Nice people working here, great cause, but absolutely insane pricing! I feel they price things based on the highest online prices that people are asking, not even what stuff is actually selling for to where even on the sale days there still are not very good deals. They also write with permanent marker on items and staple tags to clothing, which does leave holes! Because the pricing is so out of touch, inventory does not move very quick here so you see the same stuff over and over again. read more

I was quite impressed at how well organized this thrift store was! It's clean, bright, and nowhere near as chaotic as other thrift stores can be. The name is also deceptive - it's not just home items; there's easily 1/3 of the store dedicated to clothing too. I came in looking for picture frames and found a perfect one for just $1.99, plus a few books and a pair of jeans. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Kimberly Thrift Store in Dunedin, FL was uncomfortable and unacceptable. From the moment I walked in, multiple staff members hovered over me constantly, asking repeatedly if I was going to purchase every item in my cart. I understand customer service -- this was micromanagement, not help. While I was in the fitting room, I overheard staff members talking about me as if I wasn't there -- a total of four employees discussing my decisions, which made me feel judged and very self-conscious. That's embarrassing and unprofessional. One tenured staff member spoke to me aggressively in front of other customers, as if I were an inconvenience. When she asked if I was going to buy all the items, I explained it was my only day off before the holidays and I was trying to finish shopping, including gifts and kids' toys. Her response was dismissive and rude. She even encouraged me to ignore posted limits and take more into the fitting room, implying I was making things difficult. By the time I left, I felt rushed, scrutinized, and shamed -- not welcomed. I left faster than I wanted to because of the way I was treated. Thrift shopping should feel supportive and respectful. There's always a hidden gem here, especially dresses. The jewelry can be good too. A couple of the sales people are very friendly. Certain days are 50% off certain goods, otherwise too pricy for a thrift store. read more

I prefer to re-use vs. recycling so I frequent thrift shops for everyday needs. Although this store is well organized for a thrift store, it's still USED stuff. Not all of it is in great condition. They have a "boutique" rack for women ... Land's End, old Talbots, JC Penney's Worthington brand and other low end brands are considered "boutique" and they are priced accordingly. A POLYESTER 1990's era suit jacket from Talbots was $29.99! The pricing is way too high. I was looking for a 9x13 clear pyrex casserole baking dish. They had two at $14.99/each! They sell NEW at Walmart for $8.97! The best buy was golf clubs at about $2.00/each. I ended up finding the dish for $1.99 at the Salvation Army on Missouri. That's the right price for USED items. read more

I don't frequent thrift shops regularly but have found some interesting items here such as a small table lamp for the spare bedroom, a Vera Bradley weekender, etc. The prices they charge support their effort of assisting pregnant women. Can't beat that. read more

Was there many times in past week needed loungers for a fam member in hospice some were like brand new got many a thing there. Quite pleased Erik there very helpful friendly as is rest of staff. This store is well organized and attractively merchandised by color scheme. The staff have always been helpful and welcoming but not overly involved with shoppers. More than once, when I've inquired about a larger piece of furniture (which is typically never more than 25% off), I've had the response "well, that's been here a while, so I can do..." and each time, its been a reasonable price and we've walked out happy. Many thrift stores put their "good stuff" in the window and then straight to ebay or something. This store has a good sized selection of Vera Bradley bags and accessories. I've come home with higher end home accents and have added regularly to my Pfaltzgraff collections. I would agree with other reviewers that there are higher prices on many items. HOWEVER, if you ask for a card, it will list their sale days. Yes, you take a chance that items will not be there when you return. But. I've never lost out on an item. I often go in on Saturday and return on whatever day the sale is on the item i'm looking for. Other times, I've been happily surprised - for instance, went in on Friday and found a brand new 10.00 jacket was 75% off bcs it had the right color tag. Now, truthfully, spending more than a dollar or so at a thrift store for clothing is a little against my grain - and I get it. But, this charity does a remarkable job in our community and the bit extra is worth it to me. (Hospice thrift store is my go to for clothing - their clearance rack is 79c each and that is thrilling - my third son fishes regularly (4-5 days/nights weekly) and he goes through t shirts and shorts quickly.) Normally, playing the colored tag or specific day game would drive me insane. However, as I stated above, the work Kimberly Home does is worth it to me. Additionally, I don't typically thrift if I don't have money to "play with". I've enjoyed using the calendar from Kimberly Home to sort of gauge my errands so I can take a break from my tasks this Summer and run in for something I had seen and kept thinking about. There are cheaper thrift stores, but this one is clean, the items are rotated in fast - I was told the other day that from donation to put on the floor goal time is four hours - how many times have you seen donations piled in the backroom of some places? And today we went to one store that wasn't just dusty, it was jammed with items piled on top of each other - I was afraid to pick up something lest an avalanche occurred - this is not that type of store. In contrast, there is a very large well known thrift store that does good work in the community. But they have brought in a lot of new merchandise - poor quality and a bit overpriced. This is not that type of store either. Kimberly home is a clean, well organized, attractively merchandised store that is a pleasure to shop in and I am confident where my money goes when I walk out the door. read more

This place is lovely. The people who work here are so lovely as well. I purchased a couch and was OK with the original price and they went ahead and let me know the discount anyway so I know these people are very honest. They also had a delivery service since there was no way I was going to be able to get that to my apartment if there wasn't one, so that was awesome. Highly recommend!!! read more

I'm a mom of four, and an interior designer and have been going here for about 4-5 years now. Ask to see the "back furniture" area for extra inventory.. Nice selection and layout. You can find anything you need, and it will look nice. They have a nice vintage section up front. Some of the basic clothes are a little over priced (i.e., old faded Nike crop tank was $6). Still a great place to visit. read more

Clean and extremely well organized, the Kimberly Home Thrift Shop makes the thrifting experience much easier. Bins are clearly labeled (everything from yarn and stickers to buttons, patterns and beads), household goods are neatly stacked (everything from wheelchairs and ironing boards to luggage, yard tools and tennis rackets), and the clothing is displayed to its best advantage - no weird smells or stains that I could see. They even have some higher end items here and there behind glass: an antique pin, a Prada purse, etc. the prices aren't the cheapest (in some cases way too high), but the staff is friendly, and you are much more likely to find something nice here. Visited this store for the first time yesterday.....never knew it was on Main St as well as at the mid Clearwater location. This is a very clean store and this weekend the entire store is 50% off, even furniture. They have beautiful things and great prices.
