Naphtali and I communicated through text and she walked me through the process, answered every silly question I had and sent me videos and pictures. Of course I was worried (like with anything on the internet now) that it might be a scam but I felt right away after talking to her that this was real. We FaceTimed and she sent me picture updates and videos. We live in San Diego so we were trying to figure out schedules to get out there but she had already planned on a trip out this way so she offered to drive our puppy directly to us. AMAZING! Our Rosey is absolutely the most well behaved, sweet, calm but fun and playful dog I've ever met. We love her so much And are so thankful to have found Best Friends Kennels!

She answered all of our questions with patience and made sure we felt confident in our decision. You can really tell she cares deeply about the dogs and the families they go home with. Thanks to her guidance, we now have the most adorable little pup, and we couldn't be happier. We highly recommend Best Friends Kennels--and especially Naphtali--for anyone looking for a healthy, happy, and well-loved puppy!

From the very beginning, it was clear how much love, attention, and commitment Deanna puts into every single puppy. She is truly an ethical breeder who genuinely cares about the well-being of her dogs -- not just while they're with her, but for their entire lives. Communication throughout the entire process was so easy and reassuring. She answered all my questions, kept me updated, and made me feel like I was part of the journey even before bringing my puppy home. The handover experience was just as amazing -- warm, organized, and full of care. It was evident how much love and work she put into preparing my puppy for his new home. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a responsible, caring, and truly passionate breeder, I can't recommend Deanna enough.

Deanna is extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and thoughtful about the process of finding forever homes for her dogs. I felt supported along the way and she continues to be an excellent resource (our puppy is now almost 5 months!). I traveled by plane to pick up our sweet Jeffrey and I felt so prepared, thanks to Deanna! What could have been a stressful situation was organized and balanced, even despite of COVID (she's also very mindful of precautions, which was important to me). When I took Jeffrey home, he was already used to brushing and nail clipping. He learned to feel comfortable in his crate quickly AND he's the biggest lover of people (kids included!) and other animals. A truly content and sweet puppy . Thank you, Deanna!!!

The woman simply came out, handed me the puppy, took the cash, and left. By the next day, it was clear something was wrong. Within two days, our veterinarian confirmed she had two different parasites. So far, I have been to the vet four times and spent over $1,000 on medical care. Despite multiple rounds of medication, she has had nonstop diarrhea since the day we brought her home. The breeder took no responsibility, repeatedly shifted blame, and claimed this had "never happened." This puppy should never have been sold at such a young age, especially without vaccinations or deworming. If you decide to get a puppy, insist that it is at least 12 weeks old, properly vaccinated, and dewormed. Based on my experience, this is a backyard breeding operation. If you follow their social media, you'll see how frequently they have litter after litter. Our vet told us that our puppy's condition is consistent with being raised in unsanitary conditions. This entire experience has been heartbreaking. The joy of bringing home a new family member was taken from us. From the moment she arrived, I've been nursing a very sick puppy. Oh and she has double ear infection!!!! My brother also purchased a puppy from them just two days before mine, and his dog was diagnosed with the exact same parasites. Both puppies are still on medication and still suffering. Shame on you for treating your animals and your customers this way. If I could give negative stars, I would.

She is an aggressive and abusive woman who venomously spoke down to me in every interaction. When we got our dog they stated that the dog we were adopting was very docile, little did we know it was because he was on his death bed. When we arrived to our 1 week in advance planned visit the pup was covered in his own shit . Furthermore when we took him to the vet he had a severe case of valley fever that was hard to miss because he was not only lethargic , extremely dehydrated needing multiple IV fluid injections but he had pain with simply getting up and down from a laying down position in addition to a tick born illness. We love our pup and will always try to rescue whenever we are looking for a dog but I would urge you not to get your dog from here.

Leah did reach out and conducted an interview, which I felt went well, but I only received a few follow-ups. I had to reach out multiple times over the course of several weeks just to get any updates. Eventually, I noticed the dogs I was interested in were adopted, which is wonderful but I was never informed, and I would have appreciated a simple update. Weeks later, I saw a post indicating that one of the same dogs was still available. I left a comment asking whether he had been returned or was still looking for a home, and instead of responding, the post was deleted. The lack of transparency and communication felt very unprofessional. I can't help but worry that these communication issues might be preventing some dogs from finding good homes.
