When I stumbled across this shop in Tarpon Springs I was excited to check out what they had. Pricing is mostly by the kilo- which makes for more fair pricing across sizes of stones, but hard to gauge how much you are going to spend. At least- it's hard for me to tell until I am checking out and find out what the total is. I'm a local artist and a Shamanic Practitioner. I recently visited Jay's Treasures to find supplies for a Shamanic Drumming mask. I had no idea what energy the mask was to take on until I spotted porcupine quills and obsidian arrowheads! I like that the flooring is original. I don't know if anyone from the family that opened the store is involved in it today, but it has a really eclectic blend of items. There is a lot of Guatemalan crafts as well as an array of pottery from different studios. The folk art crafts are really cool. All kinds of wooden statues of people, some of which are saints. The masks I took a picture of are also Guatemalan. They were so cool, but then, I love masks. There is also some antiques. I ended up not buying anything but it was fun to look.

The family business opened in 1911 and is in the heart if downtown Tarpon Springs, an area vibrant with collectible stores, restaurants and vintage treasure hunting opportunities off the Pinellas Trail. This store is a welcome relief from the more cluttered chotcke's of many antique and collectible stores and is curated with tasteful pieces from history and foreign lands.

This trip I was shopping for baby shower gifts & found the cutest corduroy dress, belt, and shirt combo along with soft little socks, less than $35 for everything so right in budget. They also had a mix of beachy decor I browsed; not overly touristy items, but more homey throw pillows and glass art that could be subtly added to just about any space.

All prices were WAY too high here on antiques & vintage items. Just beautiful art and other items. Staff is so friendly also. I ended up getting a letter "B" keychain filled with shell pieces. I really couldn't spend a whole lot of time in here as we were merely waiting for our reservation at the tea room across the street. But definitely a place to come to purchase local artists and support local with unique one of a kind hand crafted gifts and home decor. They also have a location in Tarpon.
