in the front by the door. Once you've made your selection of the scarce items you may or may not find you get to check out. Good luck there. That's another waiting game in spite of the 5-8 employees standing there trying to look busy so they don't wait on you. This business is shameful. Sent me a text 2 days in a row saying my offer was ready and I can stop by. They were closed each time I went for weather (no snow or rain... just cold) and the next day because of a broken heater. Understandable.. but why not send a message to those who have a pending sale this info. I couldn't come a 3rd or 4th or 5th time because like most people my time is valuable I work and have kids. They decided to cash my stuff out for store credit. Did they send any follow up messages? No. Instead they tell me oh you could've looked at our website to see if we had any changes to store hours. Um no.. if you sent me a message saying my offer was ready and to stop by why would I think to go see if y'all closed due to an emergency? Y'all should've sent a message out saying that. I used to love this place maybe 5 years ago but lately I feel that the schedule to be opened and closed changes like everytime I want to go there's no consistency, as soon as you walk through the door with a tote they're already eyeing your stuff to see what they won't take and usually they don't seem very happy to see you just in my experiences I've worked customer service for 10 years now and although it's not the most fun all the times and we all have our days but they need to be a little kinder to their customers, they make you want to avoid going there. read more

Was contacted by the owner and her sister and they handled things about my lost bin in such a nice matter! I spoke to the sister and she listened and apologized many times for the staff and the situation, it wasn't her fault at all and she was very kind and helpful with the situation. I do not recommend selling here any longer. We drove from out of town to sell here and normally wouldn't receive much back for our items, but it was better than nothing. However, we drove 45 minutes today to sell barely used toys and clothes, and they wouldn't accept them because they changed a rule. The previous rule was that you had to bring the items for sale in a box, not a bag. We made sure we transferred all items to boxes to comply with their rules, only to find out when we arrived that they changed the rules to be even more strict. We were told that all items now had to be brought in a tote with a lid, or they wouldn't accept them. We asked if we could transfer our items into one of their bins that they had (a stacked pile of 10), and they refused us. I suppose we could have gone to the store to buy a tote; however, we then wouldn't have made any profit on our sale. This business has gone downhill in an effort to become more efficient, and it is a huge disappointment. No updated rules were sent out to customers and reward members. Pathetic. We will not be buying or selling here in the future. read more

I get nervous with thrift stores especially for kids but this place was great! The obvious things are more worn down like shoes but a ton of the clothes still have original tags on them. The prices are great! They also have a lot of things off season - for example we needed a swim suit in the dead of winter and they had a good selection. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the staff; sure they won't be winning a hospitality award but they do their job. The clothes are organized and they're pretty quick to ring people up. If I could give zero stars I would. I took in a small container & because the Clothes we're popping up 2" over the top the pregnant medium skinned toned black haired lady did not take it in. The staff was not rude. However, they were not friendly either. I sold some clothes to them, they didn't take everything. Which floored me because the things they turned away were nice items (nice brands, clean, never worn). While shopping in the store; I noticed some of their items looked like they belonged in a garbage can (e.g. costumes/shoes/shirts). Save the trip, and your stuff. They lowball like I've never seen. They offered us $11 for a baby rocker that was brand new and retails for close to $50. They rejected many pairs of clothes that my son had only worn once or twice and were like new yet they don't have an issue selling worn pajama sets in their stores that were clearly worn many times over. This review is not about the staff, they were very friendly. The system is the issue. I would save your energy and sell them online or donate them. Right when I walked in I was greeted by a woman named Brittany which she was pleasant and asked if I was selling an item then this other chick named Shaxion or however you spell her name jumps right in and saw my item and says well she's gonna have to open that and put it together. Mind you my item is BRAND NEW AND HASNT BEEN OPENED OR USED BEFORE. Which Brittany offered to help me and we put it together and my play n pack isn't a basic one it's a jet setter for only that chick to tell me I would get $43. She definitely needs to get a new job and attitude smh. And if she's a manager there then the owner needs to have her take some customer service classes or something. I've been in customer relations for 10 years and you will definitely lose business with that type of worker at your front desk. I took in a bouncer that my son refused to use. Apparently the NEW model that came out AFTER the one I have has some little shade covering so you refused to take it claiming it was missing a piece it never came with. The employee then proceeded to argue with me about it in front of other customers despite my proving her wrong. This is not the first time your lack of knowledge has cost you business. I will be sure my wife (a LLL leader) let's everyone of the 11,000 San Antonio members to avoid your store and instead go to Sweet Repeats. Definitely the worst customer service I have ever dealt with! When I first found out I was pregnant my husband and I went to Once Upon A Child to grab some bodysuits for our soon to be bundle of joy. When we arrived to store we were not greeted, no one came by to help us so we basically just went to the sale rack to see what they had. We noticed up at the top that the bodysuits were 75% off! So we grabbed about 8 bodysuits and proceeded to the checkout counter. The girl behind the counter started to ring the clothes up, but when we did the math before taking the clothes up there it was no where near that cost! So we pointed out that the clothes were supposed to be 75% off, she asked us where we had seen that sign so we took her to the exact spot. She informed us that the staff must have missed that sale sign and took it down immediately. When we got back to the counter she also told us they would not honor the 75% off, even though it was THEIR mistake with leaving the sale sign up. I'm not one to ask for the manager but I know darn well that if the store makes a mistake on the price they should honor it! The manager came over and started to ARGUE with me on it, saying how they weren't going to honor it because it wasn't actually on sale. After going back and forth for a solid ten minutes she finally gave in and honored the sales price. But never, have I ever(!) dealt with such disrespect and blatant disregard for good customer service. Having worked customer service my entire career I know the rules of keeping the customers happy. So definitely don't waste your money here, beyond rude and the most unprofessional workers I have ever the displeasure of dealing with! read more

The only thing I would change is SOME of the prices.. there were a bunch of blank long sleeve shirts in the 2T sections for $4.50+ but other than that I always find good stuff! Don't waste your time or money. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. They will low ball you for your good items. You will have a better chance at selling your nice items through Offerup or Letgo (apps). I brought in 2 pairs of gently used shoes and 5 brand new shoes retailing between $16-$25. They only wanted to give me less than $1.40 per pair. It's ridiculous. Another time, I was wanting to sell them clothes that I bought FROM them, never used them, but they told me they couldn't take them due to "wear and tear." I knew this was untrue because I heard one girl tell the other that they couldn't take in anymore onesies because they were overstocked. So why lie to me about it? Oh, and whatever time frame they give to you while you wait for your items? Multiply that by 3. I was told my wait time would be 45 minutes. It took over 2.5 hours. For the second trip (for the shoes), they told me 15 minutes, and it took nearly 45 minutes. What a waste of time. The friendliness of the staff is a hit and miss. Half the time only one girl will be polite and the other two will be cold and rude. Regardless of that, they are always either understaffed or they ignore the customers even though there are three times the amount of customers standing in line. I saw a manager training a new girl. Not once did that manager greet or acknowledge a customer, and there were plenty of us! Horrible customer service. What an honest reflection of poor management. I will NOT be coming back. They don't deserve my business. I recommend Sweet Repeats that's only 5 minutes away. read more
