I had never heard of any of the movies myself, but I also don't consider myself to be a fan of western movies. So that that as you will. There's a large gift/souvenir shop that you walk through to get to the movie sets. They ask for a donation of $5 per person by way of a donation box at the door. The gift shop has a variety of items-some of them made locally and others made in China. It's a strange mix. I would assume this place is on the route for tour busses, because I saw a few of them during my visit. Plenty of parking out front, even with the busses.

There are like four areas of the cave to explore with some really cool things to look at. Mostly rocks and things collected in the area and through travels. It wasn't totally what I was expecting when you think about exploring a cave. It kind of felt like one giant gift store you paid to get into. But if you have time to kill it is worth exploring.

Its location right on the main drag of Kanab was convenient as well. I was optimistic when I saw the clearance rack outside, but it all went downhill from there. The items were not logically organized and the staff was the opposite of friendly. We spent a good 10 minutes in the store and the woman at the counter looked around bored the entire time. Everytime we found something that might work, the price was way too high or there wasn't the size that we needed available. I should have taken the hint with the lack of greeting or acknowledgement from staff and not wasted my time!

They have a great reading selection but also so many prizes and crafts! The best part though is how kind and attentive the librarians are. This is a fairly decently sized visitor center that contains a lot of information about the geology and archeology of the area. There are also a lot of pamphlets about attractions in the area. When I visited, the officer was trying to handle planning an entire week's trip for things to do for someone who apparently did zero planning into the area. Seriously. She didn't know that The Wave needed permits and was upset she couldn't visit on a whim (and without proper hiking tools). She also did not have a high clearance, 4WD/AWD vehicle. So, a lot a cool things to do were closed off to her out of safety. The ranger was very kind and patient through all of it though. I finally got my quick question answered after. The exhibits were good to look at and quite informational.

I…read moreordered the items from Amazon (4 separate packages) and they all seem to have been delivered to an incorrect address in Kanab (turns out the drivers are fairly new). I went and spoke with the folks in the PO and honestly had lost hope of getting the items. However, two days later, all the 4 items were delivered to my address. I am a happy camper. Thanks so much to the ladies at the Kanab Post Office who expedited the search for these missing packages, found them and then delivered them to me in time for my trip. Two thumbs up!
