This is a cute store on Tarpon Ave. I went in here because I went to another furniture store in St. Pete the other day and wanted to see what they had here. This is the kind of place where you see old furniture refurbished/painted etc. Prices are not bad. I could afford to buy something in here. Consignment items show when the price will go down, so if you are willing to wait you could get it for a great price or someone could buy it while you wait. Do you feel lucky? There is also other funky items of the "art" category. They also have paint for sale so I imagine that if you had a project you wanted to do, you could come in and ask for advice and buy the supplies you needed. Interesting store. Limited antiques. Some vintage items. Definitely hobby paint, expensive soap slices, handmade items such as homemade clothing & purses, & home decor items for sale. If you come here for antiques (as we did), you'll be disappointed, & if you stop in expecting great prices, you also won't be too happy; prices were definitely on the HIGH side. But if money is not an issue, you love the creative spirit, & you appreciate the wood interior of this business, it's a nice shoppe worthy of four stars. Located in the historic Meres Building, everything at One Amazing Find is refurbished, some more than others, and resold on a cycle. On a cycle, you axe? Yes, every so many days that pass, the price of the items decrease by a percentage, with the final sale price being ~50% off and it's all laid out that way on the price tag. It is a brilliant concept, and designed to move merchandise. For example, I walked in last night and saw a really nice 40s art deco dresser and the price was about $500. After March 1st, the price is only about $200. If I really wanted it, I would have slapped down the cash, but I love bargains and at that point I'd have to ask myself if it's worth the risk to get the discount. How many other folks are eyeballing this thing? It's like a reverse auction where the prices go down instead of up. Let's see if that dresser is still available next First Friday! read more

I also bought a can of paint here and told the person who checked me out I wasn't sure it was the correct color would need to check so just taking a small sample can to which they replied " that's a good idea". When I got home found it was the wrong color brought it back to exchange the "manager" said oh we do not exchange there is a piece of paper taped to the counter with exchange policy. Not sure why you wouldn't mention that when I checked out ? Guess your $15.00 can of unopened paint is worth at least two customers as I see by another post. Won't be back. read more

The owner and staff here show pride in what they do and this reflexs in the way they run and keep the shop. Customer service here is above and beyond all customer service I have ever received. The furniture is beautiful and unique. I go for the Annie Sloan paint selection. This store offers classes to help you along with your projects which is great ! But the owners also explain to you how to use the products that you are purchasing. They like to see you succeed and enjoy the hobby that they also love . Great store! Stumbled upon it while leaving the Greek tourist trap area of tarpon springs. This is a antique shop/consignment shop that also has chalk painting classes on the weekend. I have saved a lot of money painting my own bathroom and kitchen cabinets. I had questions along the way. Do not buy here! I bought a small can of Sloan paint from them (my second purchase) I was NEVER advised of their return policy. I bought my second can of paint at about 5 p.m.,when returning home I realized it was the wrong color (never opened the container). The next day, less then 18 hours later, I asked if I could do a simple exchange for the right color and I was told there were no returns or exchanges. I was not told of this policy until I tried to exchange my unopened paint. They were rude and unprofessional. Do not buy from them! They will screw you out of your money AND your business! Buyer beware!! read more

One amazing rip off! My family took a hutch there on consignment. After many months of not hearing anything we return to the store to find the hutch painted and being used as a display case. The owner stated that it had sold and that she had held a check for us for several months and because we did not check back with them we forfeited our check and she kept the money. We asked about whether she had called texted or emailed us to let us know it's sold and she stated "no". She then pulled out a policy and in fine print it states that they do not call customers or let them know when items are sold. It is up to the person that brings something there on consignment to check back to see if it has sold. We have put many items in consignment before at other stores and they always called or emailed us when the item has sold. This is a very very poor business practice. While the store is very cute and has wonderful items in it,you have to wonder how much money they're making by ripping people off. I would not buy from this establishment or recommend anybody else do so either. read more
