I had never heard of any of the movies myself, but I also don't consider myself to be a fan of western movies. So that that as you will. There's a large gift/souvenir shop that you walk through to get to the movie sets. They ask for a donation of $5 per person by way of a donation box at the door. The gift shop has a variety of items-some of them made locally and others made in China. It's a strange mix. I would assume this place is on the route for tour busses, because I saw a few of them during my visit. Plenty of parking out front, even with the busses.

The owner of the caves who introduced us to the history of the caves was super friendly and…read moreknowledgeable. And the history is quite fascinating. There are like four areas of the cave to explore with some really cool things to look at. Mostly rocks and things collected in the area and through travels. It wasn't totally what I was expecting when you think about exploring a cave. It kind of felt like one giant gift store you paid to get into. But if you have time to kill it is worth exploring.

Its location right on the main drag of Kanab was convenient as well. I was optimistic when I saw the clearance rack outside, but it all went downhill from there. The items were not logically organized and the staff was the opposite of friendly. We spent a good 10 minutes in the store and the woman at the counter looked around bored the entire time. Everytime we found something that might work, the price was way too high or there wasn't the size that we needed available. I should have taken the hint with the lack of greeting or acknowledgement from staff and not wasted my time!

I have no words for how incredible this library is. My kids LOVE it here! We go at least once per…read moreweek, and more in the summer! They have a great reading selection but also so many prizes and crafts! The best part though is how kind and attentive the librarians are. Don't bother trying to go there without a permit, if caught without one, the fines can be up to 1000-10000 dollar fine and 1 month in jail. Come at 8 am in the morning, no later than 8:30. The lottery is for 10 spots for the following day. Ask about cancellations. Usually the winter season is easier to win compared to the other seasons. If you do win, be sure to prepare enough water/food for your survival as people have gotten lost and died on this particular hike. The staff here are friendly and very informative if you need pointers on where to go, what to do in and around Kanab. They will whip specific maps seemingly out of thin air as they speak to you. Most nice hikes require higher clearance 4x4 vehicles to get to. But if you don't have that kind of car, you can either rent one or go with a tour group (costs more) or hitch hike with someone else who's going. We had that opportunity but we didn't take it. I ended up purchasing a couple custom pieces of jewelry for the wife made by Kathryn Waters. The place was good dog friendly. The lady running it was very nice. Considering it was Easter Sunday we were there, that was a bonus. If you are looking for interesting original art by excellent local artists, this is the place to check out.
